For me they’re the most powerful vocal group along with exo in the 3rd gen ( although i am an army and bts was the first group i stanned i can say that btob has such powerful members vocal wise ) and their rappers are solid aswell!
Their songs are very diverse can change from r&b to ballad to pop so there’s a song for everyone. I particularly like the poppy-ballads like Its Okay, Remember that, Only One For Me and especially Missing You. Their song has great meanings behind it and some of the members release their own music and solo albums. as of now their maknae, Yook Sungjae is preparing to release his album.
They are the friendliest group and are literally friends with every group, gg or bg. Fun Fact they often do activities that involve other artists and idols, Yook Sungjae actually went on the show “We Got Married” with Joy!
They’re known for their crackhead personality, not caring about their image as long as they make people laugh.

Saying SOOL-gi (gi like karate gi or gui-tar) and SOONGwan should be a plenty acceptable approximation for English-speakers. At that point it's just an accent thing and not really an error, lol.
Fun fact: Korea as has 으 (eu) and 우 (u) and while 으 (eu) is pronounced exactly like the standard Japanese う (u), they still pronounce most う (u) sounds as 우 ("ooh"/Spanish u) even though they have the correct vowel in 으 (eu).
Edit: Listening to read Park Sooyoung, you gotta make the "oo" vowel snappier. Whoever thought "oo" was an all right transliteration was probably just approximating the vowel sounds withought accounting for stresses, accents, pitch, length, whatever. Like, the word "fool" is a long one, but the word "good" is short, I guess.

I adore Red Velvet, it's one of the only three groups I stan. Their talent is off the hook and they have very beautiful personalities. Now saying that... for vocals, if it's something that caughts your attention I would suggest you also give Mamamoo a chance. If you like TWICE and RED VELVET... chances are you will also fall hard for Mamamoo.

Yo Aaron I think you should watch 아는형님 / Knowing Bros / Men On A Mission (Netflix title) if you don’t already, Red Velvet and Twice both have like two episodes on there; they’re each like an hour and a half long so you can get a pretty good sense of their personalities imo. A few episodes aren’t on Netflix but you can find the whole episodes on TH-cam too.
