commenting on the size or bodyfat percentage of a strong man is like commenting on how weak a bodybuilder is. who cares. he doesn't train to look good or be small. he trains to be strong as possible. bodybuilders train to look big at very small body fat percentages. You wanna look at half naked dudes and judge their body weight, cool. Watch those kind of videos when they're posted. respect all styles and shut up.
TheColaOrginal. That's just his genetics. He was able to get strong enough to where he didn't need to sacrifice his appearance/bodyweight. If he had put on more weight, he would have done even better in terms of brute strength, but he didn't need to. Everyone is different.
This brian kid has a lot of potential! He's young but he's already come in 3rd on the world stage. With his positive attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if he won it all one day!
do you mean because it said 3rd? You misread it, it didn't say 3 time. In 2009, he hadn't won a title yet. He got 3rd place in 2009 that's what it meant.
As of now Brain Shaw is 4time world strongest man and number 5 is soon coming to reality, go Brain, your advice has helped me much in my training. Thanks you and your lovely family. Paul from Stockholm Sweden.
Brian looks about 6 inches shorter to me in this video for some reason. He also sounds more soft spoken too...he sounds like he's trying to sell me tools at a tool store. He just seems so much larger and more confident on camera now. (None of that is meant to sound negative either. Brian is a fantastic person, and I really admire his energy, work ethic, and overall wonderful personality).
Brian Shaw is one of the Strongest men on the planet to date. Barbell looked tiny in his hands. With all the injuries associated with training and competing, a big high five for all the strong men out there. Takes a tonne to do what they do. All that eating, all that training. The life!
as a normal human being trying to lift those atlat stones you probably will get destroyed...I think it's not possible to lift something like that if you are normal, meaning that B. Shaw or Bjornsson are not men that can be compared to...I dont know if they have some back problem due to the heavy lifting but I guess that 99.9 % of all men would never be able to do something like that...so for an amateur to be like them is a very dangerous attempt...
What you've just said, is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Do you actually believe the very first time Brian attempted to shoulder a stone, he was able to lift 400+ lb with ease? Or perhaps that could be attributed to years of consistent sport specific training? To say they are not normal men is to discredit the absurd amount of brutal practice they have endured daily to reach the level they are at now.
Josh- I think you're the only one who understood the topic here. To the others- What I'm saying is that you can make your own stones that don't have to weigh 400#. I wouldn't start squatting with 400# either. The two men mentioned are exceptional, I could have followed the same path in life but never would have been able to achieve what they can do. However, without putting in the work that they have, neither would they. Plus Shaw is just a nice down to earth guy, thank goodness. I'm not sure about the Mountain haven't really watched any interviews with him so he might be too.
I had that exact thought with those atlas stones. I’ve seen a toddler drop a bowling ball on their toes and imagine this would be a much much worse version of that, and probably even more screaming and crying!
My gym has a fake gym version of the tire. It is not as heavy or large as the real deal but it could do the trick for beginners. I never see anyone using them though.
Mad respect for the man being one of the strongest men in the world and for doin this video, but logically, who BENEFITS from this?! Already by the first exercise, lifting something that's 1100 POUNDS! I know that many BODYBUILDERS follow this channel (obviously) but what percent of us can lift fucking 1100lbs let alone do any of these other exercises?! XD
As healthy as any other professional athlete doing terrible things to their bodies. Seriously, look at Brett Favre... early onset of memory loss. Look at all of these golden era bodybuilders dying of heart attacks.... most athlete's if they're doing it right, more than likely are not doing their body justice.
learning fighting An entire fucking pizza as a snack. I read somewhat recently that they have amazong cardiovascular systems, and obviously muscularly strong and have great muscular endurance, but the fact remains that the human body isn't meant to be that big. It puts a strain on your organs.

+censorious how
I will not respect Crossfit
justOnerandomguy no one does
but Mariusz Pudzianowski (5 times wsm) looked quite shredded

When I think of "strongman" I think of Brian Shaw doing squats with shaded glasses on
very soft spoken for such a powerful man
the most humble strong man
That would be Eddie Hall-not!
2019 now and Brian looks so young in this video, 4 time absolute champ.
Yeah. I don't even recognize him. How old is this video? I'm not sure I believe it's only 7 years old
Drugs age you
@@ccclaw13 This video is from 2010 I think, after he got 3rd place on WSM 2009 but before he get 1st place in 2011
hes now a 3 time world strongest man champion
He's now a 4 time wsm
4 times worlds nicest dude too
4 time
4 time now
make that 4 time (I think)
This brian kid has a lot of potential! He's young but he's already come in 3rd on the world stage. With his positive attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if he won it all one day!
He did, 3 times
*woosh*
i apologize for my fellow youtubers who dont seem to understand humour
I dare say that if he trained super hard....he coukd win it several times maybe even the arnold classic? Skys the limit for this kid!

Nathan Legg we know its called a joke
本当に素晴らしい動画
ストロングマン式のトレーニングこそトレーニングの王様かもしれない
Actually you placed 1st 4 times buddy!
Phiase this video is from 2010 or else he would have clarified
As of 2019 Brian is a 4X WSM. So awesome to see him back in the day. Always been a great guy
do you mean because it said 3rd? You misread it, it didn't say 3 time. In 2009, he hadn't won a title yet. He got 3rd place in 2009 that's what it meant.
My friend laughs at me by doing these, mean while hes training with cables to get STRONGER 😂
To get stronger ??? Really??
daniel.jacobs _99 not far enough
@@thepotatoegamer1034 haha
Cables for strength! 😂
Cables are for hypertrophy or Endurance. Even then it's kind of dangerous for endurance.
The cables are good too for isometric stregth
A young man there! This is pretty cool to see how much he's grown over the years.
Him carrying 110 looks like me carrying 15 pounds :(
hahah
NO IT DASNT
Brilliant man. He inspires me to get in the gym and train hard even at my age ha.
Im a martial artist, and i plan on doing steongman for a while to become stronger all arround and use it for my competitions 💜
As of now Brain Shaw is 4time world strongest man and number 5 is soon coming to reality, go Brain, your advice has helped me much in my training. Thanks you and your lovely family. Paul from Stockholm Sweden.
Really hope he wins WSM x5. Such a kind person.
Gonna hit up craigslist for farm work so I can use the equipment

0:13 ᴴᵉʸ ᶦᵗˢ ᵇʳᵃᶦⁿ ˢʰᵃʷ
Lol i love this man
THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!
This video doesn't give his sheer massive size justice, even if it's 2009 Brian. He makes the tyre look like an average large tyre.
If there is anywhere I’m going for strongman workouts it’s Brian
When I go to them gym tomorrow I will do some of these excercises
Looking back at this shit bro you can’t believe this is the monster we see now
Could I use this as a full workout routine on its own
Brian looks much more comfortable on camera now. That's real progress, as real as any lift.
Brian looks about 6 inches shorter to me in this video for some reason. He also sounds more soft spoken too...he sounds like he's trying to sell me tools at a tool store. Those 110s look like 20s in his hands lol
Brian shaw is wicked
DUDE I NEED TO DO THE FARMERS WALK, it good for carrying my mom’s groceries 😎
make sure one side is lighter than the other (not by much)
THANKSSS HUMBLE TITAN 😍 BRIAN 😁
This is 4 years ago, why does it look like 10 years ago?!
My man Brian was really young in this one.
Brian Shaw is one of the Strongest men on the planet to date. Barbell looked tiny in his hands. With all the injuries associated with training and competing, a big high five for all the strong men out there. Takes a tonne to do what they do. All that eating, all that training. The life!
I think when you combine this with combat sports and Bodyweight training you become kratos
i need them atlas stones
Homemade with beach balls paper mached then filled with concrete.
Or you can go to Alan thralls TH-cam channel

He was just a baby lol. Now 4x WSM. Good stuff.
how many series you recommend in farmer walking? can i do it in a deadlift day?
overhead press. one of my personal favorites. I am curious what do you guys consider heavy weight for ohp?
also I would love some more information about proper technique for these exercises.
Pressing your bodyweight is considered to be great by most.
Sheesh. I got a ways to go.
stronglifts.com/5x5/
Check the section for overhead press
Im at 150lbs 5 sets of 5
2 plates is my goal for ohp.
Dude he looks so young and sounds so little. Its amazing😂
Interesting to see Brain Shaw before he placed 1st in a bunch of later world's strongest man. He's the BEST! 'MERICA
Damn, 3 years. It’s crazy how much a person can change in just 3 years. He looks so much different
It's gotta be older than that. That looks more like 15 years
Flip something big
Bhari vajan leker ke chalna
Overhead Press
Kisi bhari bori ko uthana
Big stone lifting
Strongman is the top strength fitness
Depends men
4:45 That's fucking genius, thank you very much Shaw, I used to have to travel 150km to train stones.
Back when B was not yet the 🐐
Brian has had the best glo up, he looks so akward in this video compared to today
Omg Brian
5:06 what type of barbell is that?
Just the end of an olympic one. I didn't even know you could take those off.
Awwwww young Brian is so cute for a 400lb behemoth
He was more like 380 here.
Lol
How long ago was this filmed?!?
Brian Shaw you are my favorite I wanna become just like you
Please support me I want to represent my country in strong men champion ship
If brad castleberry is so strong, i wanna see him compete in arnolds classic
squat bench deadlift
Strongman + humble
Anyone else worrying about his toes getting squished?
Lololll

@@roadkillanonymous4807 I Imagine you're right 😁😳🤯
What's the reason he is hugging the sandbag and not cradling it? Is it easier?
as in competitions sand bag is heavier and hugging is the best way to carry
The workout wouldn't be useful if it was easy
My gym has a fake gym version of the tire. It is not as heavy or large as the real deal but it could do the trick for beginners. I never see anyone using them though.
Who is this large baby? I was looking for Brian Shaw the human bear
He is now a 4th time winner
This guys so cool

That's why they say no aumingjar.
Grace O'Malley
what's aumingjar? xD
It means no pussies or wimps. This sport is not for all.
Grace O'Malley
haha definitely not...

Interesting
real life situation workouts
"We got 5 different exercises we will show you"
well where am I going to put that bad boy
In my ass
@Ben J u know it man (no homo) 😂 😂
Brian doesn't teach you how to be late in this video because if you train like he does, it will come naturally.
I does this every day in contsruction :D
Tire flip
Farmers walk
Overhead press
Sand bag carry
Atlas stone
Lol this vid is like 8 years old. Also anyone else noticed how much more humble and quiet Brian seems here?
Y aren't there more islander strong men?
Bruh, Brian Shaw looking like some kid who just graduated high school in this video! LOL
atlas stones are his speciality , with a world record of 555 lbs!!!!
That's funny, my stones are held up with my manhood, too.
I picks up 110 pounds like its jugs of milk
this video is way old
Yeah I thought so too
2019... look how small he was compared to now 😯
Now that's why God of War : Ragnarok Thor looks like that.
So you are telling me that I can get out in the yard, perform all of those tasks whole summer and become Eddie Hall 2.0?
all but the latter
More like Eddie Hall 0.2
Cool guy
+Master Ray im just doing whatever it takes man...
Itu jurus gorilla apa Simpanse?
His hair and voice😂😂😂
wow..night and day compared to how he looks now.
Hahahha Brian was such a baby back then! This guy aged well.
He looked so different 😂😂
He looked like a baby! A second into him showing up in the video i immediately wondered how old this video was.
reminds me of when i was in the marines and i went to find big ass rocks to exercise with
Did this guy really just put in the metal rings like it's nothing??
Nah ama just hit up that jack in the box in the background
Damn this video is old! he looks so young! lol a baby
Core and what now!?
Are they healthy though? I wonder what their diet consists of
something over 5000 caloriez consumed a day
clean healthy foods mostly, but in very large amounts
try 10,000 to 15,000

There is NO SIDE ON A TIRE!
he so young in this video
He looks exactly like an infant here, fortunatelly he grew a beard.
