“40oz to Freedom is the only chance I have to feel good even though I feel bad...”
Welcome to all those people who wish Bradley was still alive and jamming! You are here to witness the closest thing many of us have left of a live show with them all together. The way Brad seemlessly ripped verses from English to Spanish and back all while spanning Raggae, Hip-Hop, blues, Ska, Punk, Rock was and still is unmatched!

As soon as Bradley started strumming his guitar my eyes started watering. This band has such an emotional affect on me. I'm really not sure why either. I think I just really wish I could've seen them live.

+anch0redShips You are certainly not alone. It's been happening a lot recently for me too, with the eye watering thing. I was never able to see Bradley play live with Sublime, wasn't old enough at the time that he passed...I would have loved to see such a punk/ska legend that helped define this style of music play a badass, no holds barred show with Lou Dog, Eric, and Bud...I've been listening to them a lot recently and thinking of how things would be different if he was able to hold on just a little longer and kick his addiction to the curb...I often wonder how Sublime would have flourished and thrived and would still be rocking it with legends like Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise, and No Doubt today. I know one day we will all see him again.

people don't understand, sublime was a jam band. a punk reggae etc etc jam band. all these guys with their tribute bands that can play every sublime song note for note and perfectly reproduce the studio recording, that's impressive and all, but that's not what sublime is about. if I want to hear the studio recordings really loud I'll just turn my stereo up. sublime live is sloppy. raw. perfectly imperfect. that's what sublime was. and that's what these cats these days don't understand. there's no feeling at these concerts these days. the sounds of sublime with not a trace of the spirit of Brad to be found. they gotta get loose and just jam. Brad. I fucking miss you man.

Goddamn😢 once he started playing the lead into pawnshop I started to tear up. It's crazy how a band that I've never even seen live and the singer died while I was in the 8th grade have such an emotional effect me!?!? Music is amazing like that! It brings you back to a moment in time, like when you met your wife, or lost a friend or finding love for the first time. Sublime will always live on through the love and our memories. Fuck these guys really had something special!

Damnit... I remember when Sublime hit the radios back in '97. I was in 8th grade and remember blasting their album non-stop. That was the first and only band so far I've fell in love with, bought their album, but couldn't go to one of their concerts. Damnit man...

    • @kevinmurtagh4996

BTG I'll never forget it either! I was in 7th grade myself. That album absolutely changed my life, and the lives of my friends, more profoundly than any other thing in my youth. I felt such a deep emotional connection to every song on the album. Some of the themes were a little foreign to me at 13 years old, but I certainly learned a lot from it haha. I'll never forget when I learned that the lead singer was not only dead, but has actually died before the album even came out. At the time I think I was a little too young to think about the fact that that meant there would never be another album by them. After a couple years, it definitely started to hit me how tragic it was that the band technically ended before 85% of their fans even knew they existed. That proves just how incredible that album is, that it was able to be so successful and sell millions and millions of copies without any real promotion of any kind. They couldn't tour the album and promote because they didn't exist anymore! So every bit of success the album has had came strictly from the music itself. There was never much of an image in those early days of the album coming out because the band wasn't there to go with the album. I've spent so much time in my life now analyzing the whole mystique around that album, and there aren't many examples, if any, of a band having as much commercial, critical, and underground success as that without the band even existing from the moment that success came... It's pretty insane, actually.

Bradley Nowell wasn’t a genius. Though he was the Epitome of the human spirit, which sadly most of us have long forgotten. With that being said the magic of sublime has been long gone, But don’t give me wrong the remaining two are bad ass in their own birth right and great musicians, however Bradley Nowell stood for some thing and will always be recognized for it. RIP
