Dear Chad and Jolene. You bring so much positive energy to the channel…chad aive followed you for years and I’ve never seen you so disheartened by a car build related issue. It just shows how much passion you build your cars with and our hearts go out to you both
I don't think you could have handled that situation any better. Hats off to you both for being so level headed a working through such an awful dilemma. Onward and upward!
I think you said it best when you said "I'd never cut someone out of my life for 1 mistake." That shows both manliness to overcome, virtue to forgive and maturity to move on. Not all things work out as planned, or hoped, Yet all things work out to those thru perseverance keep going forward and leave the past behind. 👍
Incredibly clear way to explain all the issues. You did a great job explaining and I can imagine the phone discussion was not pleasant. Maybe he really thought it was done right and can’t admit he was wrong. It’s sometimes difficult for some people to admit their mistakes. Not sure how anyone could think those bolts were good for a fan. Sorry that you lost someone you thought was a friend. I really admire your patience and calm demeanor. You’re a really good person.
It is so heart breaking when someone takes advantage of good honest people like you Chad and Jolene, especially hurtful when it's a British made product and someone tries to disgrace the design by bad work on it. If you hadn't took the view of detailing the engine I would hate the thought of what could of happened to the both of you especially Jolene. You did the right thing and checked the engine over and you also video and photos of the problems, so the person could see the mistakes he had made. I am glad to hear that he is refunding Jolene her money back and is taking care of his mess and taking the engine back. Keep up the good work as I am proud to watch you Chad and Jolene work on the beautiful creations that you have made.

I love watching content providers like Chad, not all are right not all are crap because, it you have patience, you can learn for everyone - learning what not to do and why is more valuable than how to do it right - learning how to think a problem through is a skill few people have. Chad is a character for sure and Jimbo is even more so, I love them both, they are completely into their "thing". Jolene deserves the best !! :) wouldn't want to see her standing on the side of the road beside a stalled bugatti in her wedding gear on the way to her wedding
Chad it takes a confident person to objectively gather proof to prove their concern. You deserve a huge amount of credit for your attitude. The seller may want to reevaluate his abilities in the future. Well done!!
Chad and jolene about the fan you can buy a stud the same size for the thread but it has a step down from the size of the bolt head they are used on many older British cars. Keep up the great work the both of you 👍 👏
People get shot for way less than that back here in the states. You Canadians are such nice and understanding people, hope the different engine works out better. Good luck!
Watching the video when Doug drops off the engine and hearing Chad ask about the “oil change” makes ya wonder. It sucks that this happened but I like to believe that stuff happens for a reason and sometimes bad stuff happens so that good things can happen. Cut your losses and move forward onto bigger and better things.
Getting your money back! I'm glad he's taking the engine back and you two are getting a better engine! I'm 62 & been there and done that. Looking forward to more videos, Godspeed from the Yakima Valley in Washington State!

It was so good to be able to fall back on Bernie is he such a very nice man and is full of knowledge with English cars i am very sure you'll get a good engine from him
I'm glad you were able to talk the seller into doing the right thing and refunding your money. More often than not in those situations you're just SOL. Hope the next motor is done right but now at least you know what to look for.
Well done explaining the problems, and a good thing it’s going back and your money comes back to you guys , start fresh with a full rebuild watching and learning through the process then you will know the new engine inside and out . Just keep moving forward it will all come together in the end .👊👊
That motor is a boat anchor, I agree with most of the comments on here, you showed great restraint in not losing it. The old saying goes if want something done right sometimes you just have to do it yourself.
I'm glad you're going to get an engine from Bernie, he's a great old guy from what we have seen of him. Didn't he offer you a Jaguar motor for Jolene's Bugatti about the time you got that one from Doug?
Cannot believe Doug's part in this and I hope he makes good with that, thank God the mind of Jim went right to a main source cause if the engine had been started it would not have lasted long. Great move Jim!
@@richardmondor1360 Yes. The "seller" had it running on a run stand at his place when they took a look at it. Even had a radiator setup on it, and also started it up when he dropped it off at Chads shop.

You can now feel the power that media has. Without all of these videos being viewed by so many people It could have happened that you would have not gotten an acceptable response from the seller. If the seller ever wants to walk out in the sunshine again he has to do what is right.

Keep up the great job!
Chad it takes a confident person to objectively gather proof to prove their concern. You deserve a huge amount of credit for your attitude. The seller may want to reevaluate his abilities in the future. Well done!!
Iowa in the House. That engine breaks my heart. I feel for you guys!!
Good luck!
Hard learned lesson but excellent documentation on the issues glad you looked in the oil filter
Your a class act. I like how politely you handled that. I wish we were neighbors!
Sad to see that the motor is not what you expected but good on you to go threw it and find the red flag issues 👍 glad to hear that you two convinced the seller to issue a refund . Moving forward wish you guys all the best
I could be wrong but I believe they ran the motor in one of the previous episodes did they not?
@@richardmondor1360 Yes. The "seller" had it running on a run stand at his place when they took a look at it. Even had a radiator setup on it, and also started it up when he dropped it off at Chads shop.
@@eanwatson876 That's what i thought...
Sad day, been there. Glad to see you have a light at the end of this tunnel. Onward and Up.
Chad you are the definition of the word gentleman I've only been following your channel for about a month and I'm happy I found it. I can see you and work very much the same bouncing from one project to another and back again. my wife calls me a "scatter brained genius" a title I will gladly share with you.
Keep up the good work
It's a good outcome that you could convince Doug to refund you the cost of the engine.
We have all learned a lesson today . Glad that you could talk about it with us.
Good morning from Korea. Yesterday was a hard day. Hopefully this will be resolved gracefully.
That sucks.
I really appreciate you're positive attitude towards a negative event. Kodos to you and Jolene
You can now feel the power that media has. Without all of these videos being viewed by so many people It could have happened that you would have not gotten an acceptable response from the seller. If the seller ever wants to walk out in the sunshine again he has to do what is right.
I am in awe that you guys are so calm. I tip my hat to you sir. I have no such patience.
Congratulation on your return of the engine, I am glad you worked it out. Wish you well on the next one
Really pleased that this was resolved.
Very well said and done Mr.Bad Chad. I learn alot watching your shows.
Thank you Ms.Jolene ,keep your head up.
Gut wrenching, to be so excited to install an engine. Now to look for another suitable engine. Good luck and I know you will find another one.
Don't be too discouraged. It's good you found it now than later!
Sorry you guys had to deal with that motor...Thanks for letting the viewer's see what can happen.
Rock on Bad Chad and Beautiful Jolene.
