    Congratulations on a great buck, sitting still for hours in the cold is tough. I'm in Kentucky US and I don't have enough clothing for that weather but love watching your hunts.

    If you go to Ralph’s in snorwood try the bacon tomato curd sausage, James (I believe that’s his name) makes incredible sausage. Joe Donaldson outside of peterborough is another master. I make my own after instructions from James but it never compares

    Is it lack of minerals that they drop the antlers that soon or is it the normal... I thought mid January they drop.

    • @canadaintheroughtv
      @canadaintheroughtv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Antler casting (dropping) is individual for each deer. Stress is a factor in antler casting so injury or poor health can result in them dropping early. In many parts of Canada, it’s not uncommon to see whitetails dropping in mid December through April. The peak of antler casting would be around late January and February

      They drop them after they breed
      Keeps the the danger of being injured lower as they won't fight

    Hello I just started getting interested and hunting and I was wondering why always a heart shot and never a head shot is it a reason?

      Safer bet to take the heart lung. Bigger target.

      @@canadaintheroughtv I’ve hunted the valley for 40 years and shot a few that dressed over 200. Late in the seasons the bucks are usually down in weight. Great meat tho.

      Hunting for hours and days in those bitter temperatures is rough on everyone. No matter how tough you think you are
