Gearbox fault: repair needed + Parking brake faulty + Service
very common problem at AL4 gearbox, the MCU does not recognize P gear or every other gear (not N position calibration).
temporary solution:
1. play with the shifter, start the engine.
2. start the engine at N position.
3. comment if you have other temporary solution.
solution cost: 10-15$

Just to mention to all Citroen C5 X7 (III) owners - good battery is very important. A lot senzor errors and faults starts from old/bad battery !

Hi, I just changed the pressure and lock up solenoids and when i was about to try the car the gears don't "lock". I have to move it a little upwards for it to engage and therefore i cannot put it in park because I would need to push it forward but I can't. Will this fix it or do I have to reposition the spring index on the valves body? Thank you
Can you explain more on the calibration, do i need to mechanically shift the gear to N position before i do the calibration as per your video? if so, how do i know mechanically the gear is in N position? a very big thank you for showing this fix, really helps a lot.

I get transmission failure when it rains.
I am getting error U1003-0103 in OBD data
In addition, the vehicle changes gears on its own while driving on the road.

Hello, how are you? I did the complete repair of the AL4 on my C5 2009. O' rings, the two solenoids and the entire oil replacement were changed. It worked ok ... after 1000km of repair, the gearbox gave a very strong bump and went into emergency in 3rd gear (I was getting close to the traffic light, at about 20 km/h). I hung up and started the car and the gears “came back”, but now the car is bumping in gear shifting, randomly ... sometimes without bump, sometimes with bump so hard that I even look in the rearview mirror to check if the car's gearbox didn't fall. What bothers me most is that it gives a big bump when it shifts into reverse. The reverse brake belt has also been replaced. In addition, the “manual” option works when it wants. I scanned and two errors came out: “P1710 sensor supply fault” and “P1706 press control signal fault”. Do you have any idea what's going on? Do you believe it may be the defective gear selector (showed in the video)?

Good stuff! I have another strange issue. I have throttle lag only when standing still or rolling very slowly. Even if if I floor the pedal, the car hesitates 1,5-2 seconds. Probing with obd and/or computer shows that the throttle signal isn't registered and suddenly it jumps up. Any ideas?

Try to do throttle position calibration on the cold engine.

@@MyCarIsCitroen Interesting that you mentioned the cold engine, is there a specific reason? As it happens, it feels like the problem is worse when the engine is warm (!). But the lag from standing still / rolling is always a big issue.. I'll try the calibration, though. To clarify, the throttle position doesn't jump up because I floor the pedal, it is always a timed delay. I can press the pedal lightly too and that registers as well, there is only a lag.

Hello, my 2009 Citroen grand Picasso semiautomatic. I get a message "Gearbox faulty"
When i move the gear lever, nothing happened, it does not go to "'D" , it stays on "N" and sometimes the car does not start, and other times it starts. The OBD II says "Manufacturer Controlled Transmission. Code P 1834" what do you think the problem is?

Last two months I meet the same problem.
When I driving suddenly engine does down and I should stop the car, put in P, turn off the key.
After that I wait for 1-2 minutes, and turn the engine on, the problem disappearing .. but it could repeat at any moment.. it's very annoying, but I love this car and don't wana change it ..

My Car Is Citroen , when you switch in D your gearbox are stoked in 3rd gear with S and ❄️snow as well or not?
The same problem with a Peugeot 206 1.6 trip tonic. 2008, do you know the reason? . I start the engine, after 20 minutes there's a jerking. Inside Dash monitor, the S and ❄️ snow start to blink and transmission enters in 3rd gear only (safe mode). Temporary fix to shut down and restart engine, then OK. I got code P1710. Did you fix yours.?

I got this error in CITROEN C5 2011 and car gear box stuck on D3 but doing engine on and off gear box got normal and its working fine at the moment but I got brown engine light on display and its always display for engine check.

Before 2 days, I had the same problem. Yesterday I clean all BSM and ECU cable sockets and all fuses on BSM, and after that, all fine. The problem was electrical. Errors which computer stores, was cleared with Diagbox. I will check today again for problems, but I think there is no problem anymore

We have a C5 1.6 from 2011 that cannot drive on automatic. Only 1, 3 and 5 gears go in if we drive it manually.
I have faut codes:
P0925
P0949
P1800 (fault in N position programming)
What the others mean, I do not know - reader used: DiagBox.
