I’m sure it’s in VersaTuner’s instructions: Hook up a clean, strong power supply to maintain stable battery / system voltage. Speaking from decades in OE and aftermarket vehicle diagnostics, ) think of it as insurance. Reading w/a scan tool is one thing. This is another process altogether.
Nice! Would you be able to share your entire throttle config with me? I’m getting the pop tune soon. Would you also be able to share if you figured out how to lower idle rpm’s?
Good info, I think I'll try the regular 93 tune. Not expecting this to turn my stock '22 CX-5 CE into a rocket ship, just a little more fun to drive. This was very helpful, thanks!
i did see someone else mention that their pop tune didnt add much or any pop at all would you say it actually works? thats all i really care about lol and a little wake up to the car like you said would be nice
It's subtle under normal driving, but you can definitely get it to do it more if you want. On my trip to the Tail of the Dragon it was popping a LOT because I was having to quickly accel/decel from 2nd and 3rd pretty much the entire time EDIT: This is on the CorkSport Axle-back Exhaust. VersaTune does say it'll be less noticable on the stock exhaust.
I have a CorkSport Cold Air Intake but I doubt that makes much of a change to the pops. I did only test the 93 tune, so I can't speak for the 91. You could always try reaching out to VersaTuner support and see if they can help.
That dyno graph looks weird. 183 stock WHP? I thought they made around 169-170whp. Anyways, by the looks of it if, seems to be around 205-210HP and about 185whp if you're using the 170whp dynos that everyone has posted up. Cork Sport got 182whp with a catback and SRI. I might do the Lite tune, axel back, and lighter forged wheels. 26lbs is way too heavy, so 18-20lbs is in the future. I already have a drop in K&N and P Zero AS UHP which are 4lbs lighter on each corner than the OE Toyo. When I need to replace the battery, I'm going to find the lightest one possible because that batter is mounted way too high. 93 without a tune feels so much better than 87 already. 13:1 will surely run better on better fuel especially on hot days, you can feel the timing being pulled at top end. I get less of the stutter from standing starts, especially if I'm make a turn. This car seriously needs 200-210HP for this chassis since CUV and base eco cars are keeping up with it on the highway. Unsprung weight and a tune should wake this car up.
The dyno graph took me a sec to digest too, but it boils down to a max HP difference of 15. Ideally it'd be cool to dyno myself to directly compare, but I don't really have the motivation (or extra cash) to do that. I didn't pick the 3 up to be a speed demon, so for my expectations I'm happy how much this livened up the car. Like I mention in the vid, ofc you'll be able to squeak out extra perf going directly with a tuner. Biggest remote tuner I know in the scene is DRTuned, but I know there are others. So far rocking a CS SRI (waiting on the CAI box), a CS Axle-Back, and for handling I've swapped to Enkei NT03-M's and added a Megan Racing Front Strut bar. Pretty happy overall, since it's a good balance of handling without ruining my daily with crazy NVH
@@eightbitJuan The dyno shows the stock HP is 183, so yeah that's weird and most likely one of those dynos that are "optimistic" and give out more HP than actual, but the importance here like you said is the max HP difference. Now it's +15HP with the 91oct tune, that "Run #2" value? Yeah that's for the 91oct tune that's the green line. The blue line though, that's 93oct. We can see that one is right in the middle between 194 and 210 horizontal chart lines, so that means that it's at 202HP. So, with 93oct, you're looking at +20HP! Hey, 5HP is 5HP lol
I tried tuning my 2020 mazda 3 today, and I faild. After I install versatuner on my car, the engine, battery and auto light DTC flash, but the software shows there was no DTC. Then I tried to flush a tune, and it shows done. However, I cannot start my car. I tried to restock, but faild. I had to towed my car to 4s shop. Do you have any solution for this? Thx a lot
I still wait for dealer shop to fix my car. I plan to try again with battery charger. I see some people said the battery is too small for this car so you need charge your car when you tuning. But we will see, now I need get my car back first.@@TheNathanVids

@@shane250Sounds like it's related to something to do with fuel efficiency... I'm sure it's somewhere in there to be disconnected. Maybe a fuse in the front of the car you can remove that stops it working totally?
@@TheLondonCyclist Dude. I was a master tech at a Mazda until 2019. Trust me, there's no way to disable it, unless you can write a new code and somehow get the PCM to accept it. That's why these guys were my only hope. Let's see if they can make it happen.
@@shane250 Maybe you can help... I came off a road, took a turn at a simple 15mph and just as I was taking off into third gear, steering felt a bit stiff and has done since. Hello Juan how are you?
Sabes dónde hay contenido de este tipo en español para nuestro Mazda 3?
do you need to be connected to the internet during the flashing process?
Don't think so as long as you've already activated it and it's verified your ECU

is there anyway you can post a video of you running the pop tune versa provides with the OTS kit?
Meant to do that but got caught up with other projects.
I'll update the pinned comment once I post it.

Yes, they have tunes for the 2.5L, 2.0L and even the 2.2L Diesel engine for the 2014-18 models

No. It's a different system that you can't override or turn off. It shuts down 2 cylinders at cruising speed.
