He got the ball on his hands and every play ran through him to an extent that's completely unfound in any competitive playoff team. He had all the time and opportunities he needed to get into rhythm and the greenlight to keep shooting even if he had missed 10 times in a row. He could dribble the ball off his foot or shoot an airball all game and still had every play run through him. That's the do or die Harden ball that fans don't buy. It's absolutely meaningless to say he has the "best" games, because that's just by accumulation from unlimited ball hogging.

      He’s 34. I don’t agree with thin necessarily but maybe he’s trying to find the right fit for himself. He doesn’t have years to waste in a situation anymore and maybe Philly didn’t give him the long term stability he wanted. Maybe he just wants to be in LA at this point in his career. Maybe he thinks the clippers can build a better contender even if they don’t extend kawahi or Paul George. Maybe he feels the Sixers front office is useless which it is and doesn’t want to waste more time there. Maybe he feels like his game doesn’t mesh with Joel despite being the mvp. Who really knows. It’s not a good look for sure but nba careers are finite and he’s on the back end of it and probably won’t waste away in a situation he isn’t satisfied with at this point.

    • @thomasblank2353
      @thomasblank2353 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Maybe because he knows that his game is hurt by Embiids game. It was obvious that harden was much more effective with EMbiid sitting. The defense was poor when EMbiid sits but the offense is predictable an inefficient against the celtics when he was on the floor. If I am harden, I would want to leave even if both places paid minimum wage. You have to go where your skills can be used effectively and that was not in phila or the nets after their roster was decimated by injury and cost saving measure that stripped the bench in 2021. The nets and rockets are rebuilding with all the talent and picks they got, they were not going anywhere anyway with their management. Winning in the NBA is almost as much a product of ownership and management as it is the player talent. Just look at the heat, NOBODY had them even getting out of the first round. Jimmy butler was a team cancer in minnesota and the philly coaches.mgmt didnt want him either, preferring tobias harris. But now with one of the best organizations and coaches, Butler is a top 10 player.

    • @thomasblank2353
      @thomasblank2353 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Walrus286 No because all the contenders are capped out and can only trade to get him, simple enough. He was never interested in houston with all those young guys. The heat cant sign lillard if he was a FA either, they need to exchange salaries like the clippers and most every team except the rockets who had enough cap space. He signed the opt in so his salary of 35.6M could be traded to limit cap taxes which are 3 or 4x the amount exceeded for the 2nd tier. The new cba will cripple teams giving out max salaries. 76ers will have issues with adding talent to maxey and Embiid too when maxey gets his extension which will likely be a max.

    • @thomasblank2353
      @thomasblank2353 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Walrus286 if you do a little homework, none of th econtenders have cap space to sign FA. The new CBA puts up to a 4x tax on exceeding the 2nd apron So a 30M spend may cost up to 120M. 76ers will run into this when maxey gets his max extension. The clippers cannot sign a FA without exceeding the 2nd apron same with heat and bucks etc. So signing harden as a FA for 30M may actually cost the team 120M/yr. Harden may have wanted to go home to LA where he grew up and the clippers could contend if healthy. Nothing is assured though, Embiid is prone to getting hurt too. So in order to get to a contender he had to be in a sign and trade where he did the signing. Morey will trade him eventually or they will lose him next summer as a UFA for nothing. So yeah no one else wants to pay 120M a year for harden not surprising. New CBA details werent known till a few months back. This will make players less likely to be signed as a FA and more likely in sign and trades.

    • @Walrus286
      @Walrus286 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thomasblank2353 they’re not trading for him because there is no market value. So non-contenders don’t want to pay him, and contenders don’t want to trade anybody of value for him. He moves at half speed, eats up 14 seconds on each possession, can’t play remotely decent defense, and disappears if his step back isn’t falling. He opted in, his best chance of winning anything is on the sixers but he’s too afraid to run it back because of how humiliating his performances were in games 6 and 7.

Could it be that everything was agreed upon from the start? After opting out pf more money last year he inexplicably opts IN to less money this year. Again this only helps morey and gives the team all the leverage. Doesn't make any sense. I think we're getting played and Morey and harden are lockstep with each other. • @thomasblank2353
      @thomasblank2353 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      just business and playing with Embiid reduces his ability to contribute. Just not compatible talent. Embiid will never work well with a dominant wing who needs the threat of penetration to get spacing on his defender as Embiid clogs up the lane area with his defender(s). Watching the celtics zone, nobody on the 76ers was finishing at the rim, even maxey was blocked 3x. Unless Embiid is used in a way to open up the floor(not sure is is good enough from 3), and until he passes effectively out of double teams, harden cannot help the 76ers. He actually played better with EMbiid off the floor as did maxey. Now defensively the team cratered without Embiid, so they just dont have the right pieces. More process ahead. And yes harden may not believe his sacrificing his game is enough to matter. 76ers need to do a better job putting talent together, they have poor rebounding and transition defense with or without harden. Giving up easy buckets is seriously demotivating and kills trust. 76ers gave up tons of easy buckets to the C's.

    • @thomasblank2353
      @thomasblank2353 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anshgombar7173 I thinhk EMbiid does fine with harden but hardens efficiency drops vs playing small ball. In order for EMbiid to be the best player in the league he has to be a much more effective passer setting others up. ANd the 76ers have to push him for less offense and more defense in this energy. for example he would benefit the team more if he would go for 27/15 vs 33/10. When EMbiid takes up so many plays the guys around him watch, they are probably thinking he will just shoot. THis hurts ball movement and Embiids ability to make plays for others. When he is making plays for others the opponents defense works harder, his own offense will be more energetic and efficient(open shots). Also you dont want to run with him on the floor due to his size and injury history, he can keep up sometimes but then he has less gas in the tank late. I would think a jrue holiday pr CP3 would be a better fit with Embiid, and small ball sure is not a fit with Embiid but its hardens wheelhouse. You dont want a guard that creates a lot if you want EMbiid to be a scoring magic johnson at center. If he modeled his fundamentals after jokic( more passing and more rebounding) he is less predictable and can have more energy to take over late. Give paul reed 10 more minutes a game, rest Embiid more. His stats will suffer but scoring leaders rarely win championships outside MJ and even MJ's bull were better when he scored less than 40. Dominating stats should not be a goal if you want to win. Its time for E,mbiid to make a sacrifice and a defensive PG who can shoot but not necessarily be focused on creating off the dribble would match up with him better. If Embiid is going to hang in the lane area he needs to create a lot more for his teammates as their penetrations inside will be limited by the defense he draws. He also needs to be much better at NOT turning the ball over, he was the worst all star int he playoffs in asst/TO ratio, too many TO's.

      Yes as you age you get slower but I still see him getting by defenders, don't have the quickness he used to have but that's where experience comes in refound hos midrange game and the greatest part about his game he can create for others basketball is not just about scoring there's also rebounding steals assists but you wouldn't know that.

      Sixers fan as well. Im not pissed that hes leaving, although with him, we are pretty much guaranteed 50 wins and a spot in the final four of the Eastern Conference. That being said, thats not enough, and while hes a great playmaker, he does shrink in the playoffs, and is pretty bad defensively.
      What DOES bother me, is him wanting out, and being vocal about it, atleast to his sources, is that we now will most likely get very little for him, and we gave up a ton to get him. Not all his fault, fine, but still.
      He seems to ask for trades a lot lately, but if he did give up seven or eight million last year, to get Tucker or whomever, and Morey hinted we would tear the contract up and commit to him long term, id be a lil pissed too. While hes a very rich guy, that is a lot of money, and its not something a lot of guys do in the NBA.
