      @@derbohrkopf the looter may seem weird at first but I think it was my really great idea xp the other cards are kinda obvious, but the looter's second ability can transform it into the oculus and into the valgavoths faithful which is very helpfull

      @@guilhermeruzene791 i was diggin for it but it was really lucky xp it's only a two of xp the deck is fine against a card like the ghost vaccuum but Rest in piece is really hard to beat. I never thought i'd win this game after losing the first one.
      Usually jace is a great threat in a long game because i can get it back with the overlord. But rip stops that too

    What a game it was in the end. Arne, the Immortal. You can cut his hand, but you cannot kill him.

    Nice! This deck looks fun. I always enjoy Elspeth's cards, and I love a lot of the artwork in cards like Beza and Enduring Innocence haha!

    I kind of like sunder the gateway as my go-to enchantment/artifact removal rather than exorcise in my caretaker decks. It's basically a 3-for-1 when you get to draw from the caretaker trigger. I also like collector's vault as a handy way to cycle cards and get an additional caretaker trigger.

    Against Red and Gruul, which I imagine were very popular, especially in best of one, you just need a ton of one and two mana removal. I think the deck plays so much removal because it's trying to "prey" on those decks.
    It even plays a ton of exile removal, looking to fizzle the death triggers. If Gruul and Red (and incidentally non go-wide aggro) is not a huge part of the meta, then you can definitely adapt the list.
    Those two Kayeas with only 4 black generating lands look questionable though. I'm guessing, in a pinch you can create a treasure with Fountainport for the second black mana.
    I also question, whether or not this deck would actually be better with 25 lands, instead of 24.

    Hey Arne, would love to see you play some of the less popular Pioneer decks from the DC RC, like mono B midrange, or the Dimir Rogues deck with new Kaito (personal fave, did not do well).

    Do TH-cam think that a variation with more black cards in main deck (like the kaya pw cost 4, or preacher of the scism) would be a good ideia? Maybe use duress in side and fabled passage in main to increase the amount of black mana we can find.
    Anyway, im so glad you're back. I love your videos.

    • @derbohrkopf
      @derbohrkopf 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the problem with this is that as soon as you play more black cards you will lose lay down arms and playing four fountainports is also difficult, there is obviously an argument for it though

      @derbohrkopf LDA is a great removal but even playing monowhite, but when there are creatures with 6 or more CMC, you'll want a get lost anyways

    • @RalphBurner
      @RalphBurner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@derbohrkopf I think at that point when you play that many black cards, you play cut down or go for the throat for removal instead of LDA.

    Season of burrow would be great in the sideboard good in the mirror and also returns talent way better then serra perragon

  • @KoshoShinogi

    Okay, so it's a strictly better Mentor of the Meek. But I have yet to be convinced that Enduring Innocence is a better card draw engine than Tocasia's Welcome in these types of decks. Tocasia's is easier to cast and triggers off more things. Not to mention that if you ever get a Caretakers Talent up to level 3, that alone turns off any card draw from tokens, whereas Tocasia's would remain unaffected.

      @Akatsuu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I play a version with Overlord and yeah, it's way better than Beza 99% of the time. Plus you can just tilt your deck slightly more against aggro and you won't ever miss the Beza.

      Beza works well against aggressive decks but it's a bit mediocre against decks that are a bit slower. Definitely cut one of the Bezas for an overlord.

    • @Akatsuu
      @Akatsuu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RalphBurner It almost never plays as well against aggro as you expect though. The current aggro decks (mostly Leyline Gruul/Rakdos) are filled with a) ways to kill you before you can ever cast a 4 drop, in which case Beza doesn't matter, b) flyers, trample, and flings in which case your durdly 4/5 and 2 1/1s isn't removing or sufficiently blocking their threats which is all they care about, and the 4 life is pretty meaningless against those decks 90% of the time. By turn 4 you're likely

    I wonder why nobody is playing Overlord of the Mistmoors in this deck. Can play it on 4, can play it on 7, its a token maker for Innocence/Talent, and then you just have this annoying creature that makes tokens every turn in the late game. I don’t think it should be a 4-of because Beza is definitely the better 4 drop, but you could probably make room for 2.
