Or the person had other games with that finder, just like I had, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Firered including both Gamecube Games Colosseum and XD:Gale of darkness. Sounds more likely to me. Also still have some of the old Mons from my cousin, who also was trading with me especially in the first 3 generations. But to me it more looks like the person had different pokemon games. I can't decide yet, if the Keily one is Emerald or FR/LG.
@@Aenir1992 maybe but there's also people like me that always named their character Jesse or Jess, so I don't think its completely unlikely but who knows, I'm with everyone else just cause it's more wholesome
Pretty clean save file all in all, nice find. You did forget one thing though, the Hall of Fame data on the PC. I always like to see what teams people used when defeating the E4
at some point, she played for the last time without even imagining it would be the last. she selected each pokemon, threw the last pokeball, and had no idea about it.
Man it's so odd to see this comment, I had a talk the other day regarding parents & kids and said that it must be kind of bittersweet since a parent will typically never know or document when the very last moment that they carry their child on their shoulders occurs 😭
Videos like this always make me want to see what it'd be like for the original people to get their games back. Seeing all of their old pokemon and remembering their childhoods...
I love how right when you're talking about how every Pokemon has a story behind it you went past an Absol caught in a master ball by Sarah which tells a whole story by itself. Which is especially interesting because they didn't catch the Groudon
I did something similar to that, I caught a Relicanth in a master ball. For me, the reason was it was a semi-rare pokemon and although I came in with a decent number of other pokeballs, eventually they all failed and I only had the master ball. I usually preferred to catch my legendaries in non-master balls for the excitement of actually battling them, so I decided to use my masterball here.
Every save has a story behind it. This video made me feel nostalgic and also a bit sad when I started to think of the days of me playing Pokémon Ruby with my friends when I was around 8-10 years old. Spending Summer nights staying up late trading Pokémon to help complete the Pokedex, linking with Pokémon Colosseum on the Gamecube to get Johto region Pokémon, going to the Pokémon Center in NYC to get the Mystery Gift event legendaries. Memories of better times, long since gone by. You never know you’re living through the “good old days” until they’re long gone and there’s no way back
Those PCNY Pokémon are super rare if you have any left! I feel like I missed out by playing the games after all the events and the major hype was over, so ultimately you should be glad you got to experience it. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened :)
@@primalswampert1050 I indeed do still have the event Ho-Oh, Lugia and Deoxys. They're in my Pokemon Home after moving them all the way up from Gen 3. They're probably the rarest Pokemon I have!
It actually feels really sad that this person just dropped the game when they clearly still had things they wanted to do with it (as can be seen by the levelling up box).
It's awesome seeing a legit old school save file. Reminds me a lot if how I played with my friends: trading to complete the pokedex, getting as many national dex mons as we could, making pkblocks to get master rank... I'm also looking forward to the battle pyramid shiny hunt!

I'm glad that I still have Pokemon Ruby, Emerald, and FireRed. I really want to get the Pokemon GameCube games, but they cost an arm and a leg nowadays.
What I did was get a homebrewed Gamecube with a Gameboy Player. That way I can run any custom software on it, including any game ROM, while still being able to play my legit GBA games with it. The homebrew kit I bought was actually only $70, but it did require an older model of Gamecube.
randomly saw ths ehsiny swampert vid in my reccomended vids. it reminded me of the old shiny hunting vids from like 10 years ago. liked the high quality nostalgic vibes. found my way to this video and am likinging it. hope to see more.
This reminds me of my Emerald version growing up. Had over 300 hours on it, got my first level 100 Pokémon (Umbreon, which made it permanently my favorite Pokémon), went to multiple events in Portland to get Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, and Jirachi. I was emotionally connected to many of those mons and still remember them to this day. Played with a group of friends at school at made trades, had all their secret bases, battles all the time. It was awesome. Then one day it went missing, suspiciously around when my older brother and his friends went on a road trip. He gave it back to me a week later with a brand new save file with less than an hour played! Man I was so happy!!!! Almost 18 years later and that’s still the only thing I’ve never been able to forgive him for lol
The stars around the Pokemon in the Contest UI is the number of poke blocks the pokemon hast eaten. If the circle is full the pokemon will refuse to eat more. :3

I remember I put in 30 hrs just trying to find the tile where feebas was, I found it. Caught like 25 of them in the same tile and then had to blend gold pokeblocks for days until I got Milotic and then my nephew saved over my file while I was at school. 💀
everytime i see these videos i think, how the original person could sell something like this? i feel things like these are priceless, you are basically selling your childhood, all the memories of when you were just a kid playing pokemon; i don't know i found it weird.
This is so awesome. I got a copy of emerald a while ago with the intention of completing the dex and doing the battle frontier from scratch. When I had a look at the save file on there they owned 337 pokemon in the national dex it was insane. If i knew what i knew now i'd have saved the .sav file but unfortunately i had to wipe it. Still really cool to spend a few hours looking round their world!!
Most likely just someone trading with themselves. When I was playing this game in middle school, I used to go to a TCG league at a comic shop and the gym leader there traded records with me and I got like 20 peoples secret bases from him, including bases that were designed specifically for EV training with 6 low level mons that all gave 2-3 of the same EV. So much fun.
This is really cool, most of the gen 3 games had everything clearly traded / transferred up to gen 4 when I got them. I sold my first copy of Emerald (huge mistake) when I was 16 and I know it had a completed save with a lot of my pokémon from my childhood on it. Hopefully the person I sold it to on ebay had fun with it and didn’t just resell it :P
Wow, your story of playing pokemon is so much like mine. I also only leveled up my starter first time playing sapphire, played when black and white came out and had no friends who played aswell. When I played later games and watched people on the internet I realised how many cool pokemon I missed out on when I first played.
This was something I'd never thought I'd be interested in, this is amazing. I found you recently through the swampert video, I recently started playing my old copy of emerald, can't wait to do some craziness! Thanks for the video man!
Believe it or not. I think that might be the copy of Ruby my sis had. It got lost a while ago so I hope that's it. That way it would live on. Great vid by the way. Keep up the good work.

Also, sometimes the block's color is not one of the beauty contest catagories' colors, meaning it works on more than 1 category) Edit: literally forgot the letter 'c' everytime I wrote "Block"

exploring old saves is always so cool, it always makes you wonder what they were like back when they were playing, what all they did, why they decided to sell the game without transferring pokemon
Growing up I only knew 1 girl who played Pokémon. She had some good Pokémon who wouldn’t trade them. I’m sure she put in over 1,000+ on all the gba games.
Imagine if you could contact sarah/keily and show them this video. Bet they would have been amazed seeing their 10yr old pokemons again. And maybe ''Barbara'' was just Sarah, re-named (?). My guess is she had Ruby AND Firered/Leafgreen and simply played through the game to trade them to ruby, since ruby (in my opinion) was the better game. I doubt even the best friend would trade endgame pokemons like Aerodactyl to ruby and then start over. PS: The Stars on the contest Pokemon means they have eaten max Pokeblocks and cant level up anymore in any stat. Trying to give your pokemon more would prompt the message ''Its full'' or ''not hungry''

I recently bought a copy of Omega Ruby off a guy on Facebook marketplace, I checked out his save file before starting my own game, he only had 10 total Pokémon, but to my pleasant surprise he had a shiny Tentacruel that went right into my Pokémon Bank :D
All of the Pokémon that said “obtained in a trade” mean that they were from a= an in-game trade, b= from FRLG or c= from Colloseum and XD, I bet the Meganium (and others) were from Colloseum.
Insanely nostalgic, Sarah just like many of us spent hundreds of hours playing Pokémon games and one day just never went back too it. Crazy to think about how it's really a metaphor for stages of life things end in the blink of an eye. I saw someone else mentioned it but got a laugh out of her having caught the absol with a master ball. Despite some interesting areas of the save I felt she actually seemed to have not accomplished really a ton for over 330 hours of playing. Largely low level Pokémon under lvl 50 for the most part, nothing super crazy. Did not catch the Regis's, no roamers caught. I'm somewhat curious what she actually was doing because I don't see 300+ hours worth of stuff done in that save file maybe that's just me. Most of her better Pokémon seem to have been traded too her. Would wonder what else she worked so hard on. Keep up the great content!
You can get articuno, moltres, zapdos, entei, raikou, suicune, and shadow lugia in XD Gake of Darkness. Of course they all need to be purified first before being traded from GameCube to Gameboy advance 3rd gen with the GameCube link cable and a few other odd stuffs completed end game. Yes I still have my GameCube and XD so if I wanted I could do another playthrough for more of these legendary but they were difficult to obtain back then and are equally difficult to transfer from anything beyond 3rd gen.
I remember when I was little and I had a shiny charmander. I had know idea that it was rare or hard to get one. I got tricked by my older cousin into trading it to him for a regular one.
So when I starting figuring out about shinies I caught my first shiny a Green stantler in Soulsilver. I still have her she was a random encounter and because she was green I named her clover. She made it to level 100. I started teaching my cousin about shinies whom is a few years younger than me. He was doing a Firered playthrough and when he got to choose between hitmonlee and hitmonchan he noticed the green Hitmonlee. Grabbed it and sure enough it was shiny, he thanked me later by giving it to my emerald where I duplicated it with the glitch and gave it back to him. Later that year I caught a shiny zigzagoon and gave him a duplicate. As a return favor of course.
i used to do the pokemon contests and if i remember right the sparkles tell you how many blocks they ate/can eat, if it goes all the way around and flashes then they cant get anymore blocks
I tried to organize my boxes that way in Gen 4 when I played it many years back, but it was a terrible way of doing things because of just how many dual-type Pokemon there are. It's better to organize your spares by Pokedex number. Regional or National, whichever you prefer. And then separating your favorites into special boxes.
I lost my Pokémon ruby cartridge as a kid and I just have to say… I hope you’re taking care of my precious level 98 Groudon :( highest Pokémon I ever trained
Man it reminds me of my Firered save file....til my little brother decided that it would be a WONDERFUL idea to erase the file and SAVE it.... I'm still upset to this day, cause that part of my childhood died that day
I don't know if anyone said it or if you figured it out already but the number beside the pokeblock is the level of the pokeblock, not the quantity. So there are only QTY: 3 pokeblocks in the case.
Cool video! I'm not sure you're the first one to catch a battle tower shiny though. I got recommended a video from "LettuceLeaf0_0" whom caught a Milotic from the tower a year ago
I caught my swampert a few months prior to his dodrio (which he got before his milotic but didn’t upload), I used his footage in my guide video on the method though :)
Wow, I also bought a Ruby off ebay recently. It hasn't arrived yet and I have no idea what savefile is on there, but I've always hoped with buying old games that I'd get a savefile like this that was actually well used. So far the best savefile I got was someone who just beat the 2nd gym :/
My copy of Ruby arrived today, and although it isn't as amazing as yours (Which, tbh, whose is?) it did have some cool stuff in it. The trainer, ADAM, was about to catch the last regi. The pokemon he caught through this playthrough weren't terribly special, however he had a handful of lv 100s traded to him. Blaziken, Swampert, Groudon, Tropius, Gyarados, Raichu. Most of them also had their trainer as ADAM, but different ids to the current save. Seems he tried to preserve his old pokemon before wiping his previous Ruby save. But at least one of them had a different trainer id, so seems he traded with another person too. Also Latios is uncaught too, woot!
@@tb8654 Oh of course! I wouldn't delete these pokemon, I'm definitely transferring all the important pokemon to my other games. Although I will need to wipe the actual savefile itself since I want to do the Latios glitch multiple times.
Based on the pokemon available in colosseum and XD i think keily is what they named their OT on the gamecube and possibly even in fr/lg but i couldnt tell without seeing more of the summary with movesets
wait actually they all have the same trainer ID number 15801 so even though some are only found in XD and Colosseum they have the same ID number as the kanto starters which don't appear in them
sarah, keily, and barbara must have been the tightest trio of friends back in the day... wonder if they still keep in touch 🤔
Or the person had other games with that finder, just like I had, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Firered including both Gamecube Games Colosseum and XD:Gale of darkness. Sounds more likely to me. I was LITERALLY on eBay YESTERDAY looking for authentic Pokemon Ruby games to buy before finding this video, lmao
It’s crazy how time flies when you play Pokémon. Pretty positive it was 338 hour on the game which is around 14 days.
Excited to see the streams :)
Also your pokemon content is so goated and this games so old and cool u should do a nuzlocke or some kinda challenge run if u find them fun
The first thing I like to check when I acquire a second hand game is the hall of fame. Would've been nice to see here.
I remember when I was little and I had a shiny charmander. I had know idea that it was rare or hard to get one. I got tricked by my older cousin into trading it to him for a regular one.
Your older cousin was not one of the homies. Smh
@@christianedwards9025 not I my cousin was a piece of shit
@@christianedwards9025 although I don’t personally believe in using glitched, I can still appreciate how wholesome this is.
i used to do the pokemon contests and if i remember right the sparkles tell you how many blocks they ate/can eat, if it goes all the way around and flashes then they cant get anymore blocks
Pokemon Ruby is my first Pokemon version i played
Then nxt was Emerald Sapphire Green and Red , damn 10 yrs ago is just so solid
Cool video bro, drew me on outta nowhere lol✌✌✌
Doesn't want to mess up the box organization of the OG owner... proceeds to drop a trapinch in with the "rock" types.
if im not mistaken, the absol in the ghost dark box was caught in a master ball.
16:00 master ball absol rip
Keep the content coming !!!
@@primalswampert1050 Then the title is all yours sir
Dang, good timing! 3 min ago upload
4 minutes ago for me
Should do more of these! Never know what you might find.
You're absolutely legendary, especially for that Swampert.
@@Protofall bruh you should keep it going and not delete that save file without transferring over those Pokemon 😭
@@tb8654 Oh of course! I wouldn't delete these pokemon, I'm definitely transferring all the important pokemon to my other games. Although I will need to wipe the actual savefile itself since I want to do the Latios glitch multiple times.
I bought a japanese Fire Red on eBay around May, but it NEVER came. No tracking number, either.
@@excalibur493I'd start a claim with ebay. They're very pro buyer so you should have luck with them.
I Love these videos I need to buy a Ruby or sapphire but I'd hate to get ripped off
Oh my God she sorts her boxes the same way I do even down to Grass and bug being the first boxes
u put poor little trapinch in rock
I am currently replying emerald and am loving it 🙂
Nice video and Nice username mate!
Keily must’ve been grinding on leafgreen. Got a bunch of the cool johto mons from the sevii islands.
This is nostalgic
Based on the pokemon available in colosseum and XD i think keily is what they named their OT on the gamecube and possibly even in fr/lg but i couldnt tell without seeing more of the summary with movesets
wait actually they all have the same trainer ID number 15801 so even though some are only found in XD and Colosseum they have the same ID number as the kanto starters which don't appear in them
