Compassion by someone who has walked the same path that I, and many others have, is the most beautiful gift you give us. With my eyes full of tears, I thank you!
It's just too cute Taz...too cute! And, I'm so happy of where you are in your life. I'm so much older and I will say that you are growing as a person. We think we are mature at an earlier age and we are to an extent but it's a different kind of mature. What's truly important changes and continues to change. Every single time I think I have it figured out I realize that maybe I don't just yet. Always room to improve a little more is what I'm learning. Great video. xoxo patti 🎀
Amazing input Patti! I am completely on the same page as you.. God has a way of imparting clarity and wisdom on us about the same time our youth is taken away. Perfect timing..lol. Its as if the blindfold is off! Youre such a beautiful woman and appreciate you . XOXO TAZ
And your another favorite Nisha. When you two do your wig reviews it's amazing your both so sweet and amazing. I love watching. Keep up all the good that you are doing!
Great job with your hair ! Had to tell you how much you have helped me. Because of your encouragement, I got my first wig a few months ago and it was a lot lighter than my natural dark brunette. (Noriko moccachino R). Everybody including myself thought the color made me look younger and more natural lol. So 2 weeks ago I made a trip to Sally’s to lighten the base color and then got a blonde weave to get the same color. Everybody is raving about the change. Thank you! I’m a new woman ! (on the outside). Never would have known without getting that wig.
Taz, I just love you. Thanks for sharing your wigs, life philosophies, bio hair, and your smile! You lift my days! I am pushing 70 - so a little older, a little bigger, less hair, more wrinkles - - we ladies are always striving to be our best self regardless of our age. Who knew I'd start watching YT at this time in my life - but what a kick! xoxo Deb
I love that you left this comment D! I completely agree... living our best life with with what we have to work with..lol. I am so happy to be able to inspire you.. that is a wonderful compllment. I hear you about TH-cam! I often chuckle to myself at the irony of me doing a youtube channel! I used to think youtube was for my kids! It is a wonderful resource though.. .if you can fight off the few trolls and nasty people. Enjoy your day! XOXO
D. Comings . I also recently discovered UT and Taz’s videos. At 72 I was forced to retire from a career I had for 43 plus years due to three new autoimmune diseases that took my hair, my looks, and self esteem. Now I’m wearing wigs out to Dr. appts and will be cutting and coloring my bio hair. These videos and comments are a blessing and very self motivating !
You are such an inspiration to me. When I get demotivated or down, I watch this video & find it so uplifting. Thank you so much Taz, I’ve been ignoring my bio hair also. I’ve neglected it, & myself, as well & I do the same as you did before, head covers, headbands & always wearing a wig out the door. Thinking of doing this the more I watch this video. I shaved my head & do have regrowth, but it’s time to do something. I have the tools & hair color to do it myself so I’m gaining confidence in this process. I’ve colored my hair before I started losing hair years ago, it was always just using a frost kit to do my own highlights. I really like your clippers with the color coding too, very neat. As I mentioned, I shaved what hair I had left off completely & it’s taken 2 years to get just the hair I have now, just past my ears but again it’s gray in spots, falling out by the handfuls & it’s just awful. I’ve always had fine, straight hair that grew quick & long & my husband, also my college sweetheart, so he knows me that way as I won’t wet him see me wout something covering my head. He definitely didn’t want me to shave my head & I think this is the route I’m taking now, it makes sense & will leave “some” healthy hair behind. Anyway, I’m naturally medium/dark ash blonde, so it does lighten/lift easily & I’ve used the purple toner since I was in middle school when my mother started letting me get face-framing highlights, I used it to keep them bright & fresh. I love your candor & honesty, you keep it so real, 🤗hugs!
Awww sweet friend you are welcome and beautiful ~ I'm so happy I gave you inspiration and was there to help and more happy that YOU are happy ~ and yes to wigs!!!!!!!
You did an amazing job! I have started thinning my wigs after watching your video demo. I may start cutting my own bio hair now, too! Thank you for the inspiration!
Taz, you have the perfect profile for that hair cut. It shows off your lovely face. Thank you for sharing with those of us who are suffering from hair loss. Great video !
Thank you so much! You are so inspiring and motivating! I have some patchy bald spots due to chemo and radiation, and have long been afraid of trying wigs. Till now! Thank you, God bless!
It is ADORABLE! You look absolutely lovely. Taz, listen: I did this same thing about 6 weeks ago! All the things you've detailed here cover my own recent experience - and although my hairdresser is doing the cutting atm, I have my clippers, scissors and a Tinkle comb ready to be able to take over at least some of the time. I've also taken over the bleaching etc myself as the hair is so short that the health of it will be easily maintained regardless with masks, conditioners and so on. I was so startled when I clicked on this video today: I thought I was looking at my twin, even down to the earrings you have on - and the sudden interest in pink/purple (clothes AND hair, lol). I haven't even wanted to wear my new wigs, I love my short hair so much. Forget the 'masculine' nonsense! One tip for you: I pull some of my own hair forward onto the face (I also have a high forehead and very clear bone structure) and create pixie tendrils with a little gel, which immediately gets rid of any supposed masculine look! I love my short hair so much. I doubt I'll ever go back to trying to grow it longer. Very, very well done (you). Big hug. Xxxxxxx
I have been watching you for about six months and have learned a lot. I am 86 years old and after seeing this video, I decided to do the same thing as you but I didn’t color my hair - yet. I ordered the clippers that you suggested and they are wonderful! You are lucky you have curly hair, Mine is poker straight and thin. What did I have to lose?? Told my daughter-in-law I would probably cry afterwards but I was very pleased. Keep up the good work and God bless you.
Hi Taz, I have watched many of your wig reviews and always wondered what your back story with your bio hair was. So this video on your bio hair cut and colour was so interesting and inspiring. I have baby fine hair and have coloured it myself the best part of 50 years with good results, for the most part. As for cutting it, like you said, it helps if you have some curl which can camouflage any mistakes! Mine is longer than yours, I would say like a short bob but I have a whirl at my crown which is annoying and has to be addressed to get the hair going in the right direction if you know what I mean. All that said, I started purchasing wigs just a few years ago. My first one was from a beauty shop that was near our rental apartment when my husband and I travelled out to Vancouver Island. That wig worked great for the wet weather conditions so I could just put it on and go. When we got home I started watching wig reviews and learned so much that I purchased several more. However I have always had an itchy nape and even with a wig grip it my neck will still get itchy. I couldn’t wait to take them off after I came home from an outing. So my next 2 purchases have been ‘Toppers’ and they have been the perfect solution for me. Thank you so very much for your very inspirational videos, you have really been helpful to women being educated on many aspects of their personal journeys.
My thinning hair has finally lead me to a place and you were there. You uplift, educate, calm, nurture and give me hope that there will be a new quality of living as I begin my new wig journey soon. The first one is ordered and shipped. I am trying to be patient and still grieve the decision to "give up" on my bio hair. Your videos have meant so much due to your positive outlook. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
I really needed to hear this today. It is 2019. I came upon your website accidentally last year. I will not buy a wig without checking your site first. I have many issues going on in my life. Your video today has given me some inspiration to try harder to make some changes to myself. Thank you so much. You are just beautiful, I would never have guessed you to be 50. I thought somewhere in your thirties. Love your channel.
Thanks so much Linda. Whatever life throws our way is a learning experience.. I really believe that. Find the lesson in it and you will be able to heal and move on more quickly:-) All my love, TAZ
Taz you're gorgeous with or without hair!!! Your beauty comes from within n radiates on the outside! Bravo to you n your journey to looking beautiful! I love ya girlie n you're an inspiration to me n so many beauties out there. I have been following you since my journey of going through stage 4 ovarian n stage 2 thyroid cancers all in one year 3 years ago, which I'm happy to report I'm in remission yaay! You have helped me tremendously in choosing wigs right for me and I have now started my own collection and getting so many compliments on how much younger I look. Haha turning 59 on July 1st n feeling like a million buckaroos woohoo. So thank you dear for your knowledge and spreading your love to each n everyone of us! I always look forward to your next videos.👏
You absolutely MADE MY DAY today! I am thrilled with your healing and recovery! May God continue to bless you with health, wellness and a beautiful heart. Big hugs XOXO
Taz - your bio hair is really cute. I don’t see any real thinness that appears a problem on you, but I know what you mean when you deal with thin hair. Mine has thinned a lot with age, and now chemo has stripped me bald. I look forward to having a style like yours when it starts to grow out again. It might look odd on me, but it will be the “in style”. I too am falling in love with wigs. I love the fact they don’t frizz in southern humidity! Thanks for your modeling all the styles - just wish I had your beautiful face to make all of them look perfect! They really are fun. I’m much older than you and I still love to try to look my best! I could live in your closet all day and have a good ole time trying on wigs.
Tigerroux Hi there! I’m glad you found and embraced Wigs! It’s fun and functional! This pixie is a great way to wear your hair when it grows back. I think you’ll always have Wigs on hand even after your bio hair returns😁. Thanks for the kind comments. I wish you wellness and continued joy in wearing wigs. XOXO
I have watched several reviews of wigs by you and I admire your style. Not just hair styles! I also have very thin hair with patches all over and you have inspired me to do something about it. Except now I love wigs! Thank you for your insight and keep on giving great wig reviews. I watch them all.
I have watched most of your other videos and I must have missed this one, til last night! I must have fallen asleep towards the end (late night) so I am having morning tea and listening and laughing along with you. You are just so personable, Taz. I really enjoy watching and listening to you and learning so much. Thank you***
You are an inspiration to those of us just like you! My bio hair is just like yours. I did the pixie cut for my whole life. I came to wigs just recently but it has helped me feel so good about myself. I always looked good with really short hair but longed for luxurious locks. I too am older, 68 years, and it is time to take care of myself. It is definitely our turn after caring so much for others for so many years! I'm going to try the color now. It looks great on you and I love the color! Bravo to you Taz!
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET I just finished cutting my hair just the way you described. It turned out great! Thanks so much for this video. You gave me courage! LOL!
Taz,you amaze me every time...this has me in tears,I just had a week of hair issues and had cut it myself, trying to decide if I could feel better when I look in the mirror! I always wear a cloth band ,scarf on my head, and like you never would go anywhere with out a wig...but I don't want to hate my hair,I want to learn to love it ,what there is and not fight it but to be my best. I have grandchildren,I want them to always see me be my best, they motivate me to always be my best, love life and not be self obsessed. I keep getting scally sores on my head and that's where I will loose the next batch of hair ,so I can't bleach my scalp, it would be bad ...but thus has really helped me to go the next step,I cut it really short ,now I am going to get out my clippers!!! Thank you for explaining how ,this has given me real courage ,and knowledge to do..like you said what do I have to loose!!! I have watched you since your very first video,I started my wig journey with you,you have really become a powerful and beautiful voice for all of us. I am now 60,and it's hard to believe, but I agree we have to now care for ourselves, the best us yet to come. I love your videos and I truly love you thank you for helping me every step of the way.please keep posting ,keep teaching and reaching hearts.
Terri my long time friend THANK YOU for sharing. We have so much to learn from each other. And I am inspired by all of you just as much as you are from me! I hope you can come to have peace with your bio hair.. and never give up wigs.. they started it all. Without the confidence I got from wearing wigs, I wouldnt have met all you beautiful souls. Much love and gratitude, XOXO TAZ
Taz, I just found this video! You are such a fantastic person! I love the look of your bio hair! You are such a remarkable beautiful lady! Gorgeous inside and out! You really rocked this hair style!❤️❤️
You look so great no one would ever know you are wearing wigs at all. I have lost a lot of my hair just this year. I bought a wig but I have not wore it yet. But I will some day.
You are such a bright soul! Hair loss can be devastating, especially if it comes up all of a sudden out of nowhere. One of the best things one can do about their hair loss is to take control over their bio hair.
It is so important to put ourselves first from time to time. I signed up for a women's weekend workshop at a re(treat)...something I would normally NEVER do for myself. I felt excited and guilty all at the same time. Wouldn't you know when the workshop was canceled, my first thought was, "Oh good, my car needed tires and breaks"!?!...I guess life is a work in progress! Thanks for your vid, Taz..I REALLY needed to hear this!
Thanks for your videos. I am a fairly new wig wearer and had to get color out of my hair so that it would blend better with my new wigs in my sideburn area. I had my hairdresser bleach my hair because she could do it all at once - no in-between bright oranges, etc. They have ways these days to neutralize that issue. Once that was done, she put the new color on. The only thing I wish I had done differently is to NOT let her put a permanent hair color on. The problem was that the color she put on didn't come out as I wished, but since it was permanent, I couldn't go lighter without going through the bleaching process again. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that a professional can do the bleaching and neutralizing all at once.
Girl, you are GORGEOUS! And honestly, your hair doesn't look thin at all, but if you say it is, I believe you. Quick little story. I was at an AT&T store one day (years ago) with my husband. In walks this beautiful girl, short blonde hair just like yours, beautiful face, and phenomenal body. There was something very intimidating about her. The fact that she knew she could rock that short, edgy hairstyle, and still remain as feminine and sexy as any girl in the room had me feeling a little insecure, that's for sure. There are so many more beautiful things about a woman than her hair! Loved this video! 💙💗💜
I work for AT&T in Maryland and rocked a very short, bleached style for many years! It would've been crazy if you were talking about me! BTW, what nice compliments about her❤
You need to make another channel and be an inspirational speaker! Seriously...you are very magnetic and very sincere and genuine...which is what a lot of those speakers are missing. LOL I love your hair color. Now I want to do this to my bio hair!!! How easy to wear. Of course I'd need a face lift as well...so guess I better keep the wigs. :) I just can't stand the thought of elective plastic surgery! LOL I LOVE the fact that you did this on your own Taz!!!! Fantastic job!!!! I would be scared to cut mine due to the fact my hair is so straight, but no problem with the blonde coloring..have done that all my life. YOU GO GIRL...love you lots!!!! xoxo
Thank you so much Betzie. Living our best life is so much more than wigs isnt it? Wigs are amazing things.. but there is so much more to being a happy. I thought about a separate channel, but that was way to ambitious...lol . I have a habit of taking on too much and getting overwhelmed. But I will impart some WHIMSY on my lovely viewers now and again right here. Youre a special person. Thanks so much for the kind comments. XOXO TAZ
you are a great inspiration! i have cancer and had alopecia before my treatment.....now i have very little hair but i still have a tiny bit. i wear my hair very short and have thought about just shaving my head totally but i work in an industry that might not tolerate that. in fact my employer told me to get a wig becuase i am being honored and i need to submit a head shot. at first i was not going to get a wig but then since my husband was very worried about his job i figured id better do my best to keep mine. so i got a wig and now i have several wigs. its fun to play around with them and to start caring about my appearance again. i had not put on make up in years or earrings. now i am starting to have fun with that. next i think i will work on weight loss. you are gorgeous women taz i have watched quite a few of your videos by now and it is so good to have a friend in you to "talk to" cuz i feel like you are talking to me as i could never talk to anyone else about this topic. god bless you. i think i will shave the back of my head like you did. i like how that looks alot. i do not have much of a top to play with but that's ok. i think shaving the back will make it easier to deal with the wigs. i need to use a wig grip band which i'm not thrilled about but it does keep the wigs more secure. i have a size large head and its tough to find wigs in that size .
Hi Taz, you look beautiful, and I love your philosophy on life. Your haircut is very Halli Berry, so you look sheek, not at all masculine. However, I think you an really pull this off because you have a beautiful face and nice head shape. Don’t think I could. Bleaching your hair yourself was an act of bravery😊 and I think you did a great job. Blonde or brunette, this haircut will look good on you. I do feel like my hair feels thicker when I color it too. Thanks, Taz. Love your videos.
Hi Taz, a tip,, use clairol shimmer lights from Sally's to keep the yellow tones down in yr hair, u can also put the shampoo in yr hair when its dry, leave it on 10 min, and it can serve as a toner as well. Beautiful and inspiring video. I love yr bio hair like that.
I keep shortening my cut (currently I have it cut like JR Ruby) and it reduces the unintended parting of the hair at the crown. Also added highlights because it deflects the eye from scalp showing through. Wigs helped me to see that I could get used to the short look (I've usually had a medium bob). I still wear wigs but am learning to make the most of the hair I have. I could not pull off your cut -- but you sure can! It looks great, and thanks for sharing it with us.
Thank you for your courage and honesty. You have encouraged me more than know. You are so beautiful with you oval face, your high cheek bones, and sparkling eyes, your make-up which highlights your beauty. I'm so glad I stumbled on your YT. I wasn't looking for a wig, really! But now I feel like I could really build my self-confidence if I would have the right one for me. Right now I have a Pixie cut out of necessity because after Rotator Cuff surgery on my right shoulder, with my dominate hand at the end of that arm, I couldn't begin to style my, what I called medium length hair. And, I couldn't afford to go to a salon every other day! So, I had it cut into a Pixie, and I thought I would hate, but I've come to like it. I have had thin, wispy blond hair that would never get very long from the day I was born. It wasn't a big deal except when I saw someone my age with beautiful thick braids or pig & ponytails. I couldn't understand why my older sisters couldn't give me those same hairstyles! In my mid to late twenties I had the autoimmune disorder of the Thyroid called Grave's Disease. After a year of taking meds to treat it, I finally had radioactive Iodine treatment. After that my hair was so thin I had to wear a wig for sometime. I didn't enjoy it...this was in the late 60's to early 70's when wigs weren't considered cool. They were always too thick and shiny and unflattering to my light skin tone. They were hot, and in windy Kansas I was always afraid I would lose it with everyone pointing and laughing at me. I've never wanted to wear one again! After seeing you wearing and talking about them, I wonder if I could try it. My hair started to thicken and really looked well when I took a chemotherapy drug to settle the autoimmune inflammation I was dealing with. But chemo isn't a drug one wants to continue too long because of its side effects, so when Mayo said "no more" and my hair lost it's bounce and luster. Thank you for helping me to consider this option again. God bless you for sharing your journey.
I've noticed your bio hair before and thought how cute it looked on you. I had no idea that you created that look all by yourself! About a week ago I took the plunge and sheared off my thin, straggly, grey bio hair with a scissors and my husband's shaver. What a mess! How I wish I would have stumbled across this video prior to doing that. I do get a good laugh each time I look in the mirror. You really are an inspiration, and I can't thank you enough for sharing this precious tutorial so that I'll know how to do it right the next time. I'm going to shop for some Wahl clippers next. xo
AMEN Sista of the Struggle!! I turned 50 last July. I dont know if it's Perimenopause or Empty Nest Syndrome or a combination of both...but, I went thru a Renaissance too!! So, between that female hormone time of life & having my thyroid removed, my hair is falling out in chunks! Thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing your Journey & educating the rest of us FOXY 50 YEAR OLDS!!! 😉😘
Prayon Kreutz Thanks for sharing! I’m excited for this chapter of life...life is learning. Everyday brings something new. God Bless you in your own journey. XOXO
BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! Sassy Taz!! I say: “Go big or go home!” Girl, are you my sister from a different mother? LOL Seriously though! Great advice here! I have so much to say on how I can relate to this, because I did the same thing!! Now I have bleached my hair so many times that I am totally “ICE WHITE!” Once you put on the DISC Ice Platinum Taz and you used the word “FIERCE” I yelled “BOOM”! Because I bleach my VERY FNE, thin hair, after I style it, “AFTER” I use a wee bit of coconut oil as styling cream. Yup, makes my white hair shine. (I can’t wear my nice wigs when I am out riding my Harley), so the coconut Oil helps me to use the “Messy” look to keep on riding! You “OWN” the look Taz! You are a “ROCK STAR!” Now, you have to help me wear longer wigs! I LOVE them on you! Rock on girl!
Thank you dear Faith! YOU are a huge inspiration and a force for positive thinking... and you know how to make a gal feel great! Much Love to you. XOXO TAZ
Taz you are amazing, thank you for doing this for us. I'm not a professional hair dresser but I've been doing my hair myself since I was 16 yrs old. I cut it (only with scissors no clippers.) I haven't done anything with my hair since its beginning to gray along with thinning. You've given me the push I think I've needed. IM DOING IT !!😀
I have baby fine and thinning hair with cowlicks. I tried every product available to grow thicker hair and add volume. I agree -- cutting hair short can make it look thicker. I cut my own hair at home. I LOVE your new hair style. You did a great job with the blonde color. Thank you for this wonderful advice.
You are very brave to tell your story. I thank you very much for sharing. That look will never go out of style. You are beautiful inside as well as outside.
Update: I ordered clippers today from Amazon.....do not think I will try to dye my hair (but who knows) but I am definitely going to cut it. I cannot wait. Thanks so much for your motivation and inspiration (again).
What a beautiful color on you! You just glow from the inside and outside. Thank you for affecting such a change in my attitude and improving my existence through YOUR attitude and encouragement. God bless you and your mission to help those of us suffering from hairloss and depression because of it.
I love this Taz!! I have been dealing with hair loss for years. I love how you tell what it's like to transition with your own biological hair. I've been watching my hair loss progress for quite some time. It's gotten easier to accept with the help of beautiful wigs. I don't know if I will ever get my hair back but its ok if I don't. I will just work on becoming the best me I can be and loving and blessing others everyday. Thanks for your videos.
Liz Andersen I LOVE your philosophy and attitude Liz! Wigs have helped to clear the path to find and embrace my real self.. before wigs I had too much anxiety about my hair. I couldn’t see past it. Now I am free of that burden.. it feels amazing. Thank you! XOXO
I hear ya! I spent years fretting and being depressed about it. It took me a little bit to be comfortable with my first wig, but I got so many compliments on it. It was just like you said a burden was lifted. I thought why didn't I do this sooner. XOXO
If any of you have dead straight shoulder length hair there are some great instructional videos on TH-cam showing how to cut a simple angled bob by making a ponytail and cutting it! Trust me it works great if you have thin hair. If you're going to wear wigs you can retain a short ponytail which you then clip up and it makes a great anchor for wigs at the nape of your neck. I haven't coloured my hair since my teens - the colour is actually the only good thing about it these days - its JR Martini so exactly that if I place a short fringed wig on top of my own shoulder length bio hair it reminds me of Suzie Quatro back in the day (now I really am showing my age lol!)
Taz! OMG, I love your hair! Who knew it could look like this?? You and Pink could be sisters. I have followed your channel for quite a while and have never left a comment. Just want to tell you how much I enjoy your bouncy enthusiasm and your upbeat attitude in life. Your kindness and generosity of spirit shines through in every video, and especially in this one, as you share with others the surprising joy you have found in cutting and coloring your own hair. I also find Sally's be be amazingly helpful. I color my own hair with Wella products since I find the timing never works out with my regular trims -- four weeks for colour versus six or eight weeks for trims and the occasional balayage. I love my stylist but I'll always do the colour myself just for the timing. I had a look at the products you used. I am thinking if you used the Wella powder bleach, maybe twice, and then the toner, you would have that whitish colour you initially wanted. Yay for DIY color! My hair is fine and thin and thanks to you, I don't live in fear of the day when I'll start wearing a wig too. Actually, I'm looking forward to it now. Thank you for all that you do!
Carolyn - thank you so much for sharing these comments! And thank you for the color tips. I love the sharing that happens here. BTW - I love PINK's hair!! Much love and thanks. XOXO TAZ
Thanks Tazs your inspiration, my hair on top is getting more and more bald patches which look awful ! Last month I took the plunge and got my hairdresser to use the razor all of my hair at setting 2. Best thing I could have done as my hair was really thick at the back of my head which irritated me when I wore my wigs . I love the results my wigs fit and feel more comfortable than before. I love my new look but wouldn’t go out without my wigs. Thank you for all your videos hopefully one day I’ll tell people that I wear wigs , but thanks to your positive attitude I think that I’m nearer to being honest about my hair . X Roseann from Scotland
I don’t think I have EVER been so inspired to change my way of thinking. You exude positivity in every way possible, and I could literally watch you talk for HOURS! ❤️ How old were you when you started to notice hair loss if you don’t mind me asking? I would love to have the chance to speak with you sometime. Truly an inspiration.
Hi Taz. I don't think it looks masculine at all. It looks very bad ass!, And very, very sassy! I'm African American, and I did the same thing with my hair a few months ago with me kinky texture and I love it. I still wear wigs, but the shorter shaved sides and my kinky texture on top with a lighter color, helps hide the bald areas. It's very liberating. Especially when I need to do things like yard work in the summer. You look great!
Taz, you have helped me in so many ways. My hair sounds just like yours but I was diagnosed with Alopecia. I have cried so many times over this. So far I have found Top Billing but would love to find other options. Love the Gabor color 14/22ss. Maybe you could give me suggestions. Straight Up With A Twist way too short. You are so special to help others with this problem. Thank you for your time. Paula
I love your energy and enthusiasm for life. I had such a "down" day. I had a lot of my hair cut off today, thinking that would help me to get rid of this, "I hate my hair" feeling. You see, my bleached blonde hair was beautiful, and it was in a beautiful side swept bob. It was my identity! Then my hair finally gave in to being damaged. So I had it dyed brown again. This brown hair and some surgeries for broken back, wrist, & knee from a terrible fall that happened, has really made me lose my identity, so I have been buying blonde wigs lately. Long story, short, YOU have made me feel better. Thank you! What is your most favorite wig & color hands down?
Hermina In USA Hi there! I’m sorry to hear about your struggles with the fall and your hair! I’m glad you found wigs. Ironically, wigs can help will help you discover who you under the hair. The accident..the hairloss.. those events sound like a turning point for you. An opportunity to grow. As a seasoned wig wearer I like to change my style daily.. depending on mood, outfit, etc. that makes it impossible to name a favorite style. I can tell you that right now I’ve been wearing Estetica Deena in RH26/613RT8. Have a beautiful summer! XOXO TAZ
Looks great! I have cut and colored my baby fine, straight thinning hair for years! I use the combination of a Flowbee and Wahl clippers. Probably saved me thousands of dollars over the years. Sometimes I will go into a SportClips and get the taper and fade touched up. Learned how to use the clippers by watching how the barber cut my hair. It was also fun to see the look on their faces at my request!
I can totally relate to your thinning hair problem. I never had really thick hair, but in 2003 I had gastric bypass surgery and my hair started thinning really bad. I was already coloring it the dark brown which was my natural color (I heavily graying natural hair) trying to make it look thicker. Didn’t help much. I did that several years but the thinning was getting worse. So about 2012, i finally went to a dermatologist about it and he said to stop coloring it. So I did. Well I let my gray hair grow about 2 inches then decided I didn’t want to keep looking like a zebra. Years ago I had been a beautician and I knew all about cutting and coloring hair. I had always cut and colored my own hair so one day I went into the bathroom and took out my scissors and went to town whacking off most of the dark ends. When I was done, my hair was shorter than yours. And it was nearly all gray. My hair also had natural waves. Looked like crap, I thought, because it was so drastically different from what I had worn for 20 or more years! I had bought a couple of wigs after my hair had started thinning after my surgery, but I thought they looked horrible and way too wiggy and thick. I had the lady at the wig shop thin it but it still felt wrong on me. I ordered another wig online which was a little lighter color hoping the color and the shorter style would work. Also was sick of my own hair and just felt I needed to cover it up. Then my hair grew more and I finally got all the dark ends off and it was then about the length of yours after trimming, but at least the color was now even but I had not realized my entire head was now all silver. I looked so different. It didn’t look like the me I was used to at all. Then Christmas came around and I had a Christmas party to go to and just bit the bullet and went with my new white, extremely short hair. Everyone complemented me on my new edgy look! Shocker. Took me awhile to get used to having silver hair, but now I’m used to it and it’s still thin although a bit longer but doesn’t look quite as thin as I expected it to look. Like you said, the lighter color blends better with my scalp color. But sometimes I would like to not have to fix my thin, fine hair. I need a silver wig that will look natural, not wiggy, and not way too thick or too short. Can you recommend any for me to try? I have no clue. I bought one silver one and it looked like Dolly Parton’s hair or with the color looked like Paula Deen. Not normal on me. Way too big of hair!
Hello Taz, you look sooo good with your bio hair and of course with wigs. It was a good Idea to bleach your own hair. I love it and your are always so nice and motivating. This is very helpful. Thanks so much. 😘👍
Your bio hair looks better than any wig. I absolutely LOVE it. My hair is almost exactly like the way you describe yours, but only in the bangs. About a year ago I got sick of my hairline receding and the look of flat, thin hair on top, so I cut the front shorter than yours. Mind you, the rest of my hair is past shoulder length and it's soft, straight and smooth. It looked very odd, but I didn't care. At least I had some height. I wore a headband across my forehead and the little crew cut stuck straight up under the band. I also bleached it and the sides platinum. The rest of my hair is dark neutral blonde with platinum streaks that are my natural gray. Can you picture this odd combo? Hah. The weird thing is that my crew cut grew back totally differently than my hair has ever been. It's very wavy, more course and a little frizzy. I'm so unfamiliar with this type of hair but in fact, I love it. So it's grown out to about the length of yours in this video on top and still below shoulder. I am SO tempted to cut it like you did but my problem is that my long hair makes me feel like I still have hair. I can feel it on my neck and I can put it in a ponytail and it blows in the breeze. I don't really care what other people think of it. If I can see some height and feel some hair and it looks OK, I'm doing it. I recently went to a hairdresser for the first time in a few years and she looked perplexed about what to do with it. I wanted her to cut more of the top real short but she couldn't grasp how that would transition into a cut that she was trained to do. The short top didn't go with the long length. She kept saying she had to BLEND the layers. I said WHY? Anyway, she cut a little on top but it basically looks the same. But I'm SO tempted to cut it like yours, or something close. It's true that if you cut it super short, it has more body, will stand straight up and feels thicker. I also have the same kind of patchy thin hair that you do so I'm thinking it would look similar to yours. If I could have hair that looked as good as yours, I would not be wearing wigs. I just don't know. I feel like I would look like a guy and I don't want that. We shall see!! Your picture should be in the dictionary under JOY!! You define what LIFE and JOY are supposed to look like! You have a beautiful heart Taz. Much love and hugs. Maryellen
Thank you so much for posting this! I am new to all of this and you described EXACTLY my issues with my hair! I am pretty sure I'm going to do this!!! Thanks Taz! :)
Your hair is very cute. Mine is just like this, and have worn it like this for years. I’m a licensed hairstylist and bleach or color myself but I have an awesome hairstylist that cuts it for me. Great job and have fun week😁
You look absolutely gorgeous with that style and color! It’s so funny that you posted this because I too have been thinking of doing the exact same thing to my fine thinning scraggly hair. So thanks for the inspiration so much!
Me too! I have been considering this daily, despite my wig expertise. Wish my ears were not the stick out kind....have to leave sides fringed for partial ear conceal! Ive already been cutting my wigs into spiky longish pixies...love it!
Looks to me like you have a very healthy head of bio hair. I can see how this haircut would make it much easier to wear all the wigs you enjoy. You look cute with or without the wigs. I cut my own bio hair. It's a lot longer than yours, but still a lot shorter now than the very long hair I've worn for most of my 70 years. Thanks for sharing.
You have done a very good job on your bio-hair. I’m a hairstylist myself in Germany and I must say I like the style and the color of your hair. Please keep up with your lovely videos , I enjoy your videos after a hard day of work. I wish you all the best. Greetings from Germany. P.S - I’m a wig lover myself 💋👍🏻😊
What a great cut it looks so good and really suits you. I have had short hair most of my adult life and have had every colour just to ring the changes in fact I never have the same colour as the last time. You did a wonderful job and are such an inspiration xoxo
Taz you are the best. Your so kind telling your own story. Loved all you are saying because we each have are own insecurity's. You look really cute I love how you did your cut and color. 💕
Hi TAZ. I am fairly new to wigs. I have baby-fine medium ash blonde hair, highlighted - - that at nearly 70 has become more thin, a little 'patchy', and unmanageable with a couple newly sprouted cowlicks in combination with the different textures that come with the silver/white hair that is taking up residence! A woman's body is an ever-changing landscape it seems - regardless of age. I've never been able to grow my hair much longer than chin length. AND - I have always wished I could wear my hair clipped up in the back in a "casual everyday up-do style" - - - and from watching your videos, it looks like that is possible with a wig. I am wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction regarding straight/curly/wavy and the length necessary to accomplish this style/look? Also, please feel free to just shout out your favorite wig for this look! Smile - I would be most appreciative!! I wear some of the same colors you prefer - the very light, pale blondes with true platinums and possibly?? the silver blondes, etc And, LOL - I like 'edgy' too! :) Your videos are so very, very helpful - love the wig reviews, color comparisons, style comparisons, etc. THANK YOU so much for all you do! Deb
I think it looks great, Taz. Your coloring works with blonde hair. I am not sure mine does. I would have to make it almost grey, since my biohair is very dark. I am a winter and I think you are a summer. I envy summers being able to wear a wider range of colors than winters can. In any case, I like your positive and self-actualizing approach to life. It is good to have a reminder to work with what we have and look, be, and do the best we can. Thank you for this video!
Well said and thank you for referring to Winter and Summer.. seems like a useful way to categorize skin tone and coloring. Right now I am loving everythink PINK.. pink shirt, sweater, accesories, HAIR..lol XOXO TAZ
Taz when you dye dark hair you sometimes need to use a toner to bring out the true blonds. I don’t know the name of color however I know it’s called a toner
Thank you for this...I have been wearing wigs for 7 yrs now. I do have some bio hair that is Very dark but getting silver in the front. I have been toying with this same idea....it looks great on you! My face is sagging far more than yours and I have 18 yrs on you..BUT DOESN’T IT FEEL AS THOUGH YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE?? I am sick of wearing a hat ( wig) every single day! I thank God for them BUT AM LONGING FOR THAT FREEDOM TO JUST BE ME..LUV ME OR LEAVE ME! U R beautiful, and would be with no hair period. Your insides are totally showing!
I loved this video! Thanks so much Taz, you inspire as always. I’ve been thinking about getting my bio hair cut into a pixie for months. I’m definitely going to do it now. Angie💕
I just now found this and thought you’d just colored your hair (it’s 9/22)! I love that color blonde on u Taz! From personal experience, T-18 is a true ‘miracle’ toner color. If T-18 doesn’t fix the “oopsy” I know of nothing else that will. I’m not a hair colorist. Ive just made several “oopsies” and T-18 put out the “fire” in more ways than one!
Thank you for being the sweetheart and light that you are. At 56 I have finally learned how to make my own internal peace and well-being my highest priority. I relate completely to your hair story. Mine doesn't get past a certain length and it is as wispy as a babies. I love all of my wigs and yes! They have changed my life profoundly. Love you!!!
I would like to see your very first wig. Do you still have it? And if there is a video showing it, may I have the link? Thank you Taz...I'm beginning my collection of wigs two...one not so good, the other is lovely and long. You're my inspiration .
Love the look! there are sometimes when if you can rock bio hair its just easier and prolongs the life of your wig too. I love that you have options. Thx for sharing
Dear Taz - You are so brave! I am a licensed Cosmet. who has been wearing wigs for about 8 yrs now due to Endocrine failure and extreme hair loss. I want to complement you on your color & cut. You nailed it, and it looks fantastic!! My only question is how do you keep your wigs secured with hair so short? I keep mine at a Bob length (that I can put into a braid and pin up) so that I have something for bobby pins or I sew clips into my wigs. I would love to go short but am afraid that my wigs would rise up in the back etc. Please let me know how you are able to keep your wigs nice and secure with you hair short. Many thanks in advance, Tess
Terenia Hi and Thank you Tess! That means a lot! I don’t use anything to secure my wigs. I must have a perfect head for wigs. If your wig is slipping it’s due to an ill fitting cap or something with the head structure preventing a secure fit. Check your measurements. Make sure you’re buying the right size wigs. If all that is good, try a wig grip.. a headband that prevents slippage. Also wig tape and adhesive such as It Stays. This is a lot of info.. you have to get to the cause of the slippage so you know how to fix it. Hope this helps!! XOXO
Hi Taz - Thank you very much for your reply and info. I tend to get headaches if too tight. Or, it's insecurity that it may slip?? Not sure but I'll try to adjust fit to see if that helps. Again, many thanks! Terenia
Thank you for the wonderful encouraging informative video! You look always good with wigs, but I love how you look without the wig as well. I have decided to cut my own hair like you. I am going to order the Wahl hair clipper (color coded). Is that the one did you use to cut your hair? If you don’t mind, can you give me more tips on cutting my own hair, please? I do not think I will not color the hair. I had enough for a long time……., Again, thank you!
Compassion by someone who has walked the same path that I, and many others have, is the most beautiful gift you give us. With my eyes full of tears, I thank you!
You are a beautiful lady with hair, without hair, wig or no wig! Enjoy your new look Taz! 💕💕💕
Thanks so much my friend. I AM enjoying it so much. XOXO TAZ
XOXO TAZ
What a lovely and inspirational video my friend, I must say you look rather cute in that pixie style darling, you did a good job. xoxoNisha
Hello and Thank you my friend! It's interesting my bio hair came out so well.. when I've hid it for for so many years. Much love and XOXO TAZ
And your another favorite Nisha. When you two do your wig reviews it's amazing your both so sweet and amazing. I love watching. Keep up all the good that you are doing!
@@cathyolague9408 Ditto!!!!
You totally rock that bio hair!
Your bio hair looks FANTASTIC! Such a cute, fun, classy, edgy cut :)
THAT HAIRDO IS ADORABLE. WHAT A GIFT YOU ARE TO OTHERS!
You look great Taz, no one would ever know that you had a problem with your hair.
You absolutely rock this hair cut. Thank u so much for the inspiration u give us😍
You are such an inspiration to me.
Thanks a million my friend! This was easier than I thought thanks to your help. Much love to you XOXO TAZ
You did an amazing job! I have started thinning my wigs after watching your video demo. I may start cutting my own bio hair now, too! Thank you for the inspiration!
It looks very attractive!!! Over the next 6 months maybe you could take some pictures as it grows out.
Big hug. Xxxxxxx
Thanks a million! This was great feedback and I really appreciate it. Much Love, XOXO TAZ
It looks fierce! You are inspiring. I've been pondering cutting / buzzing mine. Thank you for the tips.
🥰🥰🥰
My thinning hair has finally lead me to a place and you were there. You uplift, educate, calm, nurture and give me hope that there will be a new quality of living as I begin my new wig journey soon. The first one is ordered and shipped. I am trying to be patient and still grieve the decision to "give up" on my bio hair. Your videos have meant so much due to your positive outlook. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
Your hair looks absolutely amazing! You rock every wig in your shop and now you’ve made your hair look pretty
I love your spirit and attitude Pam! It very much reflects my own! Love and Luck, TAZ XOXO
Super cute cut and beautiful color ... and you did it all yourself WOW! Totally impressed! Smiles, Stella
You are such a bright soul! Hair loss can be devastating, especially if it comes up all of a sudden out of nowhere. One of the best things one can do about their hair loss is to take control over their bio hair.
You look absolutely gorgeous! Bio or wigs, you look fantastic! Love, Francine xxx
Taz, Thanks for sharing. May God bless you for helping so many others be comfortable again.
Tax, you are so knowledgeable about the wig transformation. I want to thank you for you helping us through the journey
Thank you Linda😍
Beautiful! You can absolutely go anywhere wigless with that hairstyle.
Wow, I'm blown away by this. You have no idea how much this helped me today. Thank you:))
What city/state were you in?
Corpus Christi, Tx 😊
I work for AT&T in Maryland and rocked a very short, bleached style for many years! It would've been crazy if you were talking about me! BTW, what nice compliments about her❤
Oh how funny! That would have been wild! I'm sure the same things were said about you by other women! 💙💗💜
Awww thanks! You're sweet
XOXO TAZ
Thank you for all your wonderful videos and telling us your personal story.
You’re the sweetest. ❤️
Fantastic encouragement! I'm 52 and my always thin hair is thinning more. I'm ready for something sassy in a wig. Thanks again Taz!
you are a great inspiration! i have cancer and had alopecia before my treatment.....now i have very little hair but i still have a tiny bit. i wear my hair very short and have thought about just shaving my head totally but i work in an industry that might not tolerate that. in fact my employer told me to get a wig becuase i am being honored and i need to submit a head shot. at first i was not going to get a wig but then since my husband was very worried about his job i figured id better do my best to keep mine. so i got a wig and now i have several wigs. its fun to play around with them and to start caring about my appearance again. i had not put on make up in years or earrings. now i am starting to have fun with that. next i think i will work on weight loss. you are gorgeous women taz i have watched quite a few of your videos by now and it is so good to have a friend in you to "talk to" cuz i feel like you are talking to me as i could never talk to anyone else about this topic. god bless you. i think i will shave the back of my head like you did. i like how that looks alot. i do not have much of a top to play with but that's ok. i think shaving the back will make it easier to deal with the wigs. i need to use a wig grip band which i'm not thrilled about but it does keep the wigs more secure. i have a size large head and its tough to find wigs in that size .
Thank you for sharing some of your story with us! I wish you WELLNESS and much much joy wearing wigs and enjoying your life:-) XOXO
It seems super short styles may make wearing wigs easier without pinning up and restraining the bio hair. Tempting I may go pixie for bio hair.
In my mid to late twenties I had the autoimmune disorder of the
Thyroid called Grave's Disease.
You did a great job! Hair looks fantastic!
Thank you, Taz, for this video and for your self disclosure. You are beautiful inside and out. ♥️
I'm going to shop for some Wahl clippers next. xo
This is fantastic! What a sense of freedom you must feel! Mine is due for a buzz..lol. Enjoy your day! XOXO
Thank you for the comments Barbra:-) XOXO
4everArtista Thanks for the comments and encouragement! I’m so glad you enjoy your short cut too. It does feel great! XOXO TAZ
YOUR HAIR LOOKS AMAZING. YOUR BEAUTIFUL WITH AND WITH OUT A WIG!
Adorable! Great job explaining yourself too. 😘
Thank you for all that you do for women, like me, with thinning hair! Hugs, Susan
Diane Johanson Thanks for comments! You might try some Ellen Wille styles..the density is more natural than most brands💕💕💕
TAZSWIGCLOSET Thank you. My other problem is finding wigmakers who have silver color hair in a style I like, more like a pageboy cut.
Deb
hello, what wig are you wearing in the video where you explained your wig journey from the beginning? its it Jackson by chance??/
Sorry, I am not wearing a wig in this video:-) XOXO
Exactly. My mother is a summer and she loves pink, blue and lavender. You are so lucky!
proud of you girl! you are glowing!!
Beautiful feedback XOXO TAZ
You look fantastic!!!! And so happy! Do you have any idea how many women would love hair like yours?
Looks stunning ... when I saw it I thought it was a bit Lori'esque 😊 think the spiked/ruffled Pixie really ought to now be renamed the Lori B 😁
Love you!!!
Sounds like we have much in common! Thank you for the comments! XOXO
Taz, you look so good in your bio hair. Seeing you in this color was shocking, but stunning. I hope you enjoy sporting your new look.
Thank you Geri! It was a fun experiment. I will absolutely do this again Much love to you my friend. XOXO TAZ
I must say, you did a fantastic job!! You look beautiful!!

Exactly right! I sport my natural 'do a lot more these days:-) XOXO
you look georges in your bio hair! so sporty ,fresh and clean look. God bless
Here's another video that may help! th-cam.com/video/ZvEIRlt0gfA/w-d-xo.html
