Been having a recap on this rover when it was still outside of the firm you work for repairing inside the boot ,it's come a long way James ,your a very dedicated man 👍💯
Nice job James. You're really going the extra mile on this one. I bet you're glad you're still not working on it in the car park. All the best, Mart in Solihull.
Another great video James, this is definitely the best video I’ve seen on this job on a SD1, I’m not looking forward to dropping the cassette on mine especially with it being electric to, Another good detailed video and outstanding work on your beautiful SD1 this car has come so far over the years thanks to your hard work and dedication Cheers Chris
look forward to it James, love your passion and dedication to the SD1, I learn so much from your videos 👍 you don’t happen to have any videos of converting a 2600 to 3.5 V8 do you 😃
@ that is spooky will you be filming much of this with the detail on the necessary points, I have started collecting all the parts got the engine and have started stripping it to see what its condition is would love to pick your brains on this can find much on the forums
James I've only done a headlining once you've got the advice perfect especially when you're doing it yourself can't believe it's the same car from your works carpark you've done a great job especially on your own brilliant video. John your friend from Glasgow
Thanks John. The first one went tits up and for a while i was almost gonna use it, but then decided it had to come out again. Shame it cost me another £100 in glue and fabric :(
@nitrosilvia I know what you mean but knowing you through these videos it would've annoyed you and you would have done it later you don't cut corners I've seen you cut out small pieces of rust when others would have treated them well done James cars going to be the best John
for a second i thought the car on the jig was the green one. now that would have been progress! Happy xmas to you and family as its getting too cold for the garage and you'll be busy i'm sure
Thanks Roger. Sadly green car still sat under a cover. I did take it to the nec at Birmingham and never did a video so might upload that over the weekend
High pressure job that 😅 when I did mine on my Sierra I cut the back corner a nad short. With an aftermarket hatch seal you could see it. Fortunately I got a nice 2nd hand original seal, which covered it, much to my relief.
Thinking back to when you started on this, in a wintry car park, its come a long way, and looks superb, keep at it James, got to do this job on my S1 this einter, so yet another useful video, thanks.
Very neat job sir. Sunroof mechanism looks pretty straightforward compared to the usual winding handle ones. The only other car I remember with that sort of mechanism was the Chrysler Alpine/Solara.
What a PLUCKING PALAVER James 😂, nice of your Mrs to lend tweezers ? Or did she even know, I find it’s easier not to ask sometimes James 😁. Less fannying around , love that expression 😁, nice end liner / sunroof result 👌🏻.
Luckily for you I did a video when I did my rover 200 which is same as rover 25 m.th-cam.com/video/1vxnEqtgcsc/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUUm92ZXIgMjAwIGhlYWRsaW5pbmc%3D
I love these cars. I used to drive my dad’s V8 when I passed my test in ‘86 - I think it was scrapped years ago (WWG173T). Would love to own one or even have a drive in one - if my garage wasn’t full of MX5 I’d get one definately. Maybe one day
@ fair enough. I usually find though that it covers costs of parts and for you would definitely help as you have far more subscribers than me 😂😂. Keep up the excellent work though. I’m invested as I’ve followed this case from the car park on about episode 3!
To think that when you 1st started the Diseasel, you were singlish had your little flat and gorged out on kebabs most nights... Excellent content as always.
Nothing gets your heart racing like the moment after you spray mount the headlining material and headliner board 😅
So true..!
Having the patience not to touch it is hard

impeccable work James looks fantastic
Cheers Paulie
This is certainly the best headlining ‘how to’ I’ve ever seen 😊
cheers Patrick. I did another one when i retrimmed my rover 200 which was a bit more of a ballache as it has a pocket/bulge for sunroof mototr etc
Good evening James
Mate, your late? What happened?
I do like the unorganised 'genius at work' method you impose. Tidy Job that James.
Probably alcohol related
I need to replace the headlining on my 405 Estate. Last headlining I did was on my Rover 75 Tourer and it was a major PITA 😩
Loving your work.
405 estate! What a car. I had a 406hdi estate. Loved it. Paid £460 off eBay as 2nd gear didn’t work
Nice job James. You're really going the extra mile on this one. I bet you're glad you're still not working on it in the car park. All the best, Mart in Solihull.
Cheers Mart, yeah having infra red heaters and a roof make all the difference
Will have to watch later, glad Ur back 😊
Great upload, James , thanks

Cheers Chris. When i do the vitesse, i'll do a better video. I did record more stuff about the cartridge but lost it in time etc
look forward to it James, love your passion and dedication to the SD1, I learn so much from your videos 👍 you don’t happen to have any videos of converting a 2600 to 3.5 V8 do you 😃
@@chriss2761 extremely spooky timing! Guess what i will be doing on the NEC classic show stand in March, converting Spitfiretrading's 2600 to v8!!!!!

Thanks for the vid James :) always a pleasure to watch
The King is back!
Elvis Lives! Thanks
Head(linings..) and Shoulder's above the rest 🤪✌️. Good work James 👍.
Very good, I like that
Great work, James ❤
Thank you 🙌
Top job James 👍
Thanks vincent
Lovely work James. I always enjoy your videos mate. Merry christmas to you and your Family.
Nice work james
Thanks 👍
Top work as usual jimbob
Thank you kindly
Wish you had put this video up before I did the roof lining in my Disco. The best head lining tutorial on the internet. Nice one James.
Cheers Paul. Basically i watched loads of other people doing vids ancd then did a few
Good to see you getting on James !
Cheers Nutty

It’s so frustrating. I messed up on a rover 200 headliner but some grey crimp edging trim saved the day
@nitrosilvia yeah, I can't imagine trying to get it back off 40 year old compressed card 😂
Proper job! 👍🏻
Cheers Snoopy

You certainly have more patience than me. Pukka job.
It did take two times. Rushed it first time and went tits up
Hehe, I’ve done this job once before... also cut extra holes for the 4th grab handle. :)
Is soooooooo annoying!
Very neat job sir. Sunroof mechanism looks pretty straightforward compared to the usual winding handle ones. The only other car I remember with that sort of mechanism was the Chrysler Alpine/Solara.
Yes it’s pretty simple. It’s actually the same unit or at least very similar to Saab 900 and Jaguar xj6
What a PLUCKING PALAVER James 😂, nice of your Mrs to lend tweezers ? Or did she even know, I find it’s easier not to ask sometimes James 😁. Less fannying around , love that expression 😁, nice end liner / sunroof result 👌🏻.
I know where she hides them. They really good. Very precise. Too good for girls
@ haha 😛 sneaky
I need to sort out the droopy headliner in my Rover 25. It's something I've been putting off as the thought of doing it myself fills me with dread! 😅.
Luckily for you I did a video when I did my rover 200 which is same as rover 25

I do like sd1 i just like how they drive and feel, particularly the wrap around windscreen. Hacving said that an mx-5 would be most fun!
Absolutely riveting video, dare you dribble some water over to see if it waterproof
I'm a Rover fan!
For future reference; Which brand of cider gives the best results?
Strongbow or bunkers. Any stronger and the headlining comes out real bad!
great effort
Sun roofs are such a pain.
Big time. I’d rather have a tin roof
I believe the "Sunroof thing" is commonly known as a cassette.
thats the one
Blue Peter, here’s one I have already done, love your channel but you didn’t show getting sunroof out plus glueing of trim and fitting of rim🙏🏻🙏🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
Annoyingly I messed up in the editing. I used loads of bulldog clips to hold the fabric to the lip while I glued it. The edge trim just pushes on.
Which colour do you recommend for a series 2 VDP efi?
My favourite is probably Oporto red, which is a burgundy metallic. But I guess it depends on what interior you have?
Great vid. The diesel is really starting to come together, and it looks like it will be a smasher. Are you going to use it as a daily driver?
Still not sure. I do soooo many miles for work probably not. I’ll see how I like it when it’s finished
I take it this film wasn’t made today, as you are wearing shorts, a T-Shirt, and the roof panel hasn’t blown away!!!😮
Yeah this was towards autumn. Shows how long it’s been with my videos
As ever an eclectic watch (in s good way). Much as i hate adverts i was not interrupted by any, are you sure you’ve monetised this video??
Hi mate, no still not monetised anything, was thinking about it but would feel a bit cheeky!
@ fair enough. I usually find though that it covers costs of parts and for you would definitely help as you have far more subscribers than me 😂😂. Keep up the excellent work though. I’m invested as I’ve followed this case from the car park on about episode 3!
Hope you remembered to clean those nice tweezers before you handed them back to her indoors!
Nah she isn’t that lucky
Isnt wd40 on a rag supposed to be good at removing excess headlining and carpet glue? Sure Iveseen Edd China use wd40 to do it.
Hmmm not sure. I think it would leave an oily residue?
Are you interested in cooperation with MaXpeedingRods?
which is a manufacturer of auto parts such as coilovers, conrods, turbos etc.
I no would be but do they do rover v8 stuff?
@@nitrosilvia Hello, yes, have ball bearing turbos in promotion. Can you please share your email address or instagram account?

Yeah, was living the dream!
