"These blokes just do not get tired of attacking, if they did they would just be replaced by more blokes" "The keeper is legging it" this guy is a genius.
"The balls gone out for a corner, oh wait their continuing to play on, blatant cheating is going on, but with men with sticks you can't blame the refs for wanting play on" Don't know if I got it word for word, but that part was funny
This was hilarious. I'm Canadian, and with the way they commentate here, I'd rather see(hear) this instead. We take hockey as our number 1 spectator sport, and curling as number 1 participation sport, so, we love the sports with ice to play on, and watch. Don't forget about tobogganing, skiing, skating... When he mentioned the goalie fleeing in terror, I laughed my head off. Like the end scene of Home Alone...except everyone has a beard.
+Rwidzy 15 hockey there are hockey leagues in the UK? I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I didn't know that. I'm from Canada, love hockey way too much to be healthy (when something interferes with work, school, or relationships.... as the saying goes). I've never heard of a British team. And I've travelled over there! That is so awesome! I'm way too pumped about this. sorry lol... gonna Google it now! (PS: Do they drop the gloves and have a good scrap ever?)

+D Will To give you a bit more of an insight. Our league here in Britain are probably on par/slightly lower level than the ECHL. A lot of North American players that come over here usually come from that league or have good experience at that level or higher, but the higher end players are usually the guys who weren't good enough to play regularly at AHL/NHL level so sorta use our league as a springboard for jobs in Europe. In our top league over here, we have 10 teams spread all over the UK. Scotland being (Fife, Braehead - which is in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee), Northern Ireland (Belfast), Wales (Cardiff) and England (Nottingham, Sheffield, Coventry Manchester). As it's not a well backed sport in this country, the league is split into 2 conferences with Manchester + Scotland and then the rest in the other. Conference teams play each other 3 home and 3 away and opposite conference teams 2 home 2 away. - The main difference is the league title is the one fans want in this country. We have a cup competition and then the playoffs which is a bit farcial (top 8 in a NHL style format, but play 1 home 1 away. Overall winners play in a finals weekend, both semi's on the Saturday and the final on the sunday in a 'neutral' venue.) Going back to the more highlighted players we've had over here. In the 04? lockout, we had the likes of Nick Boynton, Ian Moran, Wade Belak to name a couple! - My team (based in Nottingham) have David Ling (has played in the show, recently left us), and most recognizable names from more recent times are Juraj Kolnik (ex-florida panther) and Cam Janssen (Ex- Blues and Devils) so although they're closer to the end of their careers than the start, these are the names and high profile players we'd love to attract more of in the league. Nottingham loves an enforcer, and Janssen has quickly become a fan favourite in Nottingham since joining us in the summer! - Not to say though we're a goon team or league despite what I know some NA natives may think Financial backing is the main thing for us. It's not a recognized sport in this country, As you might have seen from the teams, we don't have a London team. (Liquidated in 03 I believe) which is certainly a drawback. Our biggest arena holds 10,000 (in Sheffield) then the likes of Nottingham and Belfast hold 7,500 and 6,500 respectively. - If you're interested in British Ice Hockey further and want to know anything else. Feel more than free to reply and let me know and we can communicate via facebook/email whatever! But I think I've covered all the basics! Ryan :)
Wow thanks for the info! Its nice to hear from someone who clearly shares my passion for hockey! Are there any major differences in rules? Do you use the Olympic (international) size rink which is a bit wider than north american ice I believe? How about the old no two line passing rule which prevented one player from "cherry picking" behind the other teams defence and waiting by himself for an aerial pass and an easy breakaway? I assume you use standard offside rules. Oh! Do the refs where those awful cow uniforms with all the ads plastered on the ass, legs, and backs? (Like you see in Switzerland and some European leagues) Thanks man! Oh one more - fights? Five mins in the box or unheard of?
D Will Yeah we do. In Nottingham, we're blessed to have 2 Olympic pads alone, one being used for our pro team. Other for part-time, development etc. We don't appear to have the 2 line pass. The tactic you do seem to see a lot, is where a team have possession in the defensive zone from a FO, a player will go for a change and someone will be released from the opposite end of the bench and the boards will be used to give him a breakaway. But standard offside rules are in use yes. Refs, just your standard black and white, not stickered up with sponsorships like the majority of Europe is. Fights? Oh we have fights, think the ruling is pretty much the same in the NHL. 5 mins, but three in a game and you're out. I think a fight in the last 2 minutes carries an automatic 1 game suspension or disaplinary action from the league. I'm sure there's something similar in place in the NHl if I'm correct?!
Hao Xu How so? There's longer distance to run with a larger field thus the game's slower. A handball court is way smaller than a football pitch, though scores can go up to 30-28. It's really not a matter of size, it just all depends on rules, balls and how difficult it is to score...
GordonFan3 Soccer balls have more velocity, so they are more bouncy. That is why the score in soccer equivalent to hockey. Also, goalkeepers in soccer have to have very fast reactions, so they are quick to bat or catch the ball before it goes into the net.

Americans are accused of being insular, but at least they know the basic rules and strategy of soccer since many played the game in their youth. I remember two NFL games played in London when the crowd booed because the QB took a knee to run the clock out, like wtf
comments old but I have to point out the fact that the totally NOT insular American didn't know that this was satire and that the Brits DO actually understand hockey (as many actually play it).
Satire huh... uh yeah, sure Many Brits actually play hockey, really. What's your definition of many? The number of lagers a chav drinks on a Tuesday night, or a Saturday night
D Will Hockey in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales. The EIHL, the NIHL. It's pretty popular these days. My arena hold 8,500 and we sell that out. Old comment but, waddup ✌

"It's like the ending to Home Alone, except everyone has a beard."
Brilliant.
Max Shore I wonder if the NHL would ever consider using that as a slogan.
"mary poppins look how small the goals are! the size of a match box guarded by an overzealous beekeeper!" fuckin hilarious
the beekeeper line had me in stitches lol
And they still score more often than in soccer.
"These blokes just do not get tired of attacking, if they did they would just be replaced by more blokes"
"The keeper is legging it" this guy is a genius.
"Give it a good polish, should have done it earlier, I mean, you've had a whole year" lolll

Best part was IMO when Lucic and Thornton were sniffin ammonia: "Lads puttin their pre-game lipstick, making sure they look their best." :D
Why are they sniffin ammonia?
iM3 Phirebird have you never heard of smelling salts! It has ammonia in it!
iM3 Phirebird clears the nasal passage so they can breath easy and get more energy

Over zealous bee keeper.
Austin Duffield l
"What a finish! Icy Teddy Sheringham, he poached it on the line" Lol
Wasn't it Solskjaer who won it, though?
Sheringham got the equalizer minutes before that though
It's like the end scene in Home Alone, but everyone has a beard. Hahaa!
This is my favourite video on the internet
You Sir, are a LEGEND ! ! ! If only we could get Rugby League or Australian Rules called like this . . .
"Be still my beating fanny" 😫😫😫😭😭😭
and he is fleeing the stadium in terror come back you coward lol best part in my opinion
The player with the red card is returning to the pitch! Anarchy!
Fleaing the stadium in terror that's funny
Being a Bruins fan, this made this loss less painful :P
Ironic how he says how the goals are really small but in Soccer the nets are bigger and they end up having about the same score as hockey...
The pitch's way bigger though, so is the ball...
Stuart Tusspot It's easier to score with a larger field/ice/court...
Hao Xu How so? There's longer distance to run with a larger field thus the game's slower. A handball court is way smaller than a football pitch, though scores can go up to 30-28.
It's really not a matter of size, it just all depends on rules, balls and how difficult it is to score...
I bet that a soccer goal and ball would be comparable to a puck and hockey net per capita. But hockey has a much larger bee-keeper.
GordonFan3 Soccer balls have more velocity, so they are more bouncy. That is why the score in soccer equivalent to hockey. Also, goalkeepers in soccer have to have very fast reactions, so they are quick to bat or catch the ball before it goes into the net.
The wholeNHL needs more commentary like this
"But everyone's calmed down by a kindly Canadian."
Next time I see a fight break out, I'll be sure to smack my windows as hard as I can.
GOD DAM EELS IN OVERCOATS
The third half. XD
wish he would have done a commentary on a game with a fight lol
It's like the end scene in home alone but everyone has a beard 😂
"...their attack might as well been a load of ghosts..." 😂😭
Come back you coward!
"Sloppy seconds for him"
dude wheres my car its over there watching a cracking game of ice hockey 🤣😅😂🤣
Someone finally made hockey some slight semblance of entertaining!
Good job, guys!
+B. T. If hockey isn't entertaining, no sport is.
Been a long time waiting for another commentary. Welcome back

Hey didn't they have a guy drafted by Arizona?
The third half?
The goalkeeper has returned ! thats excellent they'll be pleased with that.
Third half!
it's Anthony Richardson from jinx TV!
Tiny nets, size of a matchbox and guarded by an over-zealous bee-keeper..lol.
Bad? That's awesome.
Why did they have to show the 17 seconds game
*WHY*
This is the best thing ever it's so funny
This is not bad commentary. It's funny and entertaining.
I never thought I would laugh at a video that shows the bruins lose

I'm shocked; shocked to hear him pronounce "Chicago" correctly!
What's the wrong pronunciation of it?
Hattie B
The way it's spelled.
"She-ka-go"
+WhiteCamry Shocked that the English can actually pronounce English?
+Auxodium The word "Chicago" is from a Native American language, not English
We need British commentators for the nhl
This is amazing.
Can we trade Paul Romanuk for this guy or nah?
