Labour *false* promise that they will *recognise* a Palestinian 🇵🇸 state. Don’t believe a word.
They will insert weasel words into their promise - I suspect on the same lines that the US has, namely that they will recognise a state negotiated between the two parties, i.e. When Israel says so.

The people that were interviewed were well informed, knowledgeable and very competent speakers. If they are any indication of the mood of the people with regard to Israel's handling of Palestine, then the Tories and Labour parties are in for a hiding.

Read some history, the Palestinians have never ever been free, you can go back 1000 years if you want. Always a poor province, invaded and occupied by some a-hole empire or other. Free is what *you* think they want, it's not what they want, they don't have a collective memory of it. Read what Arab leaders promise their followers, you won't find the word "free" mentioned often, if at all. The main promise is justice. And justice means, among other things, revenge. You can give freedom, democracy, a State and civil rights to them, they'll just throw it all away and replace it with a theocracy or a dictatorship, or worse. Look around at the other States around Palestine.

@Jose-hs4vk Indeed, if you look at the bio of Hamas heads, they are all children of Camps, meaning "displaced Palestinians." and the orphans of today will be in 10 years the leaders of a new group with another name. So Israel is not eliminating Hamas, but creating another Group and I for one will not condemn the new Group if they seek revenge. Trauma is not privy to Western's children.

As a member of GMB I voted for John Smith to be Labour leader and for me the Labour party died with him.
He would have been a good Prime minister I always felt. I would never vote Labour again after what Blair did. If Starmer is elected Blair will be in the background pulling strings.

The issue in all the big countries is that 'Labour' represents a slightly toned-down version of the right; even in the US Biden's nowhere near a 'Socialist' despite the fact the party he represents is meant to be left-leaning. The illusion of 'democracy' is starting to fall apart though, which is at least good because people realise that they're all the same and probably funded by the same groups just under different names

As a current Labour Member, I have told my local CLP, that I will not be voting in the General Election, as they no longer a Political Party of the people, I know that seems hypocritical, but I left when Blair became leader and came back when JC was leader, but I have said I will remain as a member, to fight the Starmer Dictatorship until the like of him and the rest of his cronies are removed from the labour Party.
