Home Free is so talented! Each of them brings unique skills and talents to every song they do. To me they are the best group out there! Thanks for the great reaction!
As a fellow Scot, I really do appreciate that you let the music play right through before commenting. So many others stop every few bars which is really annoying, so great job!
It is great when they are able to react as they want to, but so many reactors DO GET BLOCKED IF THEY DON'T PAUSE AND REACT. I don't hold it against them if they need to pause. Imagine putting in all the effort and then your reaction gets blocked for copyright strike. Patrol Gaming is also able to play straight through in his reactions. Both these reactors are not based in USA.
Isn't seeing Their Reactions why you watch? If they can't stop when they want to it takes away the spontaneous reaction. Besides most will and some still do get blocked If they don't.
The didgeridoo sound was actually supposed to be a Jews/jaw harp -- very common in old bluegrass songs. Their bass-baritone Chance was doing that using a technique called throat singing. The harmonica was their beatboxer, Adam. Adam does do a didgeridoo sound in his beatbox solos and also in the percussion for "Everybody Walking This Land" though few people notice it.
Ya beat me to it. My Dad brought two of em home for me and my brother when we were kids and we proceeded to drive our parents crazy with them. They mysteriously disappeared after about a month.......
This is the video that draws a lot of reactors and fans into Home Free. O Brother Where Art Thou is such an iconic piece of American Cinema and this song is a big part of that, although it's actually a very old American folk song. If you have time, find the Avid Indoorsman movie review podcast, which is put on by Home Free tenor Rob Lundquist and his friend Beugs (Eric Beugler). They do an O Brother Where Art Thou episode with high tenor Austin and it is absolutely hilarious. Austin loves the film and hearing him do quotes from it is comedy gold. By the way, Chance, the baritone, was doing the jaw harp sound, and Adam, the beatboxer, was doing the harmonica, all with their mouths.
Loved it! They sure do knock it outta the park! Ahhh, the background- true Deep South there! Close your eyes and it will carry you to southern land. I could hear the “bugs” in the background! The beautiful old oak trees, maybe Angel oaks; the swamp land alligator of course. I really enjoyed this video! Do it again Donfather, do it again!❤️🙏🏻✌🏻🇺🇸💪🏼
This was the song that started me listening to Home Free. I checked it out because I love the song. I was very impressed by their version. That was before I even knew they were a capella. The song was so well done I had no clue. When I found out, my mind was blown and have been going down this rabbit hole ever since.
They just covered Patsy Cline's 'Crazy'. Austin Brown sings it in wonderfully. He is the high tenor. Rob Lindquist is another tenor [full beard]. Adam Rupp is the amazing beat boxer, etc. Chance, [(Adam Chance goes by Chance was replaced to fill Chris Rupp (brother to Adam Rupp, the original stars of Home Free)], he sings baritone and often does a great bass also. Enjoy the 150+ songs.
Thank you for reacting to this song. I really like the way the guys do it. Just in case you can use it...Left to Right...front row...Rob Lundquist Tenor from Minnesota...Austin Brown High Tenor from Georgia...You know Tim Foust Bass then some from Texas...Left to Right...back row...Adam Rupp beatboxer from Minnesota...Adam Chance Baritone/Bass from Alabama...goes by Chance for less confusion between the two Adam's. Some songs you will see Chris Rupp in Cowboy hat or cap. He left to go out on his own...doing well. Chris and Adam Rupp founded the group in 2000, and Chris was instrumental in getting Chance on board. I know it is a lot, sorry. :) Have a great rest of your day.
Hi from Australia. No not a didgeridoo! A Mouth Harp without the Harp. All fantastic voices - but that Bass! Chance? OMG! Stunning vocals - spectacular blend.
That is Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. He is stupendous ! That is a very very old song. 1st written down on paper in 1913. Would love for you to react next to their cover of Ed Sheeran's "Castle on the Hill" I think you'd really like it
This was filmed outside Mobile, Alabama near the Gulf of Mexico; a gorgeous area of the South. Beaches on the Gulf near the Florida/Alabama line have sugar fine white sand beaches. My family has been blessed to own a beach house there since the 1960's and I have spent many a summer soaking in the atmosphere.
Living in The Shire...The didjeridu, as you called it, is in this song supposed to portray an instrument called a "Mouth Organ" or a "Jew's Harp"...But I agree with you here, in this song, it does bring to mind someone sitting in the outback playing a didjeridu...This is one of my favorite bands and songs...And the harmonica was totally off the chain...Thanks for covering it...
The strange looking trees in the background are called Live Oak Trees . The whispy foliage hanging from the branches are called Spanish Moss . Live Oaks and Spanish Moss grow among the coastal regions of the Southern States from North Carolina to Eastern Texas . There is nowhere spookier than a Southern swamp under the pale light of the moon surrounded by Live Oaks and Spanish Moss when the fog rolls in .
Yes!! I've been subscribed for quite a while now and I am sooo excited that you're reacting to more of Home Free! They are my absolute favorite...a capella or otherwise...!!! As usual, loved your reaction and your wonderful, positive personality! You always make me smile! Thank you!
Love 💘 your reactions as always spot on !!! When are you . and family coming to the United States of America 🇺🇸 We love you in Cincinnati Ohio!!! God Bless you and yours
From left to right. Back row Chance aka Adam Chance Baritone Adam Rupp - beat boxer, tenor Front row Rob Lundquist - tenor Austin Brown - high tenor Tim Foust - bass ( but has an 8 octave range) You will also see a man in the older videos. He normally wears a cowboy hat. That is Chris Rupp. Him & Adam created this group in college. He use to be a baritone, but swears he is a tenor.
You should watch the movie "Oh Brother where art Thou" where this song came from. It's a Cohen Brother's film and well worth the watch for the whole Family. After watching this you should watch "Fargo", another Cohen Bros. film.
They have their own written original songs, too. They have over 150 videos here on TH-cam! Here’s one, different again, that will blow your socks off…”WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN”…Austin Brown, their high tenor, who is a classically trained high tenor in musical theater! His voice is Incredible!!! They just released a new video today”CRAZY”…it’s different again, an old song written by Willie Nelson & sung by Patsy Cline ❤️‼️. Quite wonderful 🙃❤️‼️
Happy to see you keeping up with Home Free. Just released "Crazy" last night and they smashed it too!! Done in Black and White like the old days. You got them...humble guys.
I do not wish to be rude, but you got that name wrong. It was known as a "jews harp" , before it was politically incorrect to say that, now known as a mouth harp or jaw harp in some areas.
Front row Rob Lundquist lead tenor (beard and glasses). Austin sky high tenor singing lead. Tim bass. Back row Adam Rupp beatboxer. And last Adam Chance (Chance) baritone he was making the sound of the mouth harp. Always enjoy watching your reaction.
It’s the souls of a old mouth harp, has the distinct sound as for home free they are my absolute favorite. Love them guys, and I think the trees are weeping willows (Not positive). lol tfs hugs
The Jaw Harp was done by Chance, not the Beatboxer Adam! Adam Rupp did the Bird Noises, Harmonica, of course the Beats, and most of the other jungle, forest noises! Also Rob Lundquist did the little rap ditty near the end too!
Aww good reaction Don! This song is over 100 years old. It was made popular in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou? Adam (beatboxer) did the harmonica and drums and some other noises but it was Chance the last guy filmed that did the “mouth harp” which sounds a bit like a didgeridoo. Adam can do a didgeridoo too. You can watch him do amazing drums and other sounds in a TH-cam video called Adam Rupp Drum Solo. He’s amazing. Tim can go lower than he did here and also sing in the tenor range. He has a 5 octave range. They’re all so good. Helplessly Hoping, Sea Shanty Medley, I Can’t Outrun You are tremendous.
The who's who of Home Free... Tim Foust - Bass, Adam Chance (short beard guy) - Baritone, Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses guy) - Tenor, Austin Brown (long red haired guy) - Lead Tenor, Adam Rupp - Beat Boxer.
Glad to see you are finally getting sponsorships. Let's see . . . Mission Chips, Mercedes-Benz, Asics sportswear. Very impressive. 😊 The imitated instrument is a mouth harp. Like a digeridoo only that it is an ancient instrument but now associated with bluegrass and it makes a somewhat similar sound. Many also assume it is Adam Rupp making it's sound in the song. But if you watch Adam Chance's mouth at the end, he is the one producing the sound. Great reaction.
I think Dan Tyminski (guy who sang the original version of the song) still has a restraining order on my mom. Kidding but she did practically tackle him when he was walking from the concert to his tour bus. She added his autograph to this awesome shirt she has that is covered in bluegrass legends.
This is the song that introduced me to Home Free, and made me an instant fan (Home Fry). No instruments used! The background didgeridoo sound is closer to what the musicians in the USA Deep South call a 'Jaws Harp', or sometime called a 'Jews Harp'. Very distinctive sound that.
Hey man just a tip, if you want a noticeable reduction in echo you should move those sound absorbent tiles to the ceiling. Or get more for the ceiling as well as the walls.
Someone said Chance was the bass... wrong!!! Chance is a baritone and has only been with the group for about 4 years! TIM FAUST IS THE DEEP BASS! TIM HAS A 5 OCTAVE RANGE. HE IS UNREAL!!! HE IS ALSO MY FAVORITE. A GOOD SONG TO LISTEN TO NEXT IS "HOW GREAT THOU ART", A GOSPEL HYMN! AUSTIN AND TIM WRITE SOME OF THEIR MUSIC BUT MOST OF THEIR SONGS ARE COVERS. ADAM RUPP, THE BEAT BOXER, IS A 2 TIME WORLD CHAMPION! THEIR FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED "HOMEFRIES" AND WE ARE EXTREMELY LOYAL. THEY HAVE AN EXTENSIVE CATALOGUE THAT GOES BACK TO 2010, AND THEY ARE VERY EXPERIENCED AND PROFESSIONAL! THIS IS MY FAVORITE GROUP! I JUST LOVE THEM!!!
Can't add anything not covered in the comments except to say that the most recent addition to the group is Chance the other baritone/bass. Tim can go lower but Chance is not far behind.

There you are, I've been gone all day! Love Home Free!

Yep. My Grandpa played a jews harp. I still have it somewhere.
Ya beat me to it.
My Dad brought two of em home for me and my brother when we were kids and we proceeded to drive our parents crazy with them.
They mysteriously disappeared after about a month.......
Home Free is like a country version of Pentatonix. Please react to The Butt’s Medley. It is so fun. You will love it.
This is true singing and talent! It really sounds like they have a band backing them up. I absolutely loved the verse sung by by the bass singer too.
You really need to listen to Peter Hollens and Tim Foust singing, "Misty Mountains ".
Ahhhh, I know this song from " Brother where art thou"... though these guys sing it much better. Phenomenal voices! 👏

This is one of those songs I can't help but sing along to. 🎶

Love the harmonica sound with his hands! Amazing.

I keep looking to see if I can figure what he is doing to make the sounds…impossible!
But it is Adam Chance that noise that most mistake for a didgeridoo. It's a mouth harp sound.
@@bearborg9986 ummmm, nope but its too hard to explain right now but whatever

You are exactly right! Live Oak Trees! My great great grandfathers homesteaded in a little bitty town called Mayo Fl, near Live Oak, Fl.
Love your wonderful reactions and your appreciation for some of what we have to offer from the States. ❤️😊
Do them singing when a man loves a woman it’s amazing
These guys are amazing!!
Thanks a million Don……
My pleasure Clifford
They have a new video premiering today. Their cover for Patsy Cline's "Crazy " (Doo Wop style)
Didn’t enjoy it as much as Folsom Prison Blues
WOW 😳 thanks!!!
I wonder what they can do with Walkin After Midnight?OMG,I NEED IR IN MY LIFE
Yeah, it doesn’t come close to Patsy Cline as much as I loved this song.
@@yvettefortinkeyser2222 nobody except LeAnn Rimes ever came close to Patsy
That was Chance (Adam Chance) doing the digeridoo.
Try this amazing group of A Capella women doing Amazing Grace. So beautiful and peaceful!

That sound being made is actually imitating an old (1700's) tiny mouth instrument called a mouth harp.
