I saw process of chemical tempering on Thoisoi yt channel.
    It' looks easy.
And that's how armor glass are made for armored vehicles.

Have you considered using rubbing alcohol to thin down the adhesive? It might not haze. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@TheRealOHA I have used alcohol, mineral spirits (hydrocarbons) and xylene depending on the adhesive. They all work well within respects of thinning. I just think glass to plastic needs better adhesion.

Thank you for providing different build recipes. Most people will have access to a hardware store, even in a grid down scenario.
How did you come to the resin infusion method you used with the plastic bag? Did a standard brush method not work?

    I suppose it will stop 9mm .
And could stop something with higher energy and not tipped bullet like 10mm or something else with energy around 1000Joules. But it depend on quality of polycarbonate - it mechanical properties are very different .
It can stop 556 only if glass sheets are tempered.

I always like budget builds/at home builds. For me if I was going to do this for a windshield, rear window and 4 side windows time is not in my favor to do that. Would it be faster and easier to just get 2 inch polycarbonate? I'm not trashing home builds but time is money and it ends up 2 inches thick anyway. I'd want to stop .308 at least. I'd assume 2 inch polycarbonate would do that?

Unfortunately, I’ve tested 3 inches of polycarbonate and it does not stop even 5.56 nor .308.

@@3RBallistics oh that stinks. I thought it might do better.

No, this is not gorilla glass. It’s just a brand of adhesive
