even though a lot of things were unhooked from those cars, it might have been a good idea to at least bring a code reader with you that might have shown things to check instead of blindly just going from one thing to another. the scan tool would show why the car went into limp in mode. check the codes first, then check the freeze frame screen. Clear the codes, then see what comes back. Just some suggestions. even something as simple as a gas pedal sensor or even a throttle position sensor can make the car go into limp mode.
Excellent thoughts dude. I couldn't agree more... I also know the later models have a rev limiter with no load. You can put it on the floor and it will only rev to about 3000rpm.
Put rebuilt motors in them. Do not paint them so it doesn't draw attention to them. Those cars need a gear change , storage and then raced. It only gets better the more you race them . Crown Vic racing is getting big in the south. A nice break in the " off " season. 😂
Question: Are they not allowed to run a different steering box to change the steering ratio? That many turns to overcorrect seems a little much to me. Seems easy to lose track of the steering position, even if you had a piece of tape at 12 ‘oclock still wouldn’t help

You guys do a great job with respect to your racing efforts but allow me to make a comment: In life, if you strive to do many things you end up doing nothing correctly. I say that because I have followed you from the beginning of this journey and always been very happy for all of your success but with all of your recent ventures it appears that the Late Model part is not holding up to your past success. IMO, concentrating on DLM solely should get your organization back to the winners circle. Again, this is just an opinion and without more internal knowledge of your total plans I should just leave my comments here. Best of luck in 2024; I will be waiting for your weekly updates.

Gearing plays a huge part in these. That 2.73 open diff is wimpy compared to a 3.55 tracloc cop car rear or a 3.73 tracloc rebuilt replacement

Needed to protest that first heat race. The winner in the red car ran away and hid
Back to the shop and figure out game plan for next race. Next year rebuild kit for tranny. And salvage that motor if possible.
No thermostat means no cooling. Water doesn’t sit in the radiator long enough to cool. Drill a hole in it if ya need to but don’t remove it.
You need to cut center out of thermostat, they will overheat running no thermostat.
