In this video I demonstrate an extremely simple method of making paste paper that can be used for book covers or endpages. For details on how to make the paste, see this video: • Simple Paper Colouring...
You are amazing! Bookbinding has always seemed tremendously hard and long to me, but you make it look so easy and even fun to do! I am already on my first two self-made bindings. Thank you so much!
Besides the fact I just love your videos as I do as well some books out of blank paper with my 10y daughter , I saw also a very beautiful icon of Holy Mother (called Țarskoe Selo-celebrated on 27th of Nov) glad to see your videos!
Hello, I was looking for ideas how to cover a hard cover ( making a baby junk journal for my grandson) Your channel popped up, and I am so happy it did! Making those papers look like a lot of fun and they turned out stunning! One question: do they need to be sealed with a finishing coat of some sort (for ex Mod Podge) or do you use them as they are? Thanks for sharing your talent and creativity 🤗🕊️
Love your videos! You said the paper you use is 160 g weight paper, short grain? Where do you get this paper? Do you have a local supplier or are you ordering it online? Thank you
@@giovannascotti488 Thank you! It is wheat paste made from flour and water. I show how to make it here. th-cam.com/video/s00LAoo9JVk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OR4FBDIQPuuP0gRv
Will the paste paper get sticky again in a humid climate? Want to cover an old cloth prayer book with leather using old cover as base will this cause problems later?
Thank you! I usually dry them flat wherever I have space, but I have also sometimes hung them up. They will curl up when they dry, so it's a good idea to press them a bit.
Very pretty papers and excellent tutorial❣ I haven't made any paste papers, yet. But, I plan on it in the future. What else can paste papers be used for?
Thank you! They can be used for both endpages and covers in bookbinding, and also for covering boxes. I've also recently used them in making collages (will do a video on that sometime), but I imagine that they may have more non bookbinding uses that I haven't thought of...
I enjoy your videos, I ran across them today. I remember making paste in art class years ago but wasn't taught this method of using it.
These tutorials are brilliant! Thank you so much. Please do continue.
Thanks, sorry about the delay, but I am getting going again.
Thank you. I really appreciate your concise and straightforward presentation style - and the papers are lovely.

Молодец,

You can do a test on a small piece of paper and if it should become sticky, you can probably seal it first with some type of medium.
Great! Thank you!
Two colors! That's wonderful! What kind of paper did you start with?

How do you set them out to dry? Do you just leave them on the counter? Love the colors!
