What a clever solution, Kathleen. I have been struggelling with "stiff" first and last pages of the signatures in a JJ, which are bulging up. And now, there is a solution 😊. Thanks a lot for sharing this clever tip!
You share such wonderful details and give us such awesome tips. Thank you thank you I am so happy I found your channel I just love it blessings and love from New Mexico
I love that gusset idea my current journal is so bulky I had no idea how to help the problem I'm gonna try this today and hopefully it will help thank you so much!!!
This is a great tip, Kathleen. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Your journal is looking so pretty. I love the way you are using the fabric flowers and leaves and the little bead in the center makes them perfect. The one on the dark paper really pops and that dark makes a nice contrast to the brightness of the book, like shadows in bright sunlight. Just lovely. You are so close to finishing and the journal is looking great.
Thanks for the gatermouth fix! I have battled with this before. Trying to flatten the journal page by page puts undue stress on the signature binding. Looking forward to trying this fix, and to seeing your completed journal!! It already looks fantastic! 😊
Thank you, Kathleen! You’re a very wise crafter with all of the awesome tips and techniques that you share! No doubt you’ve worked out these solutions through necessity, and I admire your tenacity to find the answers! 😀💞
I am watching from Hawai'i where we do not have any kind of Dollar Stores (at least not on my island). But I get a lot of general tips and tricks out of your videos (not only this project) and of course I could buy similar items in other stores or order online. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with others! I am looking forward to your next video 🙂
Just discovered you by way of algorithm. Can’t stay & watch entire video at this moment, but wanted to compliment-WOW-the blue pages!! I’ll have to go into your video/playlist and see if you have a ‘how to’ , or it they simply started off blue 😂. So pretty. New subscriber!❤
Thank you for sharing this - I have just been doing a little of this when putting my signatures together and I wondered how you get yours so neat! Do you make the outside papers a little longer to account for this or do you keep them all the same size? Thanks!
There you go Gemma! It’s intuitive! I don’t usually anticipate it. I always think I’m going to be restrained, haha. But, in general I don’t mind the length being variable. I kind of like that ragged edge.
Wow, Kathleen! I’ve never seen that page scoring at the binding technique. Did you figure that out yourself? I bet you did. You are a genius! Amazing. Always enjoy your videos and learn something new each time. ❤ Oh, and I forgot to mention before how much I like the crochet on the cover. So pretty! 😊

If you haven’t sewn it yet Tina, the best solution is to remove some pages - to be honest. But this will help a little, I hope.
Great idea for getting rid of the bulk. I will copy your way of doing it for sure 😉 Your journal is beautiful. Merci 😊
