This was such a pleasant surprise! My two favorite UK car youtubers together- and awesome content. Also it was interesting to me as a Wiltshire person to discover that Ben was born in Chippenham. I have seen Ben's mum on his channel and was sure that although they are in Cheshire, she had a Wiltshire accent. Keep up the good work Steph and Ben!!
This was fantastic Steph, I love Bens channel. Great interview. And if I'm not the first to say, can I just say you look fab, absolutely love that vintage suit. Gary
Great and interesting interview Steph. I follow Ben with his Tasty Classics. He's a great laugh, will have a go at anything, down to earth and cheers me up after a challenging day.
One of the great things about Ben's channel is the video lengths. I'ts very unusual for these types of channels to run 1,2,3hr episodes. Now normally when I scan through my recommendations/channel subscribe updates etc, anything pushing 20/30mins and your thinking 'well maybe I'll see it out or just check over the bullet parts/points etc' depending on subject matter. The strange thing with Ben's uploads is that it's easy to sail through watching him for an hr+, which I don't normally do (except a film maybe). Testament to his editing and presentation. A perfect example of why I've dumped terrestrial t.v many yrs ago and have now seen channels like Ben's that easily match the quality of style that I used to enjoy through T.V. The merging of same subject channels is a bonus. I also recommend Auto Shenanigans, Mark Felton, Tech moan to name 3 that have that same old T.V quality style.
So good to hear Bens backstory and journey so far. Been following his channel but the lore before Tasty Classics always intrigued me. Gives plenty of good ideas for my own new projects 😊
Two of my favourite car TH-camrs, loved this one and well done Ben for not swearing ! Although your swearing on Tasty Classics does make me laugh. Wonderful way to spend an hour or so on a Saturday morning 🥰
Ben's channel is my favourite on TH-cam. He's bullshit free and hilariously funny whulst getting the job done! Great video! I've now subscribed to you too.
Have followed Ben from the start, am patreon and he did up our dear old SAAB which was destined for the scrapper. I've also done some art work for him because he really deserves appreciation for what he does and how he entertains us. So glad you have become connected, I think Ben will be right up there with the rest of you top lot and I really enjoyed the interview.
Steph so glad you met up with Ben and did this video. This guy is an absolute legend, love how he does the videos and refreshing ‘honest’ filming and restoration. Great to watch you two chatting a great watch
Hi Steph, great interview with Ben, watched it on both channels. I couldn't believe the abuse and harassment you have suffered, too many mindless idiots about on the internet! Your Proton and Ben talking about a Lada bought memories back! When Your Proton was new, a 20 something me was working at a Proton dealer in the Midlands, they also sold Lada. What I can remember is that a PDI (pre delivery inspection) on a Proton was basically a quick check to make sure everything worked, levels etc, and there was never a problem and they rarely came back under warranty. The Lada,,s were a different story! The most popular and worst model at the time was the Riva. Usually the PDI started with trying to get the doors to fit and close properly, they rarely did, due to misalignment of the bodyshell. They also made the dealership a fortune in warranty work, usually broken components. Great channel and keep up the great work!
Great interview!! 2 Great channels chatting cars and loving it!! I have been watching both your channels for a very long time and can't wait to see the next video from you both!! Cheers!
I truly enjoyed this video and because I have watched both your videos and Ben's videos I appreciated what you were trying to achieve with this one, well done Steph.
Enjoyed this one a lot. Steph, you let Ben speak without interrupting every few seconds as seems to happen on every other talk programme. I will check out his utube channel now that I know about it. Thankyou for an excellent presentation. Pet hates are all BMW's (arrogant, ignorant and aggressive drivers) that never use indicators and lately the bigger newer Audi's. Range Rover drivers are in a class of their own entitlement. 60 years driving/riding and I believe courteous and capable.. Watch the incoming flak. Haha
I think a lot of modern interviewers are very aggressive and rushed. Especially on some of the satellite tv channels. Letting your guest speak is important and they’ll often give you more info than you anticipate x
Thanks so much to Steph and Ben for providing this video. Such an amazing and interesting chat, you both looked so relaxed and comfortable with each other and I loved this chat. Loved hearing about Ben's plans for the year ahead, and that Bentley Continental GT proposal is such a great idea.
Just subscribed to Steph and already with Ben . What a refreshing video- no airs and graces- so down to earth. Here in Adelaide I loved Steph’s recent video on a UK 16/80(?) Wolseley - had a superior 24/80 here in Adelaide- traded it in an Aussie Austin Kimberley- on of the worst things I’ve ever done.
Steph just watched the podcast on wings and wheels with you and Ben. This has to be one of the best things I’ve watched this year. Definitely Steph you should be back on in the bar with you and Wynn. Steph, well a whole new level of respect for your honesty and incredible outlook on life. You are an inspiration. Shame I won’t make it to Rustival but thanks for this two hours of great viewing. If your at Revival please come to the main paddock where I’ll be marshalling. I would love to meet you in person if for nothing else than to say thank you.
A very interesting interview with someone who I confess I had never heard of before this video. I agree with him on parts supply here in the UK. When a car was built parts were available for a period of time but it seems there comes a point when manufactures say 'well that car should be off the road now so we don't need to hold parts for it anymore'. It is down to economics I think from the manufacturer's point of view but it wasn't always the case, you could go into a 'car shop' and buy a 'bit that goes on . . .' without much problem. Anyway thanks Steph for doing this video, very well done and of course thanks to Ben for agreeing to be interviewed . 👍👍
Great to see Ben on your channel and an interesting interview. He's a talented bloke! Welding, painting, and mechanics, and he's super funny almost all the time. The Rover P4 resurrection was a brilliant transformation.

Yeah I bet. Really nice guy, tho with a great attitude to life. Wish I could think like that. I would have been in a blind panic with no lights and 40mph. Good luck to him.
Totally with you on parts availability in the UK. My Clio RS is coming up to 16 years old and I really struggle to find some parts for it. Well done for a great vid 👍👍
@@idriveaclassic Yes, I saw that. It's incredibly frustrating hunting down parts for a car that you love. In the case of Renault, they never say that they'll not have that part available again. They use the dreaded term 'on back order' 🙄🙄
The parts thing at the video is true its a right pain at times. Plus the quality is so hit and miss, I am doing a MG Midget at the moment so not a rare car but I am still using about 5 suppliers. Quality issues I've found is things like condensers and points, three sets I bought until I got a set that works. Also the over inflated prices, I paid a small fortune for a SU service kit and new needles.
My issues were as daft as a gap opening up next to the plastic trim on the transmission tunnel where I would see the road below. A fusebox cover that fell open when you went over bumps. I sold the car with 25000 miles on the clock. I only had it for one year. I noticed it disappeared off the roads only a few years later!
