That's too complicated, It would have to be hardcoded into the video, because youtube doesn't support dual captions. Interleaving the cars name with driver's commenting into one caption file would be too complicated and probably confusing for viewer. Hardcoding is a no way, because I want the videos remain in the original form. The best way would be adding youtube annotations, which would be time consuming as hell, because of the way how the annotation adding works. Maybe I'll add it in the future if youtube will add better tools for annotation creation.

Though I do like the kaira, I feel that car in the race is slightly cheating...
I mean, it's just an SR20DE powering it. The car is only best in the handling department. The only reason why the ZZ won.
Porsche did very good with apparently bad tires! Nice!
And this was the very very early 2.5L car. Not only the smallest Boxster engine, it also revs lower than the 2.7 or 3.2. If this was a Boxster S on more serious tires it would have been a weapon. I think the S came out the year after this.

I wonder if they ever had a German car winning against the japanese competition... I know most of "our" cars aren't made for a track like Tsukuba, but on some occasions it's kinda obvious they use really low spec cars and usually put them on questionable tyres.
I'm not a fan of the 1st gen Boxter, but they usually don't behave that weird.
Personally, I own a MX-5 NA (most likely gonna sell it this year, tough) and if the Z3 wasn't one of the awful 4 cylinders, there's no way the MX-5 could stand a chance on the straight (if both are stock ofc), even tough it can carry more speed trough corners.
MadIIMike every motor series on earth said the bmw z series are just shit. Really shit. Never seen a good z series review. Boxter got lots of good reviews tho.
They have had German cars win on rare occasion. There was one where a BMW Z3M, allegedly a slower US spec version, clobbered pretty much everything else on the track, save for the FD RX7 in said battle. Basically it only happens when the German car defies the odds they put it against or when they drastically underestimate the German car. Normally when they make it a fair competition the German cars tend to come out on or near the top. This was an example of "lets take the worst German roadsters and put them against the best ones Japan offers and a modified Type R."

I have no idea why they entered an Integra into a battle of open-top RWD two-seaters, when it is none of those things, but I am impressed it finished P2.
The Inte-R was always the benchmark car in this era, always pulling above its cost and displacement

That z3 is a base son 1.9 barely puts out 140hp that tegy was made for road/track with a more sophisticated suspension lighter than a base z3 stronger than a base z3 now in days you could make a 🚀 out of z3

@@duncanlang922 the only differences between the ZZ and the ZZ-S was the year, and the ZZ-S actually came with a roof, (it was included not just an option as I heard it was before)
I’ve got a 1996 and a 2000 Tommy Kaira ZZ, both ‘S’ and both have the removable roof as standard.

Tommy Kaira ZZ's frame is the best unquestionably, the race was won just before it started.
What engine that Z3 had? There is huge difference between a 1.9 or a 2.8, and if they had a LSD or not count very much as well.
No words for the non sense Boxter (just the S version MAY does something, not the 2.5/2.7 sure).
Integra has the notorius big limit that is its FWD traction, albeit it has a wonderful engine.
MX5 has goof frame but not good engine.
I do not have competence on the Renault Sport Roadster.

That was a basic 2.5L Porsche against a modified Type R... This race proves you can get the worst Porsche and still almost beat the best Honda. lol

In the very early 2000s, when I had my Type R (2001, #675), the Z3s were the biggest jokes on the road. No, that's not true. The biggest jokes were Mercury Cougars, lol.
I loved beating the shit out of them, and almost everything else.
I mean, the Z3 in this battle was a 1.9 powered base version. It was BMW's base model versus purpose built track cars, a 6cylinder Porsche, and a modified Type R. The Eunos (Miata) was somewhat fair competition, though the Z3 weighs like 600lbs more. The Z3 2.8 would have been the better car for this battle, and likely would have been swapping punches with the top 3 quite easily considering BMW's M52B28 has better torque response than any of the top 3 assuming the Porsche is a 2.5.
Effectively, this battle displays what a base model Porsche and BMW can do. The Type R was top of the line. The BMW and Porsche were both just the basic model, and the Porsche barely lost to the Integra.

Fake & Staged as always, tommy kaira winning makes sense because it's a monster cornering machine (it's probably even faster than the Lotus Exige)
But there is no way the boxster is slower than the integra, they must have done something to that integra, This show is always biased towards Mitsubishi, Nissan & Honda
