Russia is heading to an economic collapse and this might be a big factor in the future development of the war. Who exactly are the extreme Ukraine nationalists mentioned by Owens? May be he should re-phrase this for more accuracy if I may so.

@@allydea errrrrrmm NO! It has failed to reach the nuclear power plant to somehow win a negotiating point and there is nothing else of note in the area. The force is already contained and taking heavy losses. Moreover, these elite forces have been taken away from other areas of the front where Ukraine was already retreating and so weakened those areas even further. Russia has shown it has sufficient forces available to contain the Kursk incursion without diverting resources from Donbass so all of the incursion objectives have already failed. At this point iUkraine is just reinforcing failure and throwing away more resources trying to supply a force surrounded on three sides.

    • @allydea

@@1faustus So far, the losses exchange ratio is in UA's favor. They have taken prisoners and land. They still fully have the initiative in the area. zero Russian troops were diverted from Donbass to defend the charade in Kursk, there's dedicated border forces and reserves that that have flooded the area. Social media has abundant reports of the mercs attacking civilians which seems to be the main tactic of the western planners since 2014 which is to target civilians in an attempt to regime change Putin, it's had the opposite effect of congealing support for President Putin and has encourage many men of fighting age to enlist. All together a huge xFAILx for the west, where their force has failed diplomacy would have won... why are we paying taxes for such blood thirsty and pathetic leaders to sit on office?

Reading between the lines, what is being said in this piece is that Zelensky made a catastrophic miscalculation. The Ukrainians do not have the supplies to hold out in Kursk - when the best option left open following a military incursion is an orderly retreat, then the operation was a complete failure.

Well, Russia never recovered the Kharkiv territory that it lost to the Ukrainians in fall of 2022. So Russia is limited in what it can do. But certainly, if Ukraine can mobilize 500,000 men in the current conditions, Russia can call up 1,000,000.
