    I bought a Minase Divido last year, and it is indeed a fantastic watch as well as providing a very unique ownership experience. Every time you wear it, you'd discover something new, or see it in a different light. Its design appears more closely related to architecture than to classic watch design.

    Great! I always love having presented to me something completely new and I love the watch. The dial color is a bold choice. IF I win or earn a lot of money, I might consider it even as a German. Thanks

    An excellent and thoughtful review. I do not understand why people insist on relating this watch to a Swiss brand like Omega. This is a watch designed for somebody who has an independent bent and is fixated on the quality of the execution and finishing as distinguished from the brand name.

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! I think it's hard to escape the comparison since most people's budgets are finite, and they want to get the "best watch for their money". But a comparison should be fair, and the case and dial on this is more impressive than any Omega I've owned. And as you correctly stated, the appeal here is for someone who is into independent watchmaking and more "elusive" or "rare" watches.

    These macro shots were worth the wait. My word, that's gorgeous up close. It makes my Sinn's case look cheap and my Farer's dial look plain. It's not to my taste, but it's still amazing and I hope you've brought a bit more attention to the brand.

    love this watch, thanks for the great review. I bought mine with the blueish-grey dial think 2-3 years ago. At first, I had as a watch nerd the same issues as you mentioned with the movement but since I understood, that the watch is completely about the case design and finish I made peace with the movement and I am just enjoying the watch now. I bought mine with the rubber strap and I love the integration of the strap in the case but the clasp is so immense thick and the strap itself isn't on the thin side, so if you struggle with the Breitling single fold deployment clasp with the minder loop system for leather straps - this one is way thicker. I use a black alligator strap but after I saw your strap fashion show on the video, I think it is time to look for something fancier. Thank you for the inspiration. I am not sure but I think I'll go for the HORIZON Mid Size this year. I always wanted to have a square watch and the white dial looks cool. Thank you again for the video, you now have a new subscriber ;-)

      Thanks for the very kind words, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I might have another Minase video coming soon, although it won't be a detailed review and will be in the "highlight reel" format. I think square watches are really cool too, and I'm very tempted to get one. Maybe 2022 is the year of the square!

    Great review. I love how detailed you are in these reviews. But I’m quite confused. The movement is fine, but nothing to look at, I really think they should have made it a solid case back as visually the movement is not a pretty one nor is it up to par with the rest of the watch.

    I wanted to take one, back in 2018. But the 2824 movement is simply too entry level to pair with this watch. It need not be in-house; 2892 Top is a fine movement and is much more appropriate for this.

  • @PLBW81
    @PLBW81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    would prefer if they would have used a japanese movement. 9015 and decorate it. 9015 is on the level like the ETA 2892-2

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting perspective, however I find the aesthetics of the 9015s and the loud rotor sound to be quite underwhelming. I much prefer the 2892-2. The new Miyota movements launched last year look promising though.

    • @PLBW81
      @PLBW81 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PLBW81 I agree. A high end Japanese movement would be ideal for this watch.

  • @inkhaurt5812
    @inkhaurt5812 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It’s nice but they should’ve gone with a 2892 which has polished parts and better decoration that flatters the nature of this watch. The 2824 doesn’t look like it belongs there.

    Here I am sitting here thinking about how I don't much like bent hands on watches, when you casually drop the $3000-$5000 bombshell. Ouch. It better be good when it's knocking on the door of Omega and other established, high-end watches. If you had the money, would you really buy this watch over mainstream, established competitors with in-house movements? I wouldn't.

    • @juniorjohnson5961
      @juniorjohnson5961 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Haha, absolutely fair! But these watches are on a whole different level and not in the same playing field as Omega and other $3000-5000 mid-tier luxury watches. You could say they're competing with Grand Seiko for case finishing... but doing a better job at it, in my opinion.
      To answer your second question - yes, and I did! I purchased this watch (although pre-owned). I thought about it a lot during my review and I would buy this new at $5k too. BUT that is because I've grown to value design, engineering and finishing of the case, dial and other visual elements more than I do an in-house movement.

    • @leyay7540
      @leyay7540 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Movement could be the major reason to purchase a watch but shouldn't be the only one.

      I was thinking about buying a grand seiko auto or SD for 6K and I've tried this (not planned). Well, I bought it instantly with bracelet and forgot about the boring snowflake. If you enjoy watches, this is not about brands or reputation but watchmaking. Next one might be a GS though, no issue :)
