The interesting significance of the Burger King cheese burger is that when Robert Downey Jr. was at his lowest point due to drug addiction. At one point he started to eat a rancid BK burger that had been laying around. It was what showed him he had hit rock bottom and motivated him to get his life together. In the film it signifies the decision to rethink the direction of his life.

No,he didn't,amigo,in Marvel's early yrs ( 1961-till-all of the 60s ) Jack Kirby had a hand in creating the FF,Hulk,most definitely Captain America ( Joe Simon helped Kirby ) Thor and several others I forget at this time.Lee had a nasty habit of taking credit for-EVERYTHING-under the sun. LOL.

Iron Man is my favorite! This was RDJ's big comeback! He actually started his acting career in the 80's. You seen him in Weird Science among other films perhaps. He went through a big bout in his personal life with drugs and alcohol. But after cleaning himself up, this was his huge comeback. I absolutely love and adore him. ❤ Also the guy with the beard is Jeff Bridges. He has a famous brother as well, Beau. Also a famous actor father Lloyd Bridges from way back in the glory days. You may have seen Jeff in other movies that you've watched. He's famous in his own right as well. His whole family is famous and the two brothers actually are musicians as well.

But he said that's what Tony Stark would do, and that decision ended up shaping the entire MCU. It's become one of the most iconic lines in the franchise

As someone who was reading Marvel decades before the MCU, I've always said that RDJ was the most perfect match between actor and character. I wasn't positive how they'd handle the Iron Man side, RDJ and Tony Stark are twins separated by alternate realities. Welcome to the MCU Amber.

Listened to Amber and J for awhile now and was viewing and a reaction of theirs from a few months ago. "Laughing" by the Guess Who. Just watching their facial expressions/comments led me to believe there relationship was awry even then. Hate to see that, been viewing their channel for quite some time. Not a big fan of TV but had to checkout her channel. She's a babe! Hope the universe leads them on to a good life and find what they need!
Fun fact- its funny you asked who else was in the running for Tony Stark. That would be none other than Tom Cruise. He was the first choice, but turned down the role, and RDJ took it and made history. You have to understand that Robert Downey was still considered a real risk for the studio. He was always a great actor, but he had his demons back in the 90s where he was in and out of jail constantly due to drugs and alcohol related incidents. This was VERY public at the time. And he burned a lot of bridges both in his personal life, and career. So he took on small projects to get back into the good graces and show that he was sober, and reformed. When this role came his way it was a bit of a risk, but one that has paid off in the trillions for Marvel. As they say, the rest is history. Robert Downey Jr. banked on himself and has made a ton of money on the back end of all these movies. Because Marvel didn't have the rights to its biggest IP - Spiderman, it decided to build around its lesser known characters, which is why we started with Iron Man. Sony has the movie rights to Spiderman. And the MCU has been sharing Spiderman with them. But eventually the plan is to get him back, as back in the day, Marvel was bankrupt and sold off a lot of its characters to make money. Most of them were bought by Fox studios. like X-Men and Fantastic Four. Now both of those are back at Marvel. The next MCU movie to watch is the Incredible Hulk. Then Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and finally The Avengers movie. This is considered Phase 1 of the MCU. Iron Man 2 does introduce some other characters, like a cameo of Elon Musk. But in answer to your question, yes Rhodey does get a suit that is called the War Machine. With that said, Robert Downey Jr. is the glue that keeps the MCU together. He has arisen like the Phoenix, reborn from the ashes. Just like Tony Stark, he learns from his mistakes.
RDJ's reputation as a "bad boy of Hollywood" really played into his role as Tony Stark. He had already done a lot of personal work to get his head on straight, get sober, clean up his act, to take his job seriously as an actor. But that swagger, that reputation, that attitude that he used to have played right into his portrayal of Tony. Cruise has a swagger to him also, and I could see him playing the role, but I am SO glad he did not! He would never have had half the heart and pathos. He's a good actor, but he's so weird, with the Scientology thing, and his personal life and marriages, and divorces. he just gives me immense "ick" every time I see him. Knowing him, he probably would have found some ways to incorporate his infamous "I'm my own stunt man" B.S. into these films, and they did not need any of that. Downey checked his ego at the door, and made the franchise into an ensemble piece, as it needed to be; I doubt that Cruise could have done the same.
Terrance Howard was the big star who pushed for RDJ to get the part Howard had already been signed for Ironman and Ironman 2 The studio tried to get Howard to take less money than agreed on for Ironman 2 Howard reached out to RDJ for help in negotiating He was ignored Howard understood that the movie put RDJ back on top and he was getting PAID and did not want to put his career in jeopardy Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle and went on to star in the hit show Empire

Fun fact- its funny you asked who else was in the running for Tony Stark. That would be none other than Tom Cruise. He was the first choice, but turned down the role, and RDJ took it and made history. You have to understand that Robert Downey was still considered a real risk for the studio. He was always a great actor, but he had his demons back in the 90s where he was in and out of jail constantly due to drugs and alcohol related incidents. This was VERY public at the time. And he burned a lot of bridges both in his personal life, and career. So he took on small projects to get back into the good graces and show that he was sober, and reformed. When this role came his way it was a bit of a risk, but one that has paid off in the trillions for Marvel. As they say, the rest is history. Robert Downey Jr. banked on himself and has made a ton of money on the back end of all these movies.
Because Marvel didn't have the rights to its biggest IP - Spiderman, it decided to build around its lesser known characters, which is why we started with Iron Man. Sony has the movie rights to Spiderman. And the MCU has been sharing Spiderman with them. But eventually the plan is to get him back, as back in the day, Marvel was bankrupt and sold off a lot of its characters to make money. Most of them were bought by Fox studios. like X-Men and Fantastic Four. Now both of those are back at Marvel.
The next MCU movie to watch is the Incredible Hulk. Then Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and finally The Avengers movie. This is considered Phase 1 of the MCU. Iron Man 2 does introduce some other characters, like a cameo of Elon Musk. But in answer to your question, yes Rhodey does get a suit that is called the War Machine. With that said, Robert Downey Jr. is the glue that keeps the MCU together. He has arisen like the Phoenix, reborn from the ashes. Just like Tony Stark, he learns from his mistakes.
RDJ's reputation as a "bad boy of Hollywood" really played into his role as Tony Stark. He had already done a lot of personal work to get his head on straight, get sober, clean up his act, to take his job seriously as an actor. But that swagger, that reputation, that attitude that he used to have played right into his portrayal of Tony.
Cruise has a swagger to him also, and I could see him playing the role, but I am SO glad he did not! He would never have had half the heart and pathos. He's a good actor, but he's so weird, with the Scientology thing, and his personal life and marriages, and divorces. he just gives me immense "ick" every time I see him. Knowing him, he probably would have found some ways to incorporate his infamous "I'm my own stunt man" B.S. into these films, and they did not need any of that. Downey checked his ego at the door, and made the franchise into an ensemble piece, as it needed to be; I doubt that Cruise could have done the same.
Terrance Howard was the big star who pushed for RDJ to get the part
Howard had already been signed for Ironman and Ironman 2
The studio tried to get Howard to take less money than agreed on for Ironman 2
Howard reached out to RDJ for help in negotiating
He was ignored
Howard understood that the movie put RDJ back on top and he was getting PAID and did not want to put his career in jeopardy
Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle and went on to star in the hit show Empire
