The end of an era. I grew up watching Chuck, Shaq, Kenny & Ernie on Inside the NBA on TNT. So many great memories and great im extremely thankful to have witnessed that 4 man group talk about the game and entertain the entire NBA fan base across the globe. Farewell tour for Chuck is a must ❤️🙏🏾

Charles has always been a legend. Never be another one like him
Chuck is the biggest part of a young migrant kid like me, freshly arrived in Australia becoming a die hard fan and lifetime viewer of the NBA. The man was a trendsetter and an absolute beast of in the glorious 90s ball era, with career stats that rival Kareem and Magic, Hakeem and other 🐐. Averaging above 21pts, 11rbs and 2 stls for his career, Olympic gold medalist, MVP, countless 1st Nba team and all star call ups Sir Charles isn't just a tip 50 all time he is quite literally Basketball Royalty. Even in sports journalism's and presenting the man is captivating, charismatic and funny as hell. A menace on the court and a masterful career. May he enjoy his next chapter of retirement relaxing with a storied career to reminisce on and remind us all what greatness, toughness and charmn should look like.

I don't think he's lying if he somehow gets to keep his deal he just signed last year...but that seems doubtful. He said he becomes a free agent if TNT loses the NBA. Maybe he gets some money, but I'd think there's no way he's getting the full deal he signed last year if he becomes a free agent. I would guess he starts thinking about all that money he would have had if TNT keeps/kept the NBA after next year. He probably doesn't need any of it, but that's more money for himself and his family (or that he could give to charitable causes, who knows). He said he's talked to other networks.....so maybe he knows the offers and he's ok retiring. But I just imagine NBC gets the NBA and throws a boatload of money at him - the same or more than what his recent deal was......plus he's gonna hear from everyone how they want him on TV.....and we get to have Charles back on whatever NBC's post game show will be. or maybe he retires and then comes back after a year or two after he gets even better offers.

Nothing notes the end of an era and life as sports. CB and I are close to the same age and when I think about when I first heard of Barkley in college, through the Olympics, to the 76ers, to his retirement next year, I have seen the entire arc of this dude's career. And shit this means that I'm old too!

NBA tnt is over, no one is watching it anymore. No one replaces this guy
Change is the only constant. I remember marv Albert and as time goes on new personalities will rise. They had a great run and nothing last forever. I look forward to whoever is next.

Will miss Chuck! He is always my favorite NBA media personality to listen to.
Once Barkley retires, the show will never be the same even if Ernie, Kenny and Shaq go to another network. Barkley is the reason that show it what it is. This is comparable to Johnny Carson retiring, it will never be the same.
I think if you lose any one of them, the show falters. Each one of them plays a massive role in the show and on the crew. It's just sad to see that this is likely the beginning of the end of NBA on TNT as we know it.

Saw this one coming. It's been no secret He's been close to retirement, as soon as the TV deal fell through at TNT, it felt like the end of next year would make for the perfect time to do it. Why bother going through the hassle of negotiating a contract with another network when you are only planning on going for another year or two anyway
