Thank You !Thank You ! Thank You! My Kenmore microwave almost exactly like the one in your video, stopped working a year and half ago. The light would go on but the dish would not turn and it would not heat. After watching your video, I felt confident that the reason it stopped working was the switches. Apparently there was a crack by the top door hinge that allowed the door to drop just slightly, thus causing a misalignment when the door latched. Eventually this broke the top pushy button thingy on the top switch to eventually break off completely. The switches were so cheap $6.98 and they came in a 2-pk which was great because the top and bottom switches seemed to be the same but the middle switch looked somewhat different. When I plugged it back in I yelled ” woo hoo “ and danced around my kitchen for about 10 minutes! I can’t believe I didn’t look into it sooner! Thank you again!
Thanks for this video. I was able to fix my niece’s microwave after watching it, and saved her a ton of money. Also good to see the info on making sure the switch bracket is snugly in place. Thanks again.
Thank you for posting this, and I have now fixed my Kenmore microwave. Interestingly, I fixed this exact problem by replacing all 3 door switches and the fuse, even though all 3 original switches and the original fuse passed continuity testing with my multimeter.
Ha Ha! That’s too funny. I did the exact same thing! I didn’t watch the whole video until after I was done. Mine is just starting to fail but I wanted to confirm the switch types and sizes I ordered all new ones with spares for $6.00 CDN at Ali Express. A good option if you’re not in a hurry. Thanks for posting. 😊
