When I was having problems with my milk production because of stress, one of the things my lactation nurse recommended was Gatorade. I try to drink one once a day and so far I haven’t had any problems. After a few days of trying several things to get my milk supply up I was able to increase it. 🙏🏻

I have four boys (ages 6,5 & twin 4 year olds) and will be welcoming our baby girl in April 2020. I was never able to successfully breast feed any of them for longer than 3 months but this time around, I am SO determined. I’m hoping with the 4 year age gap and my other four being more independent, I can successfully BF for her first year of life. Thank you SO much for all your insight, tips, and tricks!! You are an incredible inspiration for all breast feeding Mamas out there!❤️
This video was very helpful! Can’t wait to try these methods this time around.. due in July with my second baby girl and hoping to produce more than the 2-3 oz on each side that I would get previously!
I had a baby 7w premature and have been trying to teach him how to breastfeed, but he needed to learn to eat out of the bottle to be discharged so that was the focus. I had to exclusively pump through that time and still to this day - he’s 11 weeks old now. I never knew about this facet of motherhood before and I’m 40 and it is the most difficult part of being a mom. All I talk and complain about is pumping. He hasn’t had to be supplemented and I’m keeping up with him but I can only freeze about 6oz a day. I would like to have a bit more of a supply...I have a Spectra and just got the Willow on a Black Friday deal. Just tried it out today but I’m hoping it’ll help. 4 hours stuck on the couch a day is so difficult. Plus practicing breastfeeding 2-3x a day then pumping and then feeding out of a bottle is a LONG process.
These videos help me so much, from good advice about pumps and pumping, to potty training my little guy who doesn’t talk yet 😬 I have a 5 year old, I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old that I am breast feeding and pumping for. Linda Martin how’s your journey going now? I was never able to build my supply because I got my tubes tied 24 hours after giving birth and there were complications from surgery and I was away from my baby on another floor recovering. They brought a pump into my recovery room but I was sooo weak that I couldn’t lift my head. at home I was using a walker to help me walk and had family help, giving her formula but I never stopped breastfeeding less than twice a day. now she’s 4 weeks and I’m feeling better and I’m building my supply. This video is encouraging! I wish you nothing but success!

My baby wasnt able to latch either due to some problems with me and the hospital would not help me. And i was devistated. I wanted to give him milk. I pumped and gave him colostrum but it wasnt enough :( and he has problems with formula. It really hurts as a parent when you can not feed your child as nature intended. Ha tears in my eyes as i write this. 😢
Same here. We had a same problem with latching and pediatrician over there said that don't give him bottle. Try to latch, try to latch. We was trying hard but nothing was working.when he was second or third day old he was crying almost 5-6 hrs out of hunger and I was crying too. I can't forget those days and can't forgive myself as a mother. He's 3 month old now and he started latching but now my milk supply is low. So still I am mixed feeding him. I hope a day will come when I could do exclusively breast feed him.
Sorry about that. I know as a mom how it can be so devastating. Mine is 9 months on formula i have milk but not enough for him. I pray we both can one day only breastfeed.
You seem lovely thanks for the tips ! I just want everyone to know studies and tests have shown brewers yeast or nutritional yeasts do not help yeast candida grow in the body, It help sugar levels and can improve glucose tolerance. ❤
I am not an exclusive pumper, however, my baby did not latch very well at first. Her latch slowly got better over 8 weeks and now is a pro. I exclusively breastfed the last month of maternity leave and only pumped once a day to build a supply. I had to pump/ refeed the first month and the second month had to pump to maintain supply up for her but she did not require much supplementation. I was pumping at least 6-8 x/ day along with breastfeeding and slowly got down to 4-5x/ day and then 1x/ day, again while exclusive breastfeeding. I have now returned to work and having to work out pumping at work, along with breastfeeding before and after work and sometimes during the night either breastfeeding or pumping to maintain supply. I am currently pumping 20-22oz on days I work but again she is also being breastfeed. On days, that I am not working I am adding in pumping sessions to maintain supply as most people have a decline in supply once they return to work, also to have enough in hand for my husband to feed her at work. She eats 16-20oz while I am at work. I work in a busy cardiac ICU unit and unfortunately recently was so busy that I did not pump for 6 hrs ended up with a huge baseball sized clogged duct. I did so much massage/ hot showers/ compress with no evail. The baby is the best clog buster! She was tongue tied, lip tied, buccal tied and SGA, hence why she did not latch at first. We had the ties fixed and she latches perfectly now. I have ordered the Willow so I can pump at work easier on days I am very busy and can't get coverage to go to the lactation room. I am fortunate though to have access to a hospital grade pump at work and plan to still use the ameda hospital grade in addition to the Willow. I ordered the 24mm based on the website sizing guide using a dime or nickel. Although, I have been pumping with a 27 and 28 phalanges with the ameda hospital grade and Spectra. More comfortable for me but I think I might need to pump at a higher suction as it might be too big now. I was really swollen in the beginning, so I am learning your size can change overtime. I am going to try pumping with the 24/ 25mm to see if it is more effective as I am not as swollen as I was. At home, I have two pumps, the spectra and Medela. I have used mostly the Spectra but I think I am going to experiment with the Medela after watching the video. Here is to hoping the Willow helps me with pumping at work and maintaining supply. Most nurses I have talked to had to stop breastfeeding/ pumping at 6 months as they could not get coverage enough during their shift and their supply dropped.
How long did it take for your baby to breastfeed again? Mine had a tongue, lip and cheek tie which were released at one month, now she's 3 months still not breastfeeding despite all efforts and my supply is only 3oz a day after pumping
I love the tips in this video, I am trying to pump diligently for my daughter in the nicu. I found it interesting about switching up your pumps and then how the hand pump increased you milk supply, and good to know the vitamins to keep up on
Changing up pumps I’ve heard you mention a few times and I think that makes total sense. This is why I hope so bad i can get a wearable this baby. I do have a manual, somewhere lol I think it was a lantosh and I’m not sure I had very good luck with it, but I’ll try it again for sure!
My baby is 2 months old and I make about 34oz a day. I am always pumping every 3 hours and I just got over mastitis. I thought I wasn’t making enough milk but i am making enough to feed him and put some away. I do eat oatmeal 2-3 times a week. I switch between my lansioh electric pump, lansioh hand pump, and ameda electric pump. I use it as a single pump while I have a haakaa on the other boob
Been making like a bottle and half an day 😅😅 .So proceeding to write down and really will get a second pump to help with the process wish I knew all of this the first go around .
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I am exclusively pumping, and trying to increase my supply for my son! Your tips are amazing and I will be trying them to help as I continue my journey! 😍
Omg I needed this video sooooo bad. My first child I ran out of milk after 2 months. My second child I ran out after 3 months. I felt so bad, frustrated, and defeated. But it goes back to not knowing any better. I have gotten sooo much advice from other moms and you are up there with top youtube moms giving me advice on this topic. Now pregnant with our 3rd child I feel so prepared, happy, and excited to start and have a breast milk supply. Thank you sooo for the advice.
I've only ever pumped 2 oz from each side with my boys. But i had a crummy pump. This is amazing the human body is so beautiful. My oldest son was tounge tied and was missed so i couldn't nurse him i tried pumping with the large blue beast from WIC but that monster tore me to pieces. Thank you for being so honest and helpful. I so understand a brutal journey. I have heart failure now from my last baby and i have sooo many fears about literally EVERYTHING this time. What if my heart gives out, what if im rushed away and can't be with her to nurse right away or pump.
My hospital experience with breast feeding was awful. I begged for a nipple shield, I begged for a pump. I ended up formula feeding in the hospital. I didn't get to pump until day 4 after he was born. Then when I got home I ended up getting an infection where I had stitches. So it's the 5th day and I'm making maybe an oz usually less a session. 😐
I only pump 2oz each session.. That’s nothing compared to this. I just started letting her latch but she does drink formula as well.. idk how to increase my supply. I was exclusively pumping but it’s so time consuming..
This is completely normal. A typical session is .5 to 2 ounces PER SESSION, not per side. From lactation consultants, anything over 4 oz per session is considered an oversupply. I am struggling to feel like I pump enough when all these videos show 4+ oz per session or per side AND only pumping a couple times a day. My baby takes about 5 to 15 ounces while at day care. I pump 8 to 16 ounces per day while work. I try to get in a couple extra at home and at night to keep building a stash but try not to feel discouraged!!
Because of you and your code I got Willow last week. Extra chargers and containers, flextubes all of it. Everything was under $800 with it so thank you. I returned back to work and can't take long enough breaks to pump so hands-free is needed. Now to get my body to produce more milk!
Hi! I love your videos. Can you please tell me if I can still relactate with my situation? I was an over supplier with 40-45oz in a 24hr period, from my baby’s 2nd month till her 5th. My milk started to decrease on her 6th month because I got sick and I was adjusting with my work schedule. It decreased up 20-24oz a day. Now, I’ve been trying to pump every 2 hours to regain my supply and now she’s on her 8th month. And still with the same output. Is there still a chance of increasing or should I just accept it? Thanks!
I would love to get just 20 oz a day. I am struggling to get my baby to nurse, he has a bottle preference after having to supplement with formula. Such a journey. 😊 right now I am only making about 1 oz total from both breasts at each pumping every 2 hrs. Anything is better then nothing I’m telling myself at that point. It’s an emotional battle.
Wow I could have used this when I was pumping for my twins! Towards the end I had a very hard time keeping a supply stocked! I definitely agree that oatmeal was one of my biggest helps, the all natural rolled oats with flax and brown sugar was my go to! I never heard about switching up the pump, I only used my spectra, maybe a different pump would have helped a lot. I’m glad you told what you do with your hand pump, I hated using it, but I will definitely try your method with holding it down until the milk stops. Great tips!
thank you so much for this! just found it and I'm hoping these tips will help. My baby is currently 7 weeks and I'm exclusively pumping and under producing. How long should I be pumping for with each session. I've been doing 20-25mins. Should I be doing more or less time? Thank you so much for your videos
Props to you for exclusively pumping! I had to for only 3 days because my little had trouble latching at first but thank god he got the hang of it, and it was the most stressful thing ever. Id be trying to hold hin and pump at the same time, stressing out about finding time to punp so he could eat. I was so close to breaking down.
I don't eat meat, so I will have to up my veggie/nuts for protein? I don't eat tofu, mushrooms. I can't have dairy but maybe a tablespoon of cheese. No milk at all, I eat coconut milk yogurt dairy free.
I was an oversupplier with my first with just the tip of pump every 2-3 hours alone. But I was an EP so I really want to BF this time. Do you have any videos on how to have an oversupply (so i can donate again) AND nurse on demand without causing milk imbalances with the baby? That would be so helpful!
I am currently 4 months pregnant this will be my 6 baby . I got pregnant With a tubal ligation. I never breastfed cause i wasnt informed well . And i just gave up the first few days saw collastrum milk coming out tought that wwas it started thinking i dont produce milk for my baby so just gave up. And i so was so young and had no idea . Now i want to breast feed and i am reading and watching anything that talks about breastfeeding im so nervous sbout doing this. cause i want to make my milk come in . But i wont produce none. Some people say dont pump right away others say yes. My baby didnt want to latch all the time i dont know if its because i have a flat nipples. Thanks for the information. Ill keep in mind.
I make 20 ounces a day and really want to increase my milk supply so I can save some in my freezer. Oatmeal didn't work for me. I'm having fenugreek supplements and seen little increase. But I will definitely try changing up the pumps
Can you please do a video on manual pumps? I tried 2 different manual pumps with my 1st baby and didn’t have a good experience nor was able to effectively empty.
My baby is two months old and I can barely make 7 to 8 oz a day. But I also breastfeed him. Si he eats at any time he wants and when I want to pump u can because he might want to eat at the same time I should be pumping so it’s hard to pump sometimes. I pump maybe 3 to 4 times a day an use a hakaa when I’m nursing him and only get about one oz with the hawkaa. I wish I could get like you. The thing is u need my milk to make it 24 cal since he was a premature baby he needs more cal so have to pump and he need to eat about 2 oz if it every 3 hrs so it’s hard for me.
My baby don’t latch on my beast , so I pump. But my milk supply is low, what can I do to get more milk. She stop breastfeeding in two weeks from the hospital.
Was your pump covered by insurance or was there one similar maybe? I am trying to fin a pump that I actually like or that will do a better job at drawing the milk out as I don’t react to pumps very well:/ but the pump listed is pretty pricey atleast for me. Any tips?
The medala double pump is usually covered by insurance but that depends on your insurance......I got mine from the hospital after I gave birth to my 3rd son and it was covered by my insurance. Theres websites that will tell you what pumps your insurance covers.
How much of the electrolyte do you drink in a day ? Do you just have one glass of electrolyte water and then normal water the rest of the day or do you add the electrolyte powder to the whole gallon of water ?
The recommendation is on the ultima box . So if you want it really sweet, put in only one glass of water and if you want a small hint of taste, put in a gallon .
My baby is almost 2 months and I'm going to start breastfeeding now by just pumping. I tried when she was born but I barely had any milk she would get frustrated and cry so I stopped. I tried to pump for a week or two and only got 2 oz everyday after pumping 5-6 times a day it sucked!! Any other advice?
Thank you for the video. You are an inspiration for me. I have a question and I heartily request you to reply to my comment. I am a mother of a 2 months old baby. As this is my first child, I was not aware of right breastfeeding technique and on top of it my nipples are too large for my baby to latch. Therefore, I lost my milk supply almost completely, I can oly make around 50 ml of milk in a day. Which is very less. I have been expressing milk manually without any pump and I don't see any change in my supply. I got to know about exclusive pumping from your video. I didn't make milk for 2 days after my delivery and lost my milk supply on the 13th day. My baby is unable to take formula. So, have to give him tonned milk. I really want to meet his feeding demands completely and get back my supply. I just want to know, if I start to pump now, will I be able to increase my supply? Also, I can't afford electric pump, is it ok to use manual pump? And last as my nipples are a little big, I am not sure that it will rightly fit in the pump. Please help.
Girl , I have a few videos on my channel that can help . Definitely scroll through my videos . Here’s one on increasing milk supply th-cam.com/video/GoQ-Cv-f1G8/w-d-xo.html
If I breast feed and pump would I need another pump or does the baby serve the function of changing the routine? He is 14 days old and I’ve been supplementing a little bit too some days I just can get enough to feed him!
Do i need to feed my baby then pump or pump then feed so i can over load Cuz my baby is 12 days old she drinks every 2 hours how can i save and increase if i keep pumping 60ml every time i pump and she drinks it all i dont breastfeeding directly from my breast cuz my baby have issues with sucking any tip please
I would feed baby first then pump , you want a full breast for baby so baby doesn’t get frustrated and tired . Then baby will be under fed from trying so hard
I recently bought the elvie pump. Before using it i was getting 4 to 5 ounces per pumping with my medela. I have been using the elvie and medela both for past week and half and my supplies has dropped and its becoming painful to pump. I think I am putting the elvie on properly I put on in the mirror to get correct alignment. I have ordered the electrolyte powder you suggested and drink lots of water. Is there anything else I could try to help increase my supply?
if the Elvie doesn't work , you need to make sure you go and pump with your medela, do not miss a pump. Try the Haaka if you breastfeed on the other side.
Hello. I feel you. I am a first time mom and I was so traumatized by birth I didn’t even try to make my baby latch right away. I didn’t know better. Now he cries when I put him on breast. I am exclusively pumping now. I am debating to get spectra S1 vs willow? Which one would you suggest. I have been using the evenflo electric pump and that sucks. Please guide if the willow is worth it? All I see is spectra reviews and not willow. It would be nice not to be stuck to a machine and get my life back. My baby cries all night because formula makes him bloated.
I have a Spectra S2 and an Elvie (similar to Willow I think) and was renting a Medela Symphony until my Spectra arrived this week. In my experience the cableless pumps just aren't as powerful and I yield far less milk or have to pump for longer. I use the Elvie outside my home, in the middle of the night and if my baby just won't let me use the other pump. I know it's not ideal to buy both but I find I need both.

I found it interesting about switching up your pumps and then how the hand pump increased you milk supply, and good to know the vitamins to keep up on
The intro was so fun!! Loved it 😆
Awwww thank you so much gurl ! That means a lot to me :)
Brewers yeast is my favorite for when I am running low.. electrolytes coconut water was helpful for me
Loved this video. It helped by giving me different ideas. I hadn't heard of switching up pumps. Cant wait to try!
Changing up pumps I’ve heard you mention a few times and I think that makes total sense. This is why I hope so bad i can get a wearable this baby. I do have a manual, somewhere lol I think it was a lantosh and I’m not sure I had very good luck with it, but I’ll try it again for sure!
More power to you !
I had NOOOO idea about the Gatorade 😬 thank you! I'm trying that powder!
You are a hero, i cant do it
Right she is my hero too!
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I am exclusively pumping, and trying to increase my supply for my son! Your tips are amazing and I will be trying them to help as I continue my journey! 😍
Awesome girl ! Please let me know how they work out for you
Omg I needed this video sooooo bad.
I do oatmeal with peanutbutter in the morning that help me out alot
Hi! When did you stop nursing? And at what week did you start introducing the willow pump? Love all your videos!
If you mean nursing as in putting baby to breast, it was close to 5 weeks old . And I introduced the willow around 7-8 weeks in . Thank you :)
Check out the link in the description box of this video
Hahaha the presentation got me rolling 😂😂 so funny
Talk about an epic intro!
I hope everything went ok with you.. do let us know..
Omg I’m so sorry ! Hospitals suck !
hang in there girl. all of the hardship is gonna switch to a tremendous parenting phase.
That’s horrible!
Love your videos very informative 😍
Lol lol lol love love love the intro, go mommy shark.
I get only 8 to 10 oz per day 😔
Need more for my newborn, he's losing weight .. pls suggest something, tips or anything to increase my supply
Im do thankful for this video!! I am saving it so I can easily refer back to it❤️
What dramatic entrance music! 😂😁👍👍 I love it. Lol

Because of you and your code I got Willow last week. Extra chargers and containers, flextubes all of it. Everything was under $800 with it so thank you. I returned back to work and can't take long enough breaks to pump so hands-free is needed.
Now to get my body to produce more milk!
@@chunhei8967 this is beautiful girl !! I’m so happy it helps !! Have a great breastfeeding journey
Make your own lactation cookies !! Dark dark no sugar chocolate!! Cranberries !!!
Thanks!
U tried any lactation tea
Super cool intro!!! New subbie
Did your supply increase? I'm literally going through the same thing
Great tips!
Needed this! I forsure will do this to increase my supply
I hope it works for you girl !!
I love the intro 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sooo dramatic
How many servings of the electrolyte drink a day ?
Love the tips will put some into use asap
Love all your content on exclusive pumping!
thank you so much for this! just found it and I'm hoping these tips will help.
I feel your pain !!
Super useful video. I learned a lot. Thank you!
My medela manual pump actually helped me increase my supply because I would do what you would do
Yes!!!
I don't eat meat, so I will have to up my veggie/nuts for protein? I don't eat tofu, mushrooms. I can't have dairy but maybe a tablespoon of cheese. No milk at all, I eat coconut milk yogurt dairy free.
Me too! I do veggies, legumes, beyond beef, gardein, protein shakes, etc
Hi! You are so blessed with that milk supply! You worked hard for it though! Can you increase supply at 11 weeks postpartum?
Yes !! Not too late at all
Can I increase my milk supply at 11 months postpartum by pumping every 2 hour? My supply has suddenly dropped. 😢
If I freeze my milk. How many hours want to take give that chilled milk to baby?
I was an oversupplier with my first with just the tip of pump every 2-3 hours alone. But I was an EP so I really want to BF this time. Do you have any videos on how to have an oversupply (so i can donate again) AND nurse on demand without causing milk imbalances with the baby? That would be so helpful!
Also, you can ask for a pump at the hospital. They let me use one while I was there.
Thank you! Very helpful and inspiring!
Thanks for the support girl !
Can you share a pumping schedule with us and how many minutes you pump for on each session?
Yes !!!
I'm exclusively pumping with willow pump. I do it every 2 hours. I need tips as I want to fill the container but i get at most 2 oz out of a breast.
I make 20 ounces a day and really want to increase my milk supply so I can save some in my freezer. Oatmeal didn't work for me. I'm having fenugreek supplements and seen little increase. But I will definitely try changing up the pumps
Moringa worked for me better than fenugreek
Great video! Very informative
Thanks girl !!
When she said exclusively pumping. Does it mean the baby still breastfeed? Or you just pump and give a bottle of breastmilk?
Exclusively pumping means using a pump and then putting it in a bottle

Great video! Thanks so much👍👍👍👍
My baby don’t latch on my beast , so I pump. But my milk supply is low, what can I do to get more milk. She stop breastfeeding in two weeks from the hospital.
I’m so sorry 😐... I hope this helps you
Was your pump covered by insurance or was there one similar maybe? I am trying to fin a pump that I actually like or that will do a better job at drawing the milk out as I don’t react to pumps very well:/ but the pump listed is pretty pricey atleast for me. Any tips?
The medala double pump is usually covered by insurance but that depends on your insurance......I got mine from the hospital after I gave birth to my 3rd son and it was covered by my insurance. Theres websites that will tell you what pumps your insurance covers.
List all products, and where you get them, that would help.
Just added! Thanks for the input
Thank you for sharing ❤️
My baby is almost 2 months and I'm going to start breastfeeding now by just pumping. I tried when she was born but I barely had any milk she would get frustrated and cry so I stopped. I tried to pump for a week or two and only got 2 oz everyday after pumping 5-6 times a day it sucked!! Any other advice?
Pump for 15 mins every 2 hours until your supply builds
And here’s one on flange sizing th-cam.com/video/DKQVvg1t_1M/w-d-xo.html
There’s something called relactating, are you able to see a lactation consultant ? And finally , yes you can def use a manual pump
Do u only take a glass of water with the electrolytes in it per day or put it in your 1 gall a day?
Very informative video... thnx
Thank you!
Awesome video!
Hoping to use these tips!
If I breast feed and pump would I need another pump or does the baby serve the function of changing the routine? He is 14 days old and I’ve been supplementing a little bit too some days I just can get enough to feed him!
I cannot make the willow pump work. Barely anything comes out and that then spills. Any suggestions?
Did you set up a coaching call with willow ? They have free calls . It might be alignment ?
20 ounces a day? I only get 6-7 ounces in total per day 😕😕😕
Do i need to feed my baby then pump or pump then feed so i can over load
Cuz my baby is 12 days old she drinks every 2 hours how can i save and increase if i keep pumping 60ml every time i pump and she drinks it all i dont breastfeeding directly from my breast cuz my baby have issues with sucking any tip please
I would feed baby first then pump , you want a full breast for baby so baby doesn’t get frustrated and tired . Then baby will be under fed from trying so hard
This is exactly me my little one is 12 days and I can only pump 60ml maybe , but I need more milk 🥛
Don't it affect in long-term on health forcing body to take out more...
How long do you do the manual pump ?
Hello.
I know it's not ideal to buy both but I find I need both.
ciaramcn Thankyou I got the spectra and I am relieved. I can feel my breast again. The evenflo was horrible.
Where I could find the video about the weight loss I did not see it on your channel
Need i help not have enough milk lactations to my baby
