I slept on one recently on vacation, and it's the only time ever I've regretted getting back to my home bed. These things, with the foam padding, are the best sleeping cots/beds I've ever been on. Ignore the size. Buy the bed, and build the rest of your camp around it.

  • @TangoCowabunga

I used it as a bed for 6 months during my travels and it’s wonderful!
Also, use it in my 6 person 12x9ft tent and I still have a lot of room in my tent.
So much room in the 12x9ft tent,
I plan to get a 10x10ft and see if I like it.

I went the cot route too. I'm not as tall but I'm older and have become a great weather station all my own from creeks and groans to barometric pressure. With cots, small tents are out of the question. Tarps and wall tents will be the best bets and if you use your ingenuity you can figure out a system almost like the tent cot which is made commercially.

Teton Sports has tents that fasten to the top of the cot, so that's an option. I just purchased the smallest Teton Sports Adventurer Cot 75"x25"x17" and I use it with a Springbar Compact Canvas Tent 6'x8'x52". But using it under a tarp is a good option too, or there are many tents that would fit your XXL size cot.

My tent days are over. For the last few years I have been slowly building a cheap offroad camper trailer using a Kenworth 60" sleeper cab as the structure. It has a nice bed and "wildlife resistant" walls. What used to be the front opening is now the right side with a door. Hopefully I'll get around to finishing it up in the next year or so.

There are actually quite a few larger tents that would fit that cot, that are quick and super easy to set up. Even without bugs, having some walls brings a sense of being secure and you would probably sleep better than under a tarp or your canopy.

I was looking at buying that cot for a while. I have a bad back, etc. and was looking for something that could be set up fast. It is designed to be used with a Kodiak Canvas Swag 1 Person Canvas Tent. Just google it and you will see how it fits on top. I swagged a lot while in the outback of Australia and loved the versatility and speed of this type of outdoor tent. It was super comfy too. Tents are okay but the assembly/disassembly of them is a huge bummer for me. Swags just get rolled up and stored away. Your sleeping bag can even stay in the swag while it is folded. I have a JK unlimited too and the size of the folded cot was a huge negative for me as the JK as so little space. I'm still looking for the ideal solution but I came mightily close to buying this cot. Love the channel!

Buy a mattress pad that looks like an egg carton at Walmart and cut to size. You can double it for thickness by buying a double size pad. Go to a fabric store clearance area and buy enough material to make a big "pillow case" cover. If you make it longer than the pad, you can fold in the end inside itself or make a flap to velcro it to the back side of cover. Alot cheaper than any pre-made pads sold on the market for cots. If your budget allows, go to a foam mattress store that cuts to size and have a 2" pad cut to the size of your cot. They may even make a cover for you for a fee. I did the egg carton idea, doubled up with the big pillow case and it works great! The cover can be washed when needed.

City folk lol. That cot would be perfect for my 5 meter bell tent of my buddies outfitter tent. We hunt elk in montana and have large tents with wood stove because we spend any where from a week to two in the mountains and like a nice cot . if you use a small backpackers tent and expect a dever mattress comfort think again . if your not far from your vehicle when tenting check out a bell tent on Amazon . they are 4 season comfort . then you can use the big cot and a couple chairs inside the tent when its raining or night .

Do you have any footage in your other videos of you actually using this or just napping in it while camping or outdoors? I would love to see this in action with more reviews of your overall assessment of this giant cot

The width is only 2 inches wider than a twin mattress. (taking out the bars, likely exactly the same). Not really a queen. (I know you were joking!) Sounds about right to me!
