This will never end. People have shown themselves to have no comprehension of the value of their freedom and rights while they willingly absorb all fear propaganda without question. They actually think the government has their best interests at heart. They are beyond hope. And thanks to them so are we all.

A few years ago I used to work with a man who came from Romania. He said that English people were very law abiding. He continued to say that if a law was passed, that few agreed with, and came into force, say 6:00PM tonight, we would moan about it but obey it. In Romania they would just say that the law was rubbish and ignore it.
This Covid business has proved him dead right.

The majority of people going along with this tyranny are only doing so because they’ve already had their chances in life. They’ve been able to celebrate their 18th birthday, get their first job or house, have a family and stable careers while enjoying the perks of freedom. So of course they don’t care when young people, such as myself, won’t get any of those and will have to bear the burden of their selfishness for the rest of our lives. It’s all for one simple reason, its not their futures or dreams that have been torn to shreds and it will not be their burden to bear in the decades to come.

I am a business owner and trying everything in my power to keep it alive. Including all the social distancing measures. Yesterday I had someone phone me up ask if I was available. When I said yes (as following all guidelines it is perfectly legal for me to work) their only response was to say "I'm reporting you" I couldn't believe it and had a very heartbreaking thought that all I could think of was the Soviet Union when they encouraged people to report on each other to the state. This is a terrible state of affairs and we dont seem to have the energy or want to make it better. It seems that the Marxists, post modernists and far lefts attempts to destroy our cultural spirit have worked. Even if covid magically disappeared tomorrow. We don't have the pride, spirit or gumption to raise ourselves back to where we once where. This is a fucking nightmare, caused not by Covid but the response to Covid.

Shockingly, I have seen some comments around this piece on various sites suggesting Neil has a negative attitude which he is passing on to his kids. What Neil, along with Mike, is actually doing is using his considerable wisdom, profile and even his own family situation to stick his head above the parapet and speak up for those who are suffering so badly yet being ignored and silenced because they are not actually suffering from the target ailment. Everything this man says is carefully worded and delivered to carry maximum impact, in a calm, reasoned and soothing fashion. He is an inspiration to many. 👏👏

In saving people who will not have a long life ahead does not make sense. There are those who actually want to die or, aren’t we allowed to say that! We just have expectations beyond our bodily failings. We expect to be immortal! The young people are more important & as Neil says, they have been spat upon. We are losing at least one generation of tax payers. The whole thing is just not in my thoughts much as I have suffered hell due to my son ending his life from a bridge. This over dramatisation does not resonate with me. All these fucking rules, on top of my deep grief are just toppling me. We do actually go on to

Exactly Darren. It's the furlough scheme that has lulled a lot of people into a false sense of security. Why would any business, especially sole traders shut down their businesses based only on guidelines. It baffles me. If there was no furlough scheme they would not have closed down their businesses. I don't know what to do at the moment. I'm looking for work but keep asking myself if a lockdown occurs will i lose the job i get because of lockdown and be back on benefits. I had a job interview and blew it as i was scared of the uncertainty and would have got it otherwise. This is the true cost of lockdown how can we justify breaking peoples confidence and spirit and the uncertainty caused is horrific. Look at whats happened on social media people trying to cancel or destroy people online as a result of lockdown, being stuck at home looking to be victimized or attack people as you have no physical interaction with them.
Education is screwed more people are struggling with remote learning, i hate remote learning its makes little sense to me as i have always been a person who learns face to face. Common sense is gone and i'm old fashioned and believe that working together is better and letting people say what they want and debating the issue rather than shutting them down. Issues are better solved by having both sides discuss or debate the issue and some mid ground can be found or agree to disagree. My mental health is getting worse and anger is seeping through as the people in charge are perfectly fine while the poor and impoverished struggle.

It’s not that people have accepted their lot. We have been threatened with fines and prosecution if we don’t comply.
So can you provide an alternative? I assume the interviewer is following the rules the same as I am? Is not that I agree with them or accept them, I have no choice unless I am willing to be fined and have my business shut down permanently

@@markusmaximus6636 hmmm not really, I've studied the data. You need to consider that after 50, it's not unusual to develop an underlying condition, even something as simple as hypertension. So an "over 50" Lockdown makes more sense, since these people are filling up the hospitals. It is the solution to save the most lives and keep the hospitals empty. Start talking about it and posting about it if you agree with it.

On a vintage m/cycle forum, a couple of weeks ago I commented on smilar issues & that in conclusion it was my considered opinion that the cure (lockdown & furlough) was worse than the disease. Well I was castigated, called names & told that I should listen to people more educated than myself!
So a big thankyou to Mr Oliver for intelligently & eloquently articulating my feelngs on lockdown & furlough.
