We saw a HIghway 55 on Interstate 81on a trip to Pennsylvania (or at least we thought we did). So on our next trip we looked for it and could not find it. If it wasn't a HWY 55 it was a retro style diner similar to it. We would love to try one. The food looked good and was very reasonably priced. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with you 100%. When we started this channel, I figured we would take criticism for a lot of things. But that was one I didn't see coming. You would be amazed how many people get very upset about me using A-1 on steak. I don't mean they just don't like it. I mean they become livid about it. That just amazes me. But I agree with you. I use it on steak and on my burgers.
The cheese steak sandwich was really filled and looked delicious! I never been on or at highway 55. 😢 Fur babies and human babies pull the heartstrings of sooo many people, including me. ❤ Blessings to you both and of course the cutest fur babies.
Bread, I had to give it up ..all varieties..I make cloud bread at home..very simple recipe..eggs and cream cheese. When I got off bread is when I started losing weight. That was 3 yrs ago. I had a burger tonight..cooked with onions and bacon..my side was broccoli and cauliflower.. Carbs are a beast, or they were for me. I’m almost 62, so this is a lifetime change. Thanks for sharing Hwy 55😊

I've been to the one at the beach in Emerald Isle NC and thought it was good too. It had a 50's style decor, black and white tiled floor and all. I figured they all had that look until I saw this one. Shawnasi's sandwich looked good so I'd probably order that next time I go to Hwy 55. Seems as though the dogs stole the show this time!
Yes, we had been to the one in Morganton before, and also the one in North Myrtle Beach. Both of those are gone now. They both had more of a retro look and feel than this one does.
I did get the cheese for my fries. I'm not a big fan of chili on fries, so I actually asked them to hold that. She loves tots, so I'll suggest that to her for next time.
I'm sorry you're having a bad experience at the one near you. Any time that happens to me, I call up there, and they usually make it right, and then throw in something for the trouble. Haven't had it happen at a Highway 55, but certainly at other places, it has.

We had a Hwy. 55 near us in Elgin, SC no longer there, it did have one of the best Philly cheese steaks, we have eaten! The Pimento Burger is good if you like Pimento Cheese it makes for a creamy cheeseburger. Thanks for sharing this review, enjoy the outdoor dining🙂
