    Dear Sir. Both Part I and II were excellently presented. Thanks.
    I would like to recommend a minor change in logic.
    The Price with which we purchase from Vendors is same as the Price we sell to Customers. Ideally, the Cost Price and Selling Price should be separate fields.

    I noticed for this inventory manager that if you click the column headers D to K Range("B1") goes blank, this causes the button to shift to the left , making the button going out of bounds.. For those who are beginners like me, you can simply add a code in in sheet1 (If Sheet1.Range("B1").Value = "" Then
    Sheet1.Range("B1").Value = "Purchase"
    End If" If there are better ways to do it, please let me know as I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

    Hi Randy, watching the video, I find this is good for tracking inventory totals, but I don't see anything in the program that identifies the location of the inventory which should be part of any inventory program. This would help for inventory picking, restocking, annual physical counts etc. What would be helpful if there were additional fields added for physical location, ie building, row, shelf etc. I have no VBA experience whatsoever, so modding the program for me would be a daunting task. Maybe in future update consider adding a location. Thanks for all of the hard work making these videos/programs, your time and effort is much appreciated.

      It's not that bad to add extra fields, you'd just need to add them to your original box, make sure you map them just like the other boxes, and make sure the fields clear when you go to add a new transaction or item number. I did then when I was following along with the video, added an extra 3 fields or so. I have no visual basic experience prior to this.

    Great exercise. What would have to change if you wanted to change product price but only for future sales leaving previous transactions alone?

      Hi David, thanks so much for your comment for each transaction such as a sales invoice you can save a history of transactions, so you would just save the price it is sold at within a table.     Thank you! You saved me a few hours of work at our food bank, I found a bit of code that wasn't needed on part 1 which was throwing a debugging error in VS, not allowing the purchase, sale button to perform correctly, once fixed worked flawlessly. I noticed in part2 that code was fixed. lol. Great tutorial tho!! subbed/notifications.

      Hi Thomas, thanks so much. After creating this video I realized that some versions of Excel threw a bug when using the same name for a shape and a macro (as long as the macro names and shape names are different it works just fine)

    When following the video, the code is different then the download, when i change the "MoveBtn"to "MoveBtn1) it works. here what i changed it to:

      It may have been because I named the Macro the same as the shape, (which I should not have done) when the macro and the shape have the same name, some versions of Excel have a problem with this. I hope this helps. Thanks very much.

    This was an amazing tutorial to watch. The closest that i could find that i can use. Ill be looking through your other videos, do you have any that you would recommend for a MLM that keeps inventory?     Hi! I'm done with the application and I'm so grateful! I just have one question. On the "product" sheet, I have a column for Qty on Hand and Purchase Qty and for these columns, the data is not getting transferred when is loaded on the transaction sheet. How do I manage to get the data transferred to the product sheet? Thanks for everything!

      HI and thanks so much. You can use a shared dropbox folder for the pictures. Then, within the admin, have them browse for their picture folder, and you browse for your picture folder. Once this path is combined with the picture name, it will create a proper file path for any computer. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

    I followed along mostly with the videos, though I did a little modification to add some additional information to each product. I'm having alot of trouble working out bugs and figure out how to add a few useful features lol. For example, when I say I made another purchase of a same item I had already purchased, it shows both transactions on the transaction list, but on the product page it replaces the original information with the new information. It'd be nice if I can get it to average the price between the mulitple purchases, and increase the quantity on hand which stays at 1. Gonna have to invest a bit more research haha also, sometimes I know the total of a transaction, but not the individual price off the top of my head. It'd be cool if I could figure out how to get that total calculation to work in reverse as well if I type the total price in its spot, it'd be cool to see the individual price calculated. I don't know if I'll be able to do that though, have two boxes that calculate to each other.

    Thank you for an amazing tutorial. I have a question since i don't anybody post a question about the issue that i encountered after downloaded your code. If i kept clicking on the purchase and sales button, i noticed that the size is increasing even though the property was locked. Did anybody encounter the same issue that I have? Please let me know if you have a solution for it. I really appreciate that.

      HI and thanks. This is possible when it is grouped. However to fix this you can reset the side each time it is clicked just to make sure it does not change such as something like
      With .Shapes("MoveBtn")
      .Width = 20
      .Height = 20
      End with

    What if we want to add multiple products in front of one customer..? As here.. We can add only one product, if we want to add multiple products in front of one customer.. we need to do new transaction with same customer if we want to add other product with same customer..

    This inventory manager is exactly what I was searching for, thank you for your efforts!
    I programmed everything, according to your instructions, but there's two problems that I encountered:
    the selected transaction row (B2) does not update automaticly (therefor the clicked item doesn't get highlited and I'm not able to delete/edit), I tried to get my head around, why that would be, but without any luck. I even downloaded your worksheet to try and figure it out, but it wouldn't work either, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
    the second problem I have is, everytime I try to select an existing transaction, I get the error
    "runtime error 1004 vba method range of object _worksheet failed"
    which then takes me to the vb line
    "If TransCol 10 Then .Range(.Cells(16, TransCol).Value).Value = .Cells(TransRow, TransCol).Value ' Load Items

      Hi and thanks for your comment. For the 1st issue it would be difficult to tell, but make sure calculations are set to automatic, and you have the correct ID, and the named range is also correct. For the 2nd issue, make sure you know the value of the 'TransCol' using F8 to step through. Then check row 16 of that specific column (TransCol) and make sure that in that cell there is a cell address such as C6 or D4, or whatever the mapped cell is.
      I hope this helps.     Amazing tutorial. I do have a question. How can I make this work with a barcode scanner? I am trying to implement that. Having a barcode scanner and automatically fill out the spreadsheet. As soon as an order is complete receive an alert/notification. Thx

      Hi and thanks. A barcode scanner, when connected via USB port, will act as a keyboard interface and duplicate the actions of a keyboard. So all you would need is an entry field to enter the ID # and it will automatically fill in. I hope this helps.     Amazing video thanks for the help. Just one question, when I add a new sales transaction, what do I need to do in order to rest the quantity of the product I sold in the product section. What I want is that automatically when I sell/purchase a product, it subtracts/adds in the product section

    Amazing workbook. I have copied the VBA code to my workbook to compare and ensured everything was the same. However the qty on hand is not being pulled through, when I input new stock onto the product tab, the data is not capturing qty on hand. Also when I input a new product and it asks would I like to save this works but the qty on hand is not affected. Do you have a link to the VBA code for this to work. Keep up the great tutorials

    This is fantastic, thank you! A couple of questions: Is it possible to create code to select multiple items from the Product # dropdown? There may be a customer who orders multiple items in one order (i.e. ketchup, mustard, relish, hotdogs and buns) and it may not be time efficient to create a new transaction for each order. My concern is how the sales price would calculate in this format if all the items are different quantities and prices... I'm sure there are ways around that through VBA code though - even though it would be complex :) Any feedback you could provide would be helpful!

    Thank you soooo much for your courses. I fully admire how you can think of all these "impossibilities" to become possible! I am following the full tutorial step by step. Just got one question. I have added new columns based on my need so that Range is not 5-11 anymore. However, I receive error and debug is at here:
    For ProdCol = 5 To 21
    If ProdCol 13 Then .Range(Sheet2.Cells(1, ProdCol).Value).Value = Sheet2.Cells(ProdRow, ProdCol).Value
    Does number of columns in Transaction sheet have to match the number of columns in Product sheet? In any case, how should I change the macro?

I created a training to help you fix this exact bug, but basically your data mapping is set for the # of columns so when you change that, you then have to update the data mapping.       Hi Leyla, thanks for your comment. You can add a unique key such as a number and then use the Max Formula + 1 to add a unique key for each new record, such as
      Sheet1.Range("A" & InvRow).value = Max(InvNumbers)+1

Because right now I want to generate a specific primary key for all the transaction and if i want to search for the transaction, I just have to call the ID and no need to scroll to look for the transaction

    Hello, thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial! Quick question, is there a way to easily copy all the quantities on hand to a new inventory worksheet? After using it for several months, there may be thousands of transactions and I would like to start fresh using those existing quantity numbers. Maybe a new workbook each month or quarter would be ideal, without having to enter the stock levels starting from 0 each time.

      Hi again, at the moment when i select purchases and select product id it brings up the sales price and if i change that it changes the info in the products table, when i select the purchase button should it get info from another products table for purchase if so how would i do that and intergrate it into the program.     It is great video. But i actually looked for in the internet automated one. How to do excel like shop programs. I mean lets say i have shop, i want to sell products by barcode scanner, so i dont need to search products manually, everything will be found by scanning barcode. Thank you for all your efforts, I am having an issue with Video pat 2 code as the customer cell will not update when I change the entry for cell E5 on the transactions sheet. I have verified all is exactly like that within the video and up to said point, all works fantastic.       Hi Barry, thanks very much, you will want to make sure that the Target.Column + 10 cell contains a whole number.
      That means if you add 10 columns to the column you just changed, there should be whole number in that cell (same row)

    I've been using your template for over 2 years and it really helpful.
    all went very well until i reached the transaction on row 999,
    after row 999, starting from row 1000 onwards, the function in the template no longer appears in the sel. trans row, also does not appear in the sale or purchase transaction table.
    can you please help me with this problem so i can still use this template in the future.

    Hey Randy, I can not say enough about your teaching and replying back to comments. You are way ahead of most on TH-cam, but i do have another questions about Buttons. Is there a place you can see the list of Buttons that are created. Seems there are a few that do not have a good name. Button to coding. This is: .Shapes("ExistTransGrp").Visible = msoCTrue. this is the error. Doesn't like the name of the Button.
    Just need to know where to go to find the names.

      Hi David, thanks so much. You can see a list of all Shapes (and Groups of Shapes) when in Excel you click on the main menu item "Page Layout" then click the "Selection Pane". You will then see a list of shapes in which you can edit names direly from that pane. This will also show visible and hidden shapes & groups as well. I hope this helps.

    Hey Randy, great work as always! I would like to know if it’s possible to create a delivery note using the sales option and pressing save. For example I currently make Delivery notes on excel and them export to pdf. Is there a way to accommodate this? As this would mean inventory would change as items are sold and a delivery note is made so we do not need to create one manually?

      Hi Yaseer, yes sure its possible. You can add additional fields to include notes or any other type of field. You can also then Print to PDF in order to save it as a PDF, or export as PDF.     Hi! This system is helping me so very much. Im using the version that I got by singing up for your email. One quick question--when I add my own products in (both on the transaction and products tabs) I am not getting any results in the "Qty on Hand" section. I am using this system from the ground up, so i have 0 items on hand at the outset. I purchased 3300 gloves from a vendor and added them into the system via the "new transaction" button, and then sold 240 to a client and added that transaction via sales. However, throughout this process, there is no data in the "qty on hand" field. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you again!

    Hello! Suppose a Customer buys multiple products in a single transaction, do you always have to click new transaction after entering 1 product? So it would be one product, then save, then another product and save? Is it not possible to let's say Customer A bought items on a certain date, so can it be entered multiple items under his name then save?

      Hi Ahmad, Thanks very much for your comment. In most cases for multiple purchases you would want to use more of a traditional invoice in which multiple products can be purchased at one time by a customer. Likewise, a Purchase Order can be created in which multiple products can be purchased from a single vendor.     quick question what if there are multiple products in one order? how does this work? is there some sort of button that show a list of products in one PO?

    I have just started to use inventory and just wanted to ask , due to the nature of our business (medical products) going forward for us, could product LOT numbers and expiry dates be added as these are a constant change as new products are purchased. An option for VAT/TAX calculations and different prices for the same product dependant on which customer purchases. Thank you

    Hi, Thanks for the video, looking useful. However I have a problem in Visual Basic: at 1:10 in the video you switch from General to Worksheet. When I do that a window pops up: 'Variable uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic'. Is it just a setup that I must change? Thanks for you reply.

    Okay so I have a new question. We can add new product if it is not available and it will save at the product sheets, I want to ask, how do I do that to vendor/customer. The data I've put will be save automatically like for the products.

    This stuff is incredible. I didn't even know Excel had that many capabilities. That you could technically write a program within the program!
    I've got an Indie Publishing biz I'm planning on starting up, and this is really, really going to help a lot because I have to do it on the lowest budget possible, and I'm going to be offering art and writer assets alongside the books I publish. I'll need to have a good inventory system that's customized.

    Hi Randy, in the VBA of the inventory part 2 that is, sheet 1(Transactions), 6 lines after 'On change of Existing Product not on product load, {Sheet2.Range("H" & ProdRow).Value ="=SUMIFS ....... "Purchase"}
    I can't see the rest of the code after "Purhase" and VBA keeps yelling when i try to save it.
    Love the videos by the way, hope i'll oneday get to your level also I wish i could afford your books(cedis to dollars is quite a huge gap) but i'll try and get a paypal account(It's not easy when your're below 18 and in Ghana) and raise some dollars to purchase some of them. Thank you.
