I am a 76 year old American civil engineer, living and working in Kherson throughout the war. This is the first positive news that we have had since November, 2023 when the Republicans temporarily blocked the $61B aid for Ukraine and subsequently unblocked earlier this year. The Ukrainian incursion into Kursk, Russian territory, is significant militarily and diplomatically in that it shows that Ukraine can still go on the offensive even given the severe limitations artificially imposed by the pathetic Biden Administration in Washington. Don't get me wrong, I am a lifelong "working class" Democrat as were my parents and grandparents before me and I fully support the Democrats against the Republicans but that does not stop me from pointing out the failures of Biden with respect to Ukraine - and they have been monumental in retrospect. According to the spirit of the Budapest Memorandum, the US should have immediately and effectively supported Ukraine in February, 2022 and the war could have been won in 12 to 18 months. Really. But Biden and his crowd can still do a lot of harm to Ukraine in the next 5 months until Harris gets in. Biden should be forced to step down via the 25th amendment and Harris take over in the interests of natioinal security. The Kursk operation has not yet taken the pressure off of Kherson because we have been getting heavy hits by concentrated artillery fire and multiple Shaheed drones which I experienced personnally. They make the building shake they are so powerful - even at a distance. So the practical actions for my American friends remain the same: continue to contact your democratically elected representatives to get Biden out and really support Ukraine, and support the Democratic party for a big win in November. Have a nice, artillery free, day. lol

Your guest said something about Ukraine not wanting to hold the Russian territory for a long time. This is probably wrong, as Russia is needlessly sending thousands of troops to the area, wasting them quickly, faster than on any other front line. Ukraine will be seen as very innovative to be able to destroy so many Russian Troops so swiftly by invading this section of Russia. And if they can trade one nuclear power plant for another in Ukraine, that is a great way to get the nuclear power plant from being held hostage by the Russians. However some very sane people have said that attacking the nuclear power plant is a very bad idea, and Russia will probably destroy the power plant in Kursk if there is any chance that Ukraine might occupy it, then blame all of the bombs dropped on the Kursk nuclear power plant on Ukraine, even if they had nothing to do with it.
Ukraine has been successful on this incursion due to its employment of manoeuvrist warfare, getting bogged down into the same kinds of engagements we are seeing elseware makes it harder for Ukraine to disengage (withdraw) cleanly. Selection and Maintenance of the Aim is the key principle of war, and if this incursion fails to support the aim (whatever that is) then they will want to extract all its forces.

As the expert notes, in the Kursk region Kiev used "top-notch combat units" having removed them from the front lines in in eastern Ukraine, where they are "desperately needed." "This move is tilting the already lopsided casualty-exchange ratio on that critically important front further in Russia’s favor," he says.

But of course she didnt. She seems to speak before thinking.
There is no serious analyst who sees a scenario in which Ukraine can recover its lost territory using only their own forces. This doesn’t change that assessment. In the first 36yrs the Ukrainian incursion failed when they failed to seize the Kurst power plant and nuclear weapons near by. Russian reaction has been fascinating in its under reaction, cool calm control, first secure the nuclear power plant 1.000% then stabilize the front all with minimal use of the Russian military. No knee jerk reaction. Meanwhile in the south the war goes on...big time.
LMAO, they even secured the KNPP a 1000!!! percent, not even a hundred but a thousand. Really had to try and drive that one home, did ya? What is funny is that the front is not stabilized and the Russian military is fighting hard everyday in Kursk. Only thing is, conscripts are just a bunch of unmotivated young adults. Hence they die or they surrender.
The incursion of Ukrainian troops into Russia’s Kursk Region is run and coordinated by Western special services, said Andrey Ilnitsky, an analyst and former adviser to the Russian Defense Ministry. "The invasion of the Kursk Region is a military operation. It can't all be without coordination and operation by Western special services and Western technology. They supply things to Ukraine that even they themselves may not have. As long as we have the advantage, they will not agree to any negotiations. And these attempts will continue," he said at a youth educational conference. Ilnitsky said the strategy of Western countries is to destroy Russia as an independent sovereign state. "Not everyone, but many people think that this will blow over and things will return to what they were. They won't. I maintain that attempts to weaken Russia from within, to knock it off balance, will continue. One should realize that in fact what is going on in Ukraine is our war with the West. They just turned Ukraine in a kind of a big private military company," the analyst said. Ilnitsky was an adviser to former Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
Taliban hold ‘humiliating’ parade three years after returning to power in Afghanistan th-cam.com/video/ZlJd47w7Pbk/w-d-xo.html The Taliban celebrated the three-year anniversary of returning to power in Afghanistan on Wednesday. The regime paraded US and Soviet-era military weaponry, vehicles and equipment through a former US airbase, Bagram. The Bagram Air Base served a vital role in American operations against the Taliban for 20 years. Videos of the celebration were posted to X, with social media users slamming the Biden Administration’s failures. “This is humiliating,” wrote one user. The botched evacuation by US President Joe Biden’s administration led to the deaths of 13 United States service members.

Not a moment too late with the pro ru account dropping ru news. How many rubles did ya get for this one? Mr vatnik.
@@Deathadder90 there's no such thing as Russian news. All they do is propaganda
🤡.. does that include the thousands of orcs who calmly surrendered?
LMAO, they even secured the KNPP a 1000!!! percent, not even a hundred but a thousand. Really had to try and drive that one home, did ya? What is funny is that the front is not stabilized and the Russian military is fighting hard everyday in Kursk. Only thing is, conscripts are just a bunch of unmotivated young adults. Hence they die or they surrender.
Trench digging didn’t mention drones one star
Lol. No one will ever been fooled, son.

The Taliban celebrated the three-year anniversary of returning to power in Afghanistan on Wednesday.
They didn’t learn the lessons from the Russian defeat in Afghanistan
