Hi, great work 👍 Can you please provide the wiring or schematic diagram for this power meter and the software for the esp32? Many thanks.

I imagine this must be a low power average power laser, not like the 10w lasers on a laser cutter! The small diode would never survive!

You can make it survive by ensuring it is not focused. But you will need to calculate the beam size at the point you take the measurement and look at the data sheet for the area the sensor covers and multiply the ratio. By ensuring it stays away from the focal point, there is much less intensity of the beam so it will not burn. But of course it will have an error factor so it will never be an exact measurement. But if done in this manner you could get some sort of measurement of the laser. However I wouldn't try it on a co2 60 watt or higher because even the unfocused beam to the mirror is normally enough to burn painters tape. I normally put a piece of tape on the front of thr mirror to adjust the beam and mirrors and it burns the tape, and that is before the focus lense. But on a diode laser, normally you can get far enough away to spread the beam to prevent burning. If you have a lense that spreads the beam even better. Just my thoughts, I have not tested it but it should work.
