Falling Into Infinity is actually my favorite DT album because it's runs the gamut, This is the last song on it and so darn good... It's exceptionally great live as it always was especially on the tour in '97.
Hi Guys, I have not heard this before. Absolutely love this !!! It's been a while since I listened to a track on here and went to buy it straight away .. but I just bought the album !!! I can't wait to play this again through my hi fi. The Rush vibes were brilliant and that mid section solo is wonderful. I rarely buy an album for 1 track, but this I know will be worth it, especially if the rest of the album is this good and I suspect it is. Thankyou for playing this, damn that was good !!! Happy New Year Jim , hope you're doing well. I can tell you this DT is different than anything else they recorded. Listen and we can talk about it ... 🤘proggy greetings Rudi 😃

Little does she know James LaBrie’s undeniable talent has earned him recognition and accolades throughout his career. He has been praised by critics and fans alike and has received several awards for his outstanding contributions to the music industry.
Falling Into Infinity is one my favorite albums by Dream Theatre. This song is one of the best on this album. Nothing beats the album Images and Words though.
Hi From the UK NicnLex. I love listening to your reactions. You both have a musical empathy which is contagious and adds to the enjoyment. The guitar solo on this track reminds me of "In the Dead of Night" Also, it must have been an influence on John.
First listen to them, must dig deeper. Bit concerned that your absence indicated a problem? Good you're OK and Happy new year. I'm suddenly into IQ. Saw you'd covered a couple of tracks, but please, even for your own consumption try Road of Bones. So far I've only listened to Disc 2 but it's spectacular... Constellations is magical as a starter!
Loved watching Alexia react. To some of your favorite music. Really 3 great tracks very fulll and rich. Great guitar and really loved the bass players groove. Great stuff. ❤️
Great reaction! There is a live version of "Trial of Tears" in which they played a segmet of "Xanadu" by Rush (I think is the version on "Live at Budokan")...
Saw DT open for Yes in September of 2004 at the Allentown in Pennsylvania. I'm at best a casual fan of DT. James singing voice is fine when he actually sings. Unfortunately he yells a lot which I find irritating. Have to agree with Alexia. However on this song, he definitely sounds good! Here was the set list from the night I saw them open for YES during Yes' 35th Anniversary Tour and they did this song!!!!👍 Dream Theater setlist: Overture About to Crash Learning to Live Machine Messiah Trial of Tears Stream of Consciousness Act II: Scene Eight: The Spirit Carries On Solitary Shell About to Crash (Reprise) Losing Time/Grand Finale

I'm a big fan of Alice Cooper and Dream Theater. Derek Sherinian played on one of my most favorite albums by Alice Cooper, The Last Temptation. I discovered Dream Theater 15 years after Alice. I think that's cool.
Don't forget that Derek Sherinian teamed up with Portnoy to form Sons Of Apollo with Bumblefoot, Jeff Scott Soto, and Billy Sheehan. They made epic music also.

This album is amazing! This could be one of their best albums with Trial of Tears, Hell's Kitchen, Lines in the Sand, Raise the Knife, New Millenium. And I love that they separated Hell's Kitchen from Burning My Soul on the final cut! I really wish I could listen to more Dream Theater albums with Derek!
I love the full album, but must admit that I prefer the demo version of the album which is a double instead of a single disc. The production on the demos isn't as clean, but the additional songs and differences in the existing songs make up for a muddier sound.

Yes! It's the best solo by a mile. If someone asked me what my favourite solo was it would be between this and Guthrie Govan on Drive Home. Both are less focused on being impressive and more about the feeling of the moment.
Love the álbum. Trial of tears is probably the best, but everything is so musical. To be honest, I dont like the arrangments on Take Away My Pain, especially the drums. The acustic version we saw on tour was way better. I like all the songs, it is a very underated album
