Hello, Is it really the burglar alarm with the orange strobe shown at 0:58 that is ringing ? I have never heard a burglar alarm sounding like that, I mean having an actual bell like this, only piezo sounders. But I've seen the term "bell box" used in documentations to name the outdoor sounder. Also if it was in the US it would likely be mistaken for a fire alarm or sprinkler water motor bell. To me it sounds more like a school bell than a proper alarm to be honest by the way 😂😂
The strobe was working, the camera just couldn't pick it up because it's xenon. Yes, alarm boxes originally had bells (certainly here in the UK anyway) hence being referred to as Bell Boxes, even today! In the 70s, 80s and early 90s, it was very common to hear bells ringing as alarms. 90s onwards we heard much more of sirens.
@@triotriotrio Thank you for the info. I suppose sirens are used because they might be much louder than bells and also most importantly more intimidating. I mean the bells at all my schools when I was younger sounded pretty much like the alarm in this video. And it's a burglar alarm !
@@psirvent8 However bells travel much further when sounding. In the UK alot of farms in rural areas still use bells so towns further away could be notified of an alarm ringing

It was very loud. You could hear it from 11 roads away. I find that bells tend to travel further than sirens do

@@alarmmuseum it depends if there is any wind as well, as wind carries the sound as well. Master Bells are very loud bells
