- Take a look inside Australia’s only nuclear reactor OPAL. At the heart of ANSTO’s research capabilities is the OPAL research reactor which is one of the world’s most effective multipurpose research reactors. OPAL is used for scientific research, the production of medical radioisotopes, and the irradiation of silicon used in microelectronics and other specialised irradiations for research and industry.

Thanks for entering into the details about how the reactor works and what are the names of its components.
That was very informative.
Thank you, ANSTO!
Just awesome
Very Kool!
Can mirrors uses great reflection to increase more neutrons?
Did they try to irradiate a depleted U-238? Just for fun, irradiate, keep it in the pool for 3weeks, dissolve it in nitric acid .... a bit of magic.... funny metal as a result.
Tanks by manufactured INVAP!!
THIS IS 100 %ARGENTINE HIGH TECH, THE WHOLE DESIGN WAS DELIVERED BY INVAP
400x 10 ^12 /s that's 400x10^6 /s neutron rate better than my old isotopic garage rig
Made in Argentina!!..... opal
Pablo Puerta ummm it’s in Australia
Thomas Webster invap de Argentina ok
INVAP-ARGENTINE DESIGN&NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY FOR AUSTRALIA!
Only part off it is from Argentina most off it is Australia design and is one off only three top reactors in the world! Australia leads the world in a lot off nuclear research!!
Process, mechanical, control systems designed by Argentinian engineers for most of the part, and Australian engineers needed to add design experience to all of this in review for being aligned with ANSTO and regulator requirements. Big job so needed all hands on deck.
Who else have came here for school assessments? Because I do
chem is terrible
do reaction videos
Only part off it is! not the whole thing. Its Australian made and the best in the world for nuclear research!!
@@NathanChisholm041 It is not australian made, it was designed by Hi Tech Argentinian State owned Company INVAP and the essential nuclear parts were ALL produced by argentine firms, the aussies were more involved in the civil works
boring
dumb dog ur the boring one
Maybe science is not your thing
Please watch something you do enjoy
So you can remain positive
Have a nice day
Just awesome
