- Welcome Everyday Reviewers to our in-depth review of the 2024 Acura TLX Type S, the latest in Acura's lineup of high-performance sedans. In this video, we dive into what makes the TLX Type S a standout in its class.
Under the hood, the TLX Type S packs a punch with its 3.0-liter Turbocharged V6 engine, delivering an impressive 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. This power is harnessed through Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, ensuring exceptional traction and stability in all conditions. FWD is available in the US but in Canada, only SH-AWD.
One of the standout features of the TLX Type S is its adaptive suspension system, which dynamically adjusts to provide both a smooth ride and sharp handling. Coupled with larger wheels and Brembo brakes, the TLX Type S offers precise control and stopping power, enhancing the driving experience whether you're on winding roads or cruising on the highway.
Inside, the TLX Type S is equipped with a luxurious and tech-forward cabin, featuring premium materials and cutting-edge amenities. The driver-centric cockpit includes Acura's latest infotainment system with a high-resolution display and intuitive controls, keeping you connected and entertained on the go.
But it's on the road where the TLX Type S truly shines. The combination of its powerful engine, responsive handling, and advanced suspension system makes every drive an engaging experience. Whether you're pushing it through corners or enjoying a comfortable cruise, the TLX Type S delivers a blend of performance and refinement that is hard to match.

Great review! That color combo looks beautiful! I wish Acura would create a manual version for the TLX type-S. Ihave a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD 6 speed manual transmission and I love it!
I cant justify paying 65k for this car!
Agreed, waiting a few more years when it’s affordable and rates are down
I stand behind you, the price tag on this is outrageous. Theres is plenty of used TLX on the market, they dont hold value.
We're just looking at it and being told about it. Driving it may make an enthusiast not mind the price much. Looking at it, I think driving it is an experience.
@@kawasakiwhiptwo5821well said, I own the 24 TLX type s and when I turn on that surround sound system, and that bass comes on, it really enhances the driving experiences. I own it since April 2025, and I have 7k miles in it so far it’s definitely the experience. The car is very quick but not fast compared to others. Quick speed changes + amazing suspension + quality audio = amazing driving experience. I’ve been producing music for over 15+ years and I say this car has a wonderful sound system.
@@kawasakiwhiptwo5821 Thats the problem. It offers poor performance for the $.
I remember the Dinan upgrade to your BMW. Finally, someone you can live with the Acura touchpad. And, no mention of the easy to use gear buttons. The steering wheel controls is what most owners use anyways. This car would be much more expensive if it had a German badge on it. Bang for the buck!
@@leegg2033 My biggest regret was letting my 335 xi coupe go. My favourite car I’ve owned.
@@EverydayReviews2022 Your Acura TL is one of the best cars Acura has made. My 2005 Acura TSX is 19 years old & still reliable. So, is my 2021 Acura A-Spec RDX.
Nice review. I know they’re different cars, but which would you rather have…this or the Integra Type S?
I prefer Acura Type S more fun driving manual
I find the Integra for 50k+ to be a hard buy personally.
The colour options in Canada are lacking. All of the better exterior options ONLY have the red interior and that red was a huge no for me otherwise it was 90% a sale. The other 10% was the infotainment setup. Ended up going M340i and I love it.
Pls tell me i can get black on black
@@Tribuneoftheplebs Not in Canada, your only option is the red. In the US though, they went the other way and the only option is the black interior for the Black exterior.
@@DaveHazellit’s crazy. Imagine the urban gray with the blue leather seats like the MDX has. Or the orchard in the black. I don’t get why they limit it.
You are crazy, if it doesn’t have the red seats it’s a dealbreaker for me
@@kenzobankz4490 Fair enough, whatever floats your boat. To me it's a gaudy ugly red, similar to Audi's and Jaguar's. Not appealing in the slightest. If they had offered an option though like every other auto maker, they'd probably sell more cars which they need badly. 40+% decline in sales in the first quarter of 2024 on the TLX alone. It's a gorgeous car, nicest TLX yet without a doubt, but 4 colour options for the Type S with no options for interior customization? Hard No.
Really like the car..good luck trying to find one in the US
There are a bunch within 50 miles of my house for $58,000 lol not that rare
@@mattg7271 ok I don’t live by your house and the closet I see on auto trader from Dallas Texas is Colorado Springs and then Florida which is not worth it for me.
Bruh I think they are only sold in the US
@@Berezzy Also in Canada and Mexico
I'm in the market for a a new AWD sports sedan that makes it to 60mph in 5 sec...more or less, under 60k. But always seems to be 1 or 2 things wrong in every car I like. The BMW M340i... horrible dash board..hate it, the Lexus IS350.... to slow.... IS500.... no AWD, Infiniti Q50.... outdated exterior and interior, Alpha Romeo Giulia....also needs more horses. This Acura TLX although a bit overpriced....no rear leg room compared to its exterior size , may be the winner.
What you gonna do if your tire blow out?
@@RoBDeeZL42 tire mobility kit. If it’s too bad then roadside assistance. Unfortunately this is the new reality as more often now new cars aren’t coming with spare tires. I’d say probably 50% if the cars I test do not come with spares anymore if not more.
@@EverydayReviews2022 interesting. Every single car ive owned i had to use the spare tire at least once. Waiting on roadside assistance sounds like a pain in the ass.
Sound, looks, and reliability are fantastic. Everything else, ehh.
I would buy one for $40-45k if I drove it and its competitors and didn’t want to gamble with the Germans.
Sharp looking, solid vehicle. However no longer the performance value it once was.
This car should compete with lexus IS50
it’s wild they came out after everyone and debuted the lowest hp and worst mpg in class. wild
Is500 over this anyday of the week
The IS500 is 14k more than this….Not chump change. This is a sport touring car, not a drag car, people got to get that through their heads.
three years ago when I bought my TLX Type S for $59.5 CAD ($44k USD), I was cross-shopping the Lexus IS350 F-sport package 3, which was at the time the same price surprisingly. I think the Acura MSRP has increased at lot more than the Lexus IS350 since then though.
I would rather buy a 2022+ stinger 3.3 awd.
Yeah, but it’s a Kia that will feel like a Kia a couple years down the road.
Stinger was discontinued
@@chrisp1733 You don't know what you're talking about ... smh
@@TheBreakfastLover so is elentra n, sonata , g70 , ct4. Not many sedans left.
@@Jaysa11 Nissan Altima is getting discontinued too.
I’ll get a solid used one when they’re in the 40k range. This car costs too much for its downfalls, even as a daily driver
I miss seeing your wife on your reviews
Debuted at the back of the pack. Too heavy, too slow, too small inside. Meh.
The TLX Type S beat all its competitors at MotorTrend's hot lap.
@@TheBreakfastLover The Skidpad Figure 8. You seem smart - two 300 ft diameter circles and you call that a track. I see. Of course, it got KILLED on Car and Driver's Lightning Lap, which is an actual track. And that is with aftermakret brake pads because it couldn't get around a lap without warping the rotors. Go Troll someplace else.
@@layne4376 why can't the M340i xDrive beat the TLX in the Figure-8?
The screen size is pathetic
Yep looks outdated
Such a gorgeous car but unfortunately too slow and heavy for the competition
Hernandez John Gonzalez Brenda Jackson Mark
65k I'm rolling an IS500.
Lol, what makes you think an IS500 is 65k, it’s about $14k more…base!
.... and the name of your planet is .... what again ???? smh
Rodriguez Scott Miller John Taylor Brian
Heavy and slow af for the price
Name one direct competitor at its price point with a faster lap time.
