Thats not just nice, its brilliant, prob the best version I've heard. and so what if its in English! @Pat Aherne. The English language evolved here in Ireland, as it did separately in England, like Scotlands' Scots. We speak Hiberno English. Old Norman French, who were mostly in from Wales, and not England, (as we're told to believe the English invaded).... when in fact they were invited, cos the Irish were NEVER united, nor saw themselves as one nation, and the Normans who came here were from Wales mostly, of Norse/French stock. So if you mix, Gaelic, remnants of old Norse, Norman French, and the remains of another older early 'English/Dutch' from the Low countries which was spoken here called 'YOLA' mix all these languages up in Ireland, and it gives us Hiberno-English (should be called Hiberno-Irish!) so its not just 'English' besides, this is a Napoleonic song, and at that time one third of the British Army were Irish born, so they would have had to learn 'English'
