    Your voice can help end homelessness. If we do not fix the affordable housing crisis, homelessness will continue to get worse. Click here invisiblepeople.tv/getinvolved to tweet, email, call, or Facebook your federal and state legislators to tell them ending homelessness and creating more affordable housing is a priority to you.

Dragging bags ( or suit case) around towns. Drifter. to Washington, Baltimore, New York (Brooklyn). Terrible, Terrible life. But drugs lead me there. Hard to get off Heroin, Cocaine. But I'm 62 now. @Ahmed Sheikh They do want to work! Most of them want to work! I knew a trustee who went bankrupt, in his mid 40s, landed on the streets, didn't do drugs nor was he mentally unstable and applied for jobs over and over, but mainly didn't get the job because he was homeless. The employers are afraid to give them a chance because of the prejudice that ALL homeless people are druggies, criminals or mentally unstable or whatever. Homeless people are involuntarily stigmatized and discriminated against even still in today's society. Very sad situation. People need to be sensitized about homelessness.

    One of the reasons this tragedy is occurring IS prescription drugs. I know FIRST HAND because they/them decided that one of my family members needed to be "drugged" at 8 years of age. They ploughed her with dope and now at 20 she cannot function. She will NEVER be normal; never have a decent life, and it is because a school who never checked to see the situation decided with NO AUTHORITY to ruin her mind, her health, and her future. These "doctors" make irresponsible destructive decisions over people they do not know, and with FORCE at times, these drugs are given. That is a HUGE part of what is happening; big pharma and the "little" guy. If nothing is done, an entire generation will have been poisoned and thrown out onto the streets in mental illness. I can only imagine that plenty of the homeless people are victims of this atrocious crime!!!!! And for what??? Money???

    If he works, why is he still homeless? Is the competition for housing that strong there? I know where I live a typical rent is $1000 plus and you have to pass all kinds of credit and background checks. Maybe some people just aren't in the system enough to compete on that level. What the developers call urban blight is really housing that the poor can afford. I guess the poor are just a blight any more.

    I pray for the homeless, and there isn’t an errand that I do that I don’t see several homeless people on the street, or at a bus stop bench, or even camped between walls and bushes...I make sure to smile and wave whenever I catch the eye of a homeless person, and keep water handy in my car for them...God is no respecter of persons, and He loves each and every one of us. And He wants us to love each other, and care for one another. Every one you encounter becomes your neighbor. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
    Matthew 5:42-48
    “Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
    43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
    44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
    45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
    46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
    47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
    48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

    His answer to the three wishes question is so funny. But I expect Bill Gates could actually help to end homelessness if he chose to, I wonder why that isn't part of his philanthropic work....

    There are far more people feeling sorry for the homeless than there is homeless. Why doesn't everyone that feels sorry for them, take one in and help them? Why? Because they really don't care, they just wanna pass the problem to the rest of us that don't want them living under bridges. 34 years? Seriously? That's a hardcore homeless person! Do you believe that it takes 34 years to get your shit together? Did you hear what he said? I became homeless after a marriage failure, broken heart. So have many of us, but we don't let that stop us from having a decent life.

    i have never seen any homeless since I was here between 2010-2013 and of course I'm back again. I was homeless in Hillsboro, or ( five years) choose to be I had a huge distrust with roommates once I found out the tricks to living out of a suv I did learned so much more knowledge to work on my own vehicle mike runs a DIY shop so i could have my suv worked on my self for 30 an hour, had a great paying job in the semi conductor field as a modification guy but lost that job and I'm back in Austin. if I could live out of my suv and tough it out in Austin I would and have a great paying job I would so much freedom.

    The city and state just announced that it will be opening a homeless campsite off of 183 outh and Montopils area on 5ac of land and not one representative from either agency sent out noticed or asked input from the residents of this area. Just took it upon themselves to move it to a minority district period! That's not going to work for us! Why don't they move it the the West side of town? They too have alot of unused landbut No! It doesn't fit thier agenda to see it in thier backyard! I'm along time resident and taxpaying citizen of Montopolis and I call upon all residents and constituents to call your state Representatives to voive your concerns about this Now! Remember! They work for us ! Not we for them and we also have a voice in this matter! This will not work as a solution for solving the homeless crisis! 🙏👎

    If they don't hire you hire yourself buddy. Educate yourself online and TH-cam videos... How to fix things. You will be off the streets soon. Jobs only give other people control of your life. Create your own money generator. Move to a bigger market than Austin. Go someplace like New York City, Vegas or Miami. To start off work for People Ready.... Get a touch screen 📱 and they will send jobs on app. $50 phone at Walmart buddy and $60 to start services. Also you can apply to work at a homeless shelter. While you work there.... Push your own business or way of making passive income.

    34 years of wasted life. I wish that I could trade that 34 years of precious life for my home and retirement income. I am 88 years old and very few years in which to live. I would surely not waste those 34 years with excuses.

    This is sad, but it's obviously by choice. 34 years of homelessness is the definition of insanity (expecting a different outcome with the same input). Bring back state hospitals! Our tax dollars are already being wasted, so why not just house them out of sight and out of mind? Sounds ruthless, because it is. We cant fix these problems without getting the streets cleaned first....
