Great videos - I watched all your Q400 stuff now. Sorry about what happend to FlyBe though. Why do pilots leave the autopilot in so long, especially when visual?
Thanks for your kind words. Despite being visual all the way down the valley. The route being followed down the valley is a published procedure that needs to be flown accurately. Leaving the autopilot in allows us to monitor the vertical profile down the valley too and keep an eye out for gliders (as you saw in the video). Don't get me wrong any opportunity to get my hands on it, I would, but some times it's nice to enjoy the views too ;-)
