Hello Everybody....I had the pleasure of exhibiting our little train set type budget layout,at the Budget Model Rail exhibition a few weeks ago at the Bluebell Railway, accompanied by Katrina my wife who was standing in for our son who helped me build the layout....Mike and Doug from BMR have told us how a few folks have commented on the layout..we called it....Ten A Penny Junction....and have asked for a few more details of it.Rather than taking up a huge amount of space on here,if you would like some information about the layout and pictures of it in its very initial stages...then please e mail us on adrianandkatrina@gmail.com and we will happily supply you with pictures and more detailed info....All i will say is that we were inspired greatly by this layout of Mike`s and Doug`s from earlier on LINK below..and just altered things slightly allowing a double track passing loop through the tunnel area and 2 more sidings on the far side of the layout.....Many thanks....Ade and Katrina th-cam.com/video/e3L4dRQOySw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks ade
@LONGMIRE'S TRAINS Email sent to your address...Thanks for getting in touch....Proper reply with pics etc to come to your inbox over the next day or so....Ade
@@BudgetModelRailways Our Pleasure..This hobby should be made compulsory by law !!!..All the best..Ade
I must admit seeing that old triang? Transformer the one with the big red control dial took me back. That was the BEST controller I ever had. It would run any train at super slow speed. How I wish I still had that now.
We still have one
Never was so much owed by so many to so few. The people at your 2019 show were a testament to your contribution to railway modelling. When I watch your videos, it's easy to think I'm just one person enjoying what you do. This is a reminder that many people have benefitted and been inspired. We don't meet, but we all have your channel in common. Thanks!
@@alandavis5950 that's really very kind of you thanks, we are humbled by the response to what we do
Now look what you've gone & done, people building cheap layouts, exhibiting them & having fun. Bloody brilliant. Wildest dreams & all that stuff? You deserve all the plaudits that come your way. Thank you.
Thanks for your support, its people like you that keep us going
Fantastic job on getting a show together that celebrates all those model train lovers that can't afford the latest 600 quid loco and don't have a huge room to build a layout.
This really is the way to get new people into the hobby.
Hat's off to you.
Thanks for your support
This is what model railways are all about enjoying yourself and having fun. If you have the money enjoy the timescale modelling, which I love to see,but if you are like a majority of us take heart from people like these and do your own thing. Budget model railways you have really brought the hobby to the masses thank you.
It’s always wonderful to see people simply enjoy themselves.
Great work. Its one things exhibiting at a show quite another to be organising one just with the two of you with all of your commitments hope you’re able to run another in 2021!
Thanks, we hope so too
Excellent Video Mike and Doug.....Just watched it on the Big Screen Telly....a second hand one of course...Was such a Brill weekend, and we thank you all for making us feel so welcome....All the layouts were terrific and it was great chatting to the visitors. What a great railway the Blue Bell is too.....Incredibly enough we got home at 10.00 PM,having made an incredible 20 mph on the M25 !! Andy`s Car..the one we used, failed the next day...Clutch went !!! How lucky were we !! Thanks Again for a great weekend.. ...Ade and Katrina
Thanks so much for coming down and exhibiting, so many people loved your layout. 25mph on the M2 surely not!
Well done Ade, it was well worth the effort. cheers Mark
@@Markintheshed cheers Mark,,really was a terrific weekend.
Hi Adequate, not surprisingly , we have had a lot of comments impressed by your layout, a few people would like some more info on it, would you he able to post a comment with some info please
@@BudgetModelRailways hi Mike and Doug,,,,,...Still talking about the great weekend we all had !!!!....Have just put up a message above asking anyone interested in more info and pictures to e mail us.....Rather than taking up huge amounts of space on your channel comments page....Cheers..Ade
One large step to convince the doubters that there is more to model railways than rivet counting. Brilliant you two, if your doing it again next year I will make every effort to be there. Thanks for a cracking video. Frank
Thanks Frank
Well done. Let's hope that your show grows and becomes a regular fixture in the exhibition calendar. I think it's great that it is only for old school layouts. BMR is such an inspiration and I am sure that you will inspire many more modellers in the coming years. Hopefully, some younger modellers, like Doug, will get inspired, as you have shown that you needn't break the bank to have a layout.
Great video guys. It was lots of fun operating and letting others operate my layout over the weekend. Looking forward to future videos
Thanks so much for coming along, glad you had a good day
was great meeting you....we all had a lot of fun....what a great hobby this model rail stuff is..sorry we never got to say goodbye..cheers..ade
Great to see the several budget railways including your own. I do hope this is only the beginning & congratulations on the successful show.
Me and my son are building a 3x6ft layout in his bedroom. We were inspired to build from this very channel. So many hints and ideas and even more in this video. Love the idea of half built buildings with the roof still to go on! Thanks again
So glad we could help, have fun with your layout
Absolutely stunning work! Great to see such a variety of layouts all on a budget model railways theme. Well done to all.
Brilliant. You continue to bring creativity, ingenuity and craftsmanship back to model railroads.
Thanks, is that a fellow military man I see in your pic

Almost unbelievable! Great work, Mike and Doug!
Well done to all of the budget modelers, and to Mike and Doug. this video and the whole budget concept is an inspiration and shows very well that Throwing money at our hobby doesn't always make for happy hobbyists, the happiness and joy was on the faces of the exhibitors cheers Mark
Congratulations on what looks like a great little show - I only regret that, living on the other side of the world, I couldn't attend and show my support. Well Done to all involved!
Congrats on your 1st show. Some great little layouts there, all quite inspiring, as are your many videos and ideas that you so generously share. I was a bit confused by one thing though, the sights and sounds of people laughing and enjoying themselves at a model railway show, I've never come across that at any of the more 'serious' shows I've been to :-)
We called the other hall the serious shed, no-one in there was going to spoil the atmosphere by enjoying themselves
All of the layouts looked great and must have given hours of fun for the people who built them, I particularly love the idea of the micro suitcase layout. Mike your new layout which you built so quickly looked brilliant and the carriages which you converted looked superb. Well done to all of you long may you continue.
Thanks for your support and encouragement
Fantastic! Great to see so many people having so much fun on a budget! The revolution continues, just love the layout in a suitcase!!
What a great variety of layouts. A perfect exhibition to show people and young people how fun this hobby is. Clint
Very enjoyable video. Great to see the budget ethos spreading. Regards Gary
Thanks Gary
It was really nice to see those lovely little layouts,i enjoyed those :)
Great ! I've seen pretty interesting layouts there. And hnestly, the basic idea of having fun with trains on a shoestring is the best concept in ralway modelism I have ever seen. May join you for an exhibition some day...
Thanks so much for the inspiration to continue enjoying the greatest hobby of all!
What a great little show of budget layouts....congratulations. Cheers Greg
Love the little layouts just proves you don't have to spend a fortune.
VIVA LA REVOLUTION. Just brilliant, bloody brilliant. Great layouts here, gives inspiration to so many. Not to mention with sustainability and the environment being such pressing issues the methods seen here of reusing material, repurposing things and keeping old models and rolling stock in good order and use has a lot of integrity and value that I admire.
Thanks a lot, to be honest I'm a bit taken aback at the positive reception we have received, it just goes to show that the hobby press and manufacturers are missing a huge opportunity by not producing and promoting budget ranges
I am so happy for you guys and everyone who attended. I wish I could have come down but a family holiday got in the way, It looks like you all had a fantastic time and the layouts were cracking setups. Next year in the works? Can't wait for the next video.
A great video and looks like it was a lot of fun. I would love to exhibit a layout at something like this one day.
We might run another in 2021
Them layouts you made are just great
Wish I had been able to come along, but alas was on holiday! First saw you guys in 2015 or 2016 on the top level of the coach shed at the BB. Great stuff.
Congratulations Mike & Doug for putting on a great little show. Nice to see people coming together to promote & enjoy the hobby for it's own sake & get away from the politics & "one up man ship" that seems to creep into larger shows. Pity I had a bit far to come to take part. Cheers; David "Grumpy" Barnes, Adelaide , South Australia.
I think all the layouts were tied for Best In Show! It looks like you had a great time! I hope you have many more! The red and silver locomotive on the Ten-A-Penny layout bears a striking resemblance to an American F-unit. Google the term "F-unit" and you'll see what I mean. Have a great summer!
Another great video, may it be an inspiration to many people.
Looked like a great show.
Most enjoyable. It would be churlish to pick a favourite because they all embraced the budget remit and emphasis on fun. I hope the show goes from strength to strength.
Love the cardboard kits on your side of the Channel. Did one myself for a signal box interior a while ago.
Amazing layouts.....small is beautiful.
Hopefully I might be able to build something for next year!
I really like all of the layouts featured and I hope to one year come to the bluebell show
Very nice job! And inspiring younger modelers no doubt. Keep it up!
Brilliant! Real imagination and creativity here as well as...............trains actually running! This being one of the main points of railway modelling nicely contrasts with bigger projects where it is often a long time before trains are running in nice scenery and settings, well done all!
Many thanks
Well done guys looks great!
Was honestly gutted when i couldn't make the show to visit or exhibit. Next time i hope to be more prepared
Excellent show and all budget layout looking really good. Well all of you
Brilliant. Glad it went so well
Well done to all, it's what model railways need to survive...
Thats what we think, it needs the hobby press and manufacturers to produce, promote and get behind the budget market
Like the intro of the train leaving Horsted Keynes. I have not been there since the extension was completed and have never seen a train leave In a northern direction!
Wittersham Road is a lovely little station
I loved the vid and all the different layouts. Well done!
I think you have achieved your goal of showing that an interesting layout can be built with small means.
My personal favorite was ten a penny (not counting Market Town as it almost looks too professional😉). It was simple, obviously low budget and it looked nice.
I agree it was a great layout
fabulous work
Hi That was great fun. Colin
Fantastic layouts from every one we'll done liked the music gr8 stuff cheers Bruce
Not sure why very few people have weathered their locos/rolling stock and buildings.
It makes layouts look soo much better and can be done pretty cheap with a poundland acrylic wash.
Its not really what we really about, its more about having fun running trains than realism
@@BudgetModelRailways alright, fair enough
That first layout was ultra realistic. How'd the builder get the people to move like that?
Ho ho, very good lol
excellent - very well done all involved...
Wonderful job by all! Takes the wind out of the "but I have to have a huge space and spends loads of money to have fun in model railroading" argument...well done!
Exactly
Congratulations on an excellent presentation.
Good for you, guys!!
Great show and some brilliant layouts on a budget.
Geoff
very interesting.Keep it up
Great work keep it up
Superb, layouts that appeal to me.
Looked like a lot of fun
great video ty :)
Superb concept and outcome!
Loved the Co-op coal wagons and everything.
Not sure about the voting, winner and 'losers': I don't like competition and fighting.
No matter: you all winners, equally, diversely of my/our Ell Done! award!
True co-operation.
Mike and Douglas looks like you had a blast. Also your new layout very nice. As a Patron Supporter I would ask to view a more in depth video, of the last layout built by BMR. Thanks for sharing and carry on.
Hi happy to oblige, are you talking about the smaller of the two we took to the show?
Yes Mike the smaller one.
Leave it with us, but it might be a while
0.16 my favorite class
All travelling at 90 mph lol
And all having great fun lol
Klass.
