    As an alarm expert you should really have your motion Sensors in the corner of a room not on a flat wall … having it in a corner is an advantage to give you more coverage of the area your protecting

      @@allaboutalarms4842 Do you recommend i get more motion detectors? I have two currently. One in my living room and one in my hallway. I was thinking about getting one for each bedroom which would be 2 more incase someone broke a window and got in. The contact sensors wouldn’t really cover a window break in.

    That's an old first alert smoke detector from i wanna say the late 90's early 2000's. My parents house had one in the hallway. Boy when i was 6-7 i was terrified of it. I outgrew that fear of alarms now but they just annoy me lmao

  • @joshhanson79

    I had a traditional wired system and it works the same way this one does. you set one door as your entry exit door and that is the door with the delay. if you open any other door the alarm will immediately go off! You can now get wireless siren's to put in other places in the house. The reason your base station was not loud is because you had it hidden in the bathroom! The best place to put it is mounted on the wall. With this system if the base station is broken it automatically notifies the call center if you are paying for monitoring!

    • @LogicDoesStuff
      @LogicDoesStuff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The base station was purposely placed in the bathroom closet, so it isn't loud since he is only demonstrating the system.

    If someone breaks into your door and enter your home, by the time they kill you and take a few things in under 2 minutes, your alarm will just start to go off. No delay entry for me. I disarm the system before opening the door, lock it, and arm it immediately. I feel safest that way. Although, I do see why disarming it for even 30 seconds can be stupid if someone snuck up behind me and knocked me out with my alarm disabled. That's scary too.

      For me since I have the second generation, there is a button on the contact sensor that lets you open the door without setting off the alarm for only once. Just press the button and it will flash green, and you can open the door. After you close the door if you want to open the door again you have to press it again, otherwise it will sound the alarm.

    The one thing I do not like about your ring a lot is that it is the keypad is have like a wire attached to it and that makes it look like it’s not professionally done, but you can what you can do is unplug it, and it will still be functionally working And the one other thing is it you should have your motion sensors in the corner of a room, not on a flat wall and the other thing is that the alarm is a weak and also I don’t like the old generation keypad who do you think agrees with me?🤔 but on the other hand your house is 👍🏼 just SAYING………….

    that's a really weak siren, one of the drawbacks I think....if someone enters your house you want outside and inside noise. It's a huge deterrent for anyone just sticking around and the delay on that is terrible..should be instant. You ran around your house for a decade before that thing went off. Why the delay? Did you trip the entry-exit?

Although, they're not as loud as hardwired sirens you get from big alarm companies like ADT. Those things are so loud you can barely talk to the alarm company when they call.

      It’s because motion sensors aren’t armed in home mode because your inside the house moving around

      My dad tripped the sensor getting a glass of water at 12 am and it scared the living shit out of me I was just peacefully sleeping and all the sudden REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

      It was in home & armed so that's why. If it was in away & armed it would set off the alarm.

    Just saying, you installed the door sensor wrong. The big part goes on the door.

      The Animatebook You are mistaken. Although the bigger part is supposed to go on the doors frame, it isn’t always viable such as when the frame has design or a big inward gap. Thanks for watching

      @@Claroboy911 it is actually incorrectly installed, my nest secure is installed that way and even in the app it says that the larger part should be installed on the door

      You have the older sensor. The newer sensor can be installed that way but not the older sensor.

    That alarm fucking sucks. Whole minute delay and the sound is ass

    • @BukuiZhao
      @BukuiZhao 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The nest secure sounds better but Ring made a newer version of the alarm system. At least the newer Ring still sounds better. The keypad siren is just garbage because the sound on the keypad is distorted.
