The man literally oozes music! I agree he is less commercially successful and less well known than Bruno, but their partnership comes from their love of music and great friendship. I don't know why you haven't heard too!! I came to AP through a Bruno concert a number of years ago. I wasn't a massive Bruno fan just had respect and wanted to see him live. Biggest bonus AP was supporting. WOW, been a massive fan since and proud to have introduced him to loads of young people. Silk sonic, absolute blessing! That is my era, my music. Icing on the cake. AP continues to mesmorise me though, on every musical level. Superb! Dig deeper, there's lots online to enjoy, Jewels a particular, uplifting, favorite. As for Silk Sonic, symbiotic. It has given AP the commercial recognition he deserves, but also it has given Bruno an edge, from good pop music to another musical level. I wish/hope they'll come to the UK
Agree with this. Anderson helps Bruno establish soulful authenticity and groove outside of Pop. It’s funny because Anderson heard an early version of Put on a Smile that Bruno had and Bruno played it for Anderson and Andy told Bruno it was trash! (Apple interview with Ebro). They rewrote it together and added those critical drum grooves and called in Babyface to add his special sauce, and now we have one of the greatest songs ever written (according to Tony)😂

In the interview part of the performance he was asked his favorite collaboration and he answered “the work I’m about to release.” Such a great moment in time.
Years ago, Anderson did a verse on the remix of the song It G Ma - it's a bit of a hidden gem. It's definitely worth checking out if you want to hear more of his straight rap. It's crazy how his rap flow is like a switch he can just turn on. It reminds me of Marvin Gaye's 'Inner City Blues' or 'What's Going On'. He makes a lot of those socially conscious songs. He had written that type of song for Silk Sonic, but Bruno wanted a more positive and happier sound coming out of Covid. Maybe they'll save it for the next album, hopefully.
