Hi Roderick, thanks mate. Yes lots of quality parts used and alot of $ but if you going to do it you may as well go all the way right. Nice westlander!!
Nice builds! Thanks for sharing.. did you buy the kits or had the files and have them cut.... link please to how I can't get the mini boat kit from please...
Nice video, looks like you have a lot of angle on your driveshaft?? Id suggest having another 3mm tell tale off up to beside the driver.I had a perfect sized stone wedge into the unit water exit hole.I noticed my tell tale stopped and had it sorted within 10mins>Could have been a blown engine
It's not alot of angle dropped it alot by cutting the sump down. I'll measure the angle at some stage. Do you know optimal angle? Also thanks for the tip on the tell tale I'll look at adding this.
Any Reason why you didn't go with a liquid to liquid inter cooler? Usually the water your running through is a lot colder then the air and can exchange the heat better?
A few questions if you don’t mind; 1. Why build a custom intake? 2. Is the turbo an add on? 3. What will the RPM range be 4. where does the water come from and where does it go for the exhaust. Thanks, quite the craftsman
Hi Shawn, Good questions.... 1) We built custom intakes because the original was large and bulky so would give us less room for passengers also the custom one will flow a lot better. 2) yes the turbo is add on the Suzuki M18a is normally a naturally asperated engine. 3) id say wot will be around 6200ish 4) water comes from the jet unit, through the sand trap and filter into the distribution tank with 3 outlets, one out lest goes trough the intercooler and from the intercooler into the dump pipe jacket then exits out the exhaust outlet, another feed goes to the header water jacket then exists out the exhaust outlet. if you watch the latest video on the heat exchanger you may get a better idea of the cooling set up. Thanks Shawn
Hi Erik, that's a good one! Lucky I'm not hiding the cost from anyone!! Since we have taken no short cuts and only using top quality parts I dont think we will have much change out of 40k each.
@@SabotageGarage you can swap m16 sport rods and valve springs into the m18 for a more robust engine. M16 rods are much more stout and the valve springs don't float any where near as bad when you over rev the engine.
Hi Jimmy, I did hear that the M16 have stronger rods but didnt know about the valve springs. I have seen after marker rods for less than 500 bucks so not too bad. Thanks for the info much appreciated. Cheers
Awesome build, I'm interested in doing this, but guys in the US all seem to use donor engines from jet skis, are these Suzukis easier/cheaper to source?
Hi John. Thanks!!! here in NZ the M18a is harder to find as it was only in the imports and go for 1200 to 1500 NZD but can pick up the M15A and M16A engines for around $300 NZD. and Aliart sell marine exhaust for these engines.
I am curious if the $ spent on this engine/jet is cheaper than say a 300 hp supercharged seadoo? Very nice work by the way, looks like a lot of time and $ spent !
@@SabotageGarage Thank You! I'm weeks away from having a welded 12' Jetstream hull delivery and I still haven't decided on a Jet Drive. Your boat setup is clean and I like the hull design it's look is much sleeker than what Jetstream offers.

Very nice build, I can see a lot of quality parts here and some serious dollars spent- looking forward to the finished product. Well done.

Just doing research on a build for myself. You are to be commended in the quality build and especially in sharing your work!
Thank you
Much appreciated Texas Yankee!!!
15:10 Those motor mounts are so trick!!! Love it; got to love CAD.
Hi Adamant,
yep being hand with CAD has its advantages!!!
You guys are wizards! This is such a clean build.
Thanks Mike, yours are also great, congrats on 1000 subs. hope i get there soon :)
@@SabotageGarage Thanks! People just enjoy watching others do work haha. It'll happen quicker than you think.
those lvb hulls are on another level, wait till you get it in the water, you guys will froth!!
They look amazing! dying to get it in the water! its been teasing me for the last 2 years......
Some more pics and vids off this build would be great mate. Looking at building something similar
New video out in a few days mate!
Beautiful boat.
Thanks Martin, we have put our all into them!
I'm down to see the slide show. Is like to see how you have the engine mated to the pump
Hi Kenny. Slideshow will be in the playlist. check it out! in one of the videos it shows how they are mated.

We brought the kits from Mike Morrow at LVB liquid violation boats just search him on Facebook
gonna be fast !
Im hoping so!!!!

Hey bro how much do you think the m18a would weight I Want to build a 3.3m wattscraft but jet ski motors are rip off and need rebuilding all the time
The M18A is just over 100kgs i think
Any Reason why you didn't go with a liquid to liquid inter cooler? Usually the water your running through is a lot colder then the air and can exchange the heat better?
Hi Cody, it is indeed a liquid cooled intercooler. We have plumed it up so the cold river water circulates through it. Cheers
Sabotage Garage when I watched the rest of the video I saw it. Sounded like you said air to air inter cooler in the beginning . Still a cool project
Hey guys. What other engines do you guys in NZ use?
Hi Shawn, Suzuki M15a, M16a, Toyota 1800cc, Nissan SR20, Honda J30, LS1,2,3,A, and the usual jetski set ups
What fuel pump are you using?
Deatschwerks 250iL 400+ HP In-Line Fuel Pump

What is the total anticipated cost when completed?

Not including your labor of course.
VERY nice build! 👍

@@erikb8877 definitely not including labour that would triple the price Haha. Thanks mate much appreciated!
What do think of starting with a 14 to 16 ft aluminum fishing boat instead of a kit? That is what I'm considering
Im Not sure, id say if the hull degrees are similar it would possibly work.
I like the thumb throttle..
its a aftermarket jetski one.
good job how much horsepower does the engine have
Hi Marco, we are hoping to get around 250hp with the stock internals but may upgrade those in the future to get more. Will see how it goes. Thanks
