Pure catharsis. I’ve adored this boss fight’s design and passion ever since I first saw it at 10 years old. The music, combat style, and even dialogue are just… tear jerkingly awesome to me in such a unique way.
I remember playing this game at my grandparents house when I was a kid they had a PS1 for some reason lol. But only recently have I finally beat the whole game and captured all the monkeys. Feels like I completed something from my childhood lol
I remember being like 10 and being so pumped at this battle. I hope they remaster this game but with the same voice acting files and cell-shaded graphics...
@@TimErwin it has absolutely TERRIBLE voice acting though. They used a bunch of Cartoon Network VAs and made it awful. The original USA voice actors on PS1 were great.
@@anonymous-one Yeah, it's unfortunate this is a dead series though. So that's it. I can't imagine them bringing it back in this "gritty" era of gaming.
@@TimErwinThe fourth game killed the series, I understand the appeal of using the move, however that ruined what make this series great traveling to different worlds and solving puzzles to capture apes.
Man I had to grind so hard to get here. There was one monkey I could not catch for AGES. He was only accessible via a secret underwater path. The frustration, but all worth it.
Hell yeah! He gained the power to conquer the world and when faced off against the arch-nemesis in the final battle, he cared about was man of raised him. You should definitely watch the Japanese version! It's really good. th-cam.com/video/I_ouEKxT1U4/w-d-xo.html

@@gilchristpitts3157 True. I have a feeling it was based on the World's fair or Coney Island's older days. At one time premies were on display there to raise awareness and get hospitals to invest in incubators. One of the first nicu's was actually a theme park.
Wow...i did this fight totally different lol. Oh when he does that explosion thing all you gotta do is run to the edge snd jump once. But i guess your ways a little better i just didn't think to do that

Such a classic game, and the soundtrack is top notch
@@InitialDL84 i was on Spotify listening to the soundtrack “crumbling castle” goes so hard
...never in my life have I seen someone attack first phase specter with a stun club instead of slingshot
I did as a kid. i wanted to defeat him using my sword...
Such a revolutionary game. I was so impressed with this game when it was first released.

They already remastered it on the PSP: Ape Escape On the Loose. That's the best we'll ever get.

natalie has broken her arm when she said look at the time.
That's her yellow wrist watch.
I kind of wish there would've been a cutscene after defeating Specter of him actually surrendering the helmet and taken back to the amusement park.
I wish we'd get an HD remake of this series
Ahhh to be a kid again

REally good style to this game.

So we're not gonna talk about the fan service with spike and Natalie in the special end credits.

What were they going to be late for?
Ape escape is one of my favorite video games ever!😊💜🤍 I like the music in this final level of the game!
battle theme sounds like final boss theme of pumped and primed
The voice acting is better in this version, better than the European version.
I love PS1 and PS2 on US version something about it
EpicTNTArrow, because Pumped and Primed is a remake of the original
What are you talking about? Pumped and Primed is a minigame compilation and sequel. Ape Escape: On the Loose is a remake of the first Ape Escape.
It's more a kids voice in the version I played
can anyone explain why the last item isnt rlly available even tjo the game ended? 😅
Who invented that helmet in the first place
The professor, I think.

No offense this is a great game but those lines ugh! They are really corny!

Ape escape is one of those games where the protagonist is so unlikable you root for the villian.
