Grew up partying and rocking to zwarte @ eddys club on the strip in mandan,nd. A guy I know from Mandan ended playing with the band, heck of guitar player Chris Lippert. Zwarte rocked the Dakota's Respect
Oh man these guys blew the roof of a joint in Tuscola Il a couple of times! RIP Jaybird Baron & Randall ( I their cool sound guy, damn) so fun Shoot to Thrill!!! Baron on bass, vocals and only wearing chaps !!
I work at a bar in Yankton, South Dakota. A local who comes in all the time (his name is Kevin) showed me this song, and another of the band's songs called Lucy. He played them on our jukebox! Told me some stories about the guys in the band (he knew them). I've heard a couple stories from people who've met the band before, and none of them were negative! Anyway, I love the music, a very talented bunch of musicians I'd say. This is some good old rock and roll. The way rock should still be!! :)
these guys really are the they are from dell rapids and ive had the pleasure of seeing them more times than I can count they were a street dance band back then and everytime they played it was definitely a good time
My dad got to meet the whole band bc back in his town in Marysville Kansas he would pay them to put on a show in his war house or something like that back in 97 is what he told me
I remember Randy said were recording this live for as video at the I thought yeh really. Wow I watch this and shit you not its exactly what I saw at Loud American Roadhouse in Sturgis so cool also was at Badlands Pawn in Sioux Falls when they had reunion video
Haven't seen them in more than ten years. I live on the east coast now. They use to play in the lounge at spare time lanes in decatur, il. If they make the trip back to decatur, so will i.
I've known Randy and the boys for a very very long time. My wife use to be really good friends with Daria, Randy's wife. I really miss the shows back home.
I've seen them play at least 15 times... Best show so far was at a filthy little bar in Aberdeen SD in ? 2006 I think... His voice is so unique, haunting almost
OMG this song is awesome, me and a good friend would cruise around and listen to this song all the time:) sometimes i miss those days but then i remember that everything happens for a reason but for a brief moment i am taken back
@howman1 wrong, they are, Randy use to live a few miles north of Sioux Falls SD, that is where he grew up. I am friends with them. Have met the whole family and my wife was really good friends with Daria, Randy's wife.
Zwarte explains Sturgis Like No One Else can --- Seen too Many Bikers Down on the Roads ---Sturgis can Take Your life - If You don't take care of Her --- Ride Safe, Ride Hard! See you in the Bad Lands!
As many times as my ex (also from SD) p*ssed me off, she did a few things right, too. Thanks, Janna! These guys are destined to become a classic "Biker" band, with Sturgis joining "Born to Be Wild" "Ride the Wind" and other anthems!
To be in the company of bands like Steppenwolf and Poison doesn't seem like an altogether bad place to be. Sturgis definitely comes across as a biker anthem. With such a large regional following, and other pockets of popularity mainly among hard-rock fans and Harley riders, internet exposure might get them more airplay on national Classic Rock radio.
They are from Dell Rapids SD... Knew almost every member they had within the band. I played on the same club circuit they did for years in the early 90's... Booked by the same Agent. Lot's of memories with them... RIP Randy.
