Before he joined Deep Purple I have never heard of Simon. It’s unbelievable how many outstanding musicians there are and nobody knows them. Now he gets the attention he deserves !!
He’s been around for at the very least 27 yrs. I think people thought of him as a blues player but he’s more rock/ blues. Now he’s known as u know due to DP. FYI there’s a rig rundown on utube PMTVUK. His charcoal striped PRS is the best looking PRS or one of them I’ve ever seen.

I've seen some video clips of him playing and I understand now why they chose this guy to be the new Deep Purple guitarist. Because this is some world class playing.

This should have a million views... incredible playing! Feeling, dynamic, tone, it is all there, even some very decent speed licks. Simon really knows to play the guitar. And yes, the Silver Sky is just a great guitar, but SImon proves: A good player can make any guitar sound great.

It’s funny, when he used the pickup switch, the bridge position didn’t sound much different IMHO. I wonder what low wattage Marshall is similar to this tonally. This guy is a beast! I know I’d sound like hot garbage with this set up.
Very melodic playing using intensity at the right moments. It's truly an emotional journey or musical story telling at its finest listening to this. Saw him on a TH-cam video playing live with Deep Purple and immediately he caught my eye in the way he approached their songs. Respectful to the originals but adding his own intensity and flavour. They seem like a new revitalized band!!!!!!!!!

No one has ever completely duplicated Jimi's intro from the Axis version of Little Wing, including Jimi. That's not to take one iota of praise away from Simon's incredible tribute. It's absolutely beautiful, and I mean that from the heart.

I really think he would stand speechless in the corner dropping his jaw if he saw someone play a guitar like Simon McBride does… No one during Jimis times could play an electric guitar like that!

He’s a fantastic guitar player. I haven’t heard of him as well and I glad I have discovered him through Deep Purple
