I don't hate it when you check up on games. I actually LIKE that you do that! There are plenty of games I have only bought after watching your second visit and seeing the changes and improvements.
His youtube metrics likely show him that his repeat coverage is less popular is I'm guessing is why he said that. But I don't personally even remember this game in previous coverage.
@@jonpetterle I love him checking up on games. Other channels do it, and I appreciate it so you know if a game you were on the fence about is now better.
Splat, I love it when you update your coverage of lesser-known games, so long as there is real progress being made. I love Stoneshard as an idea, but the version I played was really half-baked, so this serves kinda like a PSA to let fans know "Hey! There has been progress!" I don't know what other commenters say, but just one man's opinion: keep doing what you are doing!
Updates for me show the games that are really worth playing. Many of these indie review channels review at the release of the demo/early access amd unless tue game really speaks to me, I dont know if they will be worth a buy at 1.0.
@@shadowmage661 price might be higher after this update since all the updates already in the game. Future content would raise the price tho. So if you like the idea of this game, buy it now.
Same, especially if it was something I’ve already been interested in. I have this game (not installed) but this revisit makes me wanna hop back in and get my ass kicked again
revists are a major reason I subscribe to your channel. I cant keep up with upcoming games and where they are at and when they reach 1.0 is usually when I pull the trigger after seeing videos like yours Splat.
Honestly, thanks for coming back to this one. I bought this years ago when it first dropped, and have steadily hoped they would get it up to a more playable state. It looks like they finally got there, and I wouldn't have known without this video.
For the record, I love when you give updates on games. Please don't stop doing it just because the videos are less popular - they are still very important.
Hey Splat, I love when you update coverage on a good game. You're the expert. Also there is no guarantee I or anyone else happened to be watching when you first covered a game. Keep up the good work!
11:58 Miracle Chance is actually the chance that a spell will crit while Crit Chance is with physical weapons. The buffs and debuffs you are referring to are "Mental States" which are determined by your Moral and Sanity. If Moral and Sanity are >=50 you will get positive bonuses like Heroic, Optimistic. If your Moral is >=50 and your sanity is
Holy shit this game looks incredible, thanks so much for keeping tabs with these promising projects! There's so many and it's hard to know when one is just going to break out into a full sprint. Stoneshard seems to have done that admirably.
Great to see Stoneshard again (I kinda like that you revisit games that are still in development) it's because of you I started playing Ostranauts and got seriously hooked on it. I tinker with Elin and may have to give this one a look too 😊
I absolutely adore Stone Shard. So I'm happy to see you come back to cover it! And I'm also always happy to see you come back to any game that's in EA after it gets a major update to cover the changes and take another look at it. We're spoiled by the glut of great games in EA right now, and have been for a good while, so these videos of you returning to games is a valuable resource!
I like when Splat gives games a little check-up. Helps us still on the fence or who have burnt out on a game a pair of fresh eyes, to see if a game is going in a good direction.
The caravan mechanics look especially interesting, but I can tell I'm too much of a casual for this game lol. Thanks for the video, I love it when you update games like this!
I like that you let us know when there are big updates for games you have covered in the past. I think you do a good job of balancing new content with updates.
Great game. I saw a poll from one of the developers where they asked what players would prefer the devs to focus on for the next update and one of the options was a new enemy faction: Orcs.
Hey Splat, just wanted to say that I really appreciate when you update your coverage on games. You only do it when there's something worth covering, and it's much appreciated, at least by me. Thanks for all you do for the Indie gaming scene.
I have loved this game since early access.... its great to see its still being worked on... i played it initially and put it down once i seen the road map posted. i wanna wait until its completely done to play... i think this game deserves all the love that you're giving it
I like the yearly check ups on games. Revisits help in informing what kind of progress has been made and how likely a title is to climb out of the early access abyss and get to a 1.0
I totally agree on the quality of this update. played a ton before and they essentialy covered all the gaps that were present in previous versions, especially the "empty world to walk around" sensation you get after you manage to exit the early game stage One thing you forgot to mention about stoneshard is that it comes with permadeath mode. trust me it gets waaay more exciting to play. atm i'm on a ranger lvl7 and before going ANYWHERE i double check for all contingencies. i even resorted to small game hunting and pelting in order to fund my caravan, way less dangerous than dungeon delving without proper gear
What no, I love when you check up on games as it puts the spotlight back on a game I might have been waiting for them to get further along in before picking up.
I bought Dungeonmans because of your consistent checking back on in, as well as a few other indie titles. This game is now on my wishlist! Thanks for doing what you do!
Traps really are no joke in this game. Early on in my playthrough I stepped on a fire trap and it did about 1/4 of my health in damage turn one so I dumped all my water on myself which then caused me to get really thirsty because recovering health while resting massively accelerates hunger and thirst increase, which also caused me to run out of food because I had only brought two pieces of cheap bread. Then I died because I couldn't afford to rest to heal before combat.
I like when you check up on games and update coverage, leads me to have new interest in games I’d already written off, like Voin. After your latest coverage I know the problems have been fixed, so I’m looking to pick it up soon.
it's almost more fun playing along the way. StoneShard has been playable for years and fun for even longer. Hypetrain publishes a number of small successes like this.
I can't recommend Stoneshard enough. Game is beautiful. There is attention to detail in every aspect. Its hard, and yet every build is viable, highly customisable and different in meaningful way in terms of gameplay. And even besides build you have so many options of traps, throwables, consumables etc. Sure, updates are rare. There is no denying that. But every update makes so many changes that it often feels like new game. Not to mention that the one that just dropped was the biggest one BY FAR. It not only overhauled many already existing aspects of the game but also added few additional separate activities. Jesus, and I already have like 900h in this game.
I've sunk probably 10h in the previous version and I got devastated, but I like the game a lot, except this zoning screen thing. I would love to see seamless map. Love your review again on the game. Cheers.
Let me just add to the pile rq: Updates when you do them, are greatly appreciated! Caves Of Qud got a purchase from me due to you're most recent revisit. I heard you say alot of people hate it and I had to raise to eyebrow lol. Keep up the good work Splatty
Great news, hopefully the SaveShard mod works with this new version. With the obnoxious save system dealt with, Stoneshard is truly one of the best RPGs you can play these days.
@@krzysztofkowalski7765 Sort of. It's a little app you run outside of the game that copy-pastes your last non-city save to a directory of your choice. It basically partially automates something you can do manually. Clunky as hell, but it makes the game playable. My understanding is that the current save system is just baked into the game and can't be altered in any significant way, so this clunky thing is probably as good as it gets.
I have bought this game a while ago, but it felt a bit empty. This update looks quite cool, but I think I'll wait for the character creator. Thanks for the video!
This game is as dope as it gets. I have put hundreds of hours into it. I am so excited to play the full release I ALMOST don't want to check out the update. ugh the lemas!!!
I'm with everyone who loves a good revisit, and would actually love a Fictorum and Noita revisit. Both have been significantly updated since you covered them.
Have you thought of ever doing a VOD channel? I would love to watch your past streams but Twitch isn't great to watch on. I own Stoneshard because of the last video, but I don't have the time to really learn the game, but I can watch/listen to gameplay while I work and it would be great to see a more in depth playthrough of the game. Also absolutely love your content. Regardless, keep it up!!!
This became my favorite game period. The closest that I had played before was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and other than Battle Brothers I haven't found anything else that scratches the itch.
This is one of those games I actually really liked but felt like there was something slightly missing. It has a really cool idea, but a lot of the systems you have to really learn through trial and error.

I like that Splatercat checks back in on games.

I Fell in love with stoneshard and quasymorph and i got to know them cause of splat

Im so stoked about this update!
I've been looking forward to this update for months, and it makes me smile to see it covered on a larger channel.

This is the most beautiful and accessable game of its kind imo.

at long last, this jewel of a game needed a polish so much, it will be awesome when finished ♥
Really great to see an update on this gem of a game.
Revisits are the best! Traditional review scores usually only reflect the reception at launch, especially for true indies
Glad you checked up on this game. Would love a long stream.

starts off in a dungeon like a BOSS.
I love this game! Glad to see more updates! I haven't played in quite some time.

I'm loving the changes they made to cooking! It feels so nice to eat something you made youself hahaha
@dragoxl5 RIGHT?! It's so cozy!
I actually saw they updated and was considering finally picking it up. Was hoping you'd do this.

Definitely have come to rely on you to do update videos on Early Access games, Stone Shard is one I bought and follow because of this channel!
FWIW I like it when you check back in on games. Some of them have turned from half-baked ideas into real gems.
Keep the updates. Maybe the highlight of your channel for me.
stoneshard is awesommmmeee, thx splat, please do a follow up when the 1.0 comes out!

I prefer it when you revisit stuff as it's so hard to keep track of all the different early state games that you show off
