      @@CityRockhounding Yep Kay's awesome, rocks awesome, and yes lots of fun. The anticipation since I first got them was driving me crazy. Had to get it done.
      Oh and another video is almost ready. Hopefully this weekend. I did the unboxing of your rocks, the cuts, the reveal, and now I'm editing. That video is fun to do. Cool rocks but also because there's an absolutely ridiculous part in there as my personal thanks to you. I'm a little embarrassed about it but the family says, just do it.
      Cue the poem...but did I really speed it up into a rap? Oh no Fred, what have you done. 🤦 🤣

      Did I show you the one I had polished up? I'll have to see if I can figure out where I put it. It actually took a really nice shine around the 600 grit.

    Definitely some interesting and cool material. Never seen it before. Reminds me of another material, can’t remember the name of, that is basically fossilized beans. Not saying that’s what those are. Cool stuff Fred.

      @@JnVrockhounding Fossilized beans? That would be interesting. I've read these oolites start as grains of sand or shell bits, that get tumbled and layered in highly calcium carbonated water. The grains get layered and layered over time to create the oolites. Those layered grained oolites end up on the sedimentary bed, and get cemented together to give us the rocks.

    these lovely oolites demonstrate the ripening of the fruit of these rocks given more time ....... very beautiful - i would be tempted to infill or set the ones with gunk between and show that off too as a specimen to do just what you have done - a wonderful illustration !

      @@Betty-RockBetty I've got family in Ashland so maybe a trip to see them, and then a jaunt eastward. Plus my brother is working on getting a placer gold claim about half way that he wants to show me. And because of me doing this channel, he's now a rock freak. I got em 😆.

      They pull an oolitic boulder out of the road along with a bunch of smaller stuff on their trip there.

    Ooids under polarized microscope light are beautiful when they are replaced by silica (agate)

      I'd never heard of that before so I looked it up. I see what you're saying. I don't have that equipment but I do have a blacklight and I was looking at the images when you made this comment.
