    photobashing can be a great way to figure out out to paint something

    My favorite is version 1 minus the tangent created by the hair and the tree. I like the flow of hair better. However I like the inclusion of the hands better in version 2. Jeez! I guess I like a combined version of both 1 and 2.

    Been using this technique too, but for someone like me who can't hire models & rely on what i can find online, it can get pretty hard to make concept photos. Sometimes, when I just can't find the right reference photo, I have to be my own model lmao
    Edit: Lioba, if you could, it would be cool if you could make a video about composition specifically? I often struggle with my artwork looking too noisy &/or lacking something that I couldn't figure out :')

      There's nothing wrong with being your own model! Lots of artists take pictures of their own body parts in specific poses for reference.

      Learning new tools can help
      For instance, Unreal Engine 5 has a tool called Metahuman which would allow you to create realistic looking people, pose and light them however you like. There is no upfront cost (and no cost at all if you don't ship a UE5 product)
      You can take screen shots and use those as composition components in other pieces of image editing software
      It also may be interesting to use some AI generative tools like Dall-e for composition work. You can type out your idea and see if you like anything that is generated. These AI tools were (arguably unfairly) trained on actual master works and millions of genuine pieces of art, so the compositions are generally decent
      Hope this helps!

    I want to make a composition for a 16x20 canvas, how do I know how to print out my reference so it fits good on the canvas?

    • @LiobaBrueckner
      @LiobaBrueckner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just print it out as 16x20 and then tape the single pages together! Or you can use a projector! 😉

    It's so disgusting when you edit her face and don't even know why it's disgusting or why people don't like it when you do it... "In my opinion, it just looks better", that comment was so ignorant, it baffles me how people that think like that actually exist
